"Gonna hafta undo a whole buncha these," West muttered to himself as he dumped his pouch out onto the desk. He leaned over slightly and peered at Ev's pin. "How's it goin'?" he asked as he picked up his pliers. If he was going to incorporate these stones in a way that didn't make him want to barf, this ring was going to need a lot of tweaking.

Ohhh she would be so grateful, yes please~<33

Eventually, she just went on to setting the pin down, to stare rather... intently at the emerald between her long sharp nails. It was as if she were hoping the gem might 'speak' to her, and give an idea of placement. A few of her little moths peeked out to stare at the glittering pretty, even tried to perch on it, only one able to do so successfully.

Exasperated, though not showing it besides a slight slump in her shoulders, and maybe a little bend in her usually perfect posture, the demon did a small glance around in hopes taking a peek at others' work might help get her creative gears churning. Catching that movement of a wave, Ev gave a sweet smile in return to Kettil, lifting a little in her seat to try and get a better look at the lovely creation he'd made. Maybe she could ask for his opinion on her own.

But before that, her attention was drawn to West, looking over as he dumped out his supplies. She looked along what he had so far, giving a small nod of praise in a subconscious gesture. "It looks quite nice so far. You've done a great job West~" looking back to her own, her emerald set back into the pouch, a finger poked at the edges of the moth pins wings, "Hm.. I'm at a bit of a dead end, to be quite honest.. I've but one emerald, and.. I'm uncertain where to place it.." she admitted... clearly a little embarrassed to be stumped on such a trivial thing. Glancing over at West, a moth or two of hers perching onto his horns, she smiled lightly, "Have you any suggestions?"

He smirked in response to her compliment, still working to undo some of his messy links. "No tougher than basket weavin'," West said, although what he meant by that would likely remain a mystery. He looked over at her pin again. "Dunno really. Looks good t'me. But I can give you that one if y'want. I dun think I'll be usin' it." He pushed his emerald closer to the ghoul. "Wait. Lemme ask."

West raised his hand for a moment, then blurted out his question in spite of the fact that another boil was waiting patiently for the teacher to notice him. "Hey, can we give one of our rocks t'someone else if we dun wannit?"

When Myr returned to class, he was eager to continue. He was intrigued by the properties that each gem had, and when it was his turn to choose, had to pause for a moment. Each jewel had a different meaning, and use, and it took him a few seconds to decide.

Eventually he pulled out two small square gems, the first a Ruby, and the second an Amethyst. They seemed as if they would go well together, and also would look good with the copper metal his hairpin was made of.

The Reaper knew just how he wanted them, both jewels on the end, resting next to each other.

It took him a little while to figure out how to attach them, but he eventually managed. It was perhaps not the most elegant thing to look at, but it was his first time ever making anything like this. He was sure that his next try he would do better, and he expected that even those raised here, on the Isle of Death, had pieces that looked like these the very first time they were taught how to do it.

He was back and bouncing again. The ring he'd made the day before was still very nice without gems. But the fact they could now put gems in them? Doubly excited siren. Listening to the instructor go on about meaning, his earwings gave a small flick back and forth. They had meaning and properties. He momentarily wondered if there was one for flying. And looking good! He liked that. Singing too maybe? That would help. Oh or maybe he could get one that was about clouds. For- yes. he liked clouds.

As she explained the meaning his ear wings fell slightly. Nothing for love? Really? Maybe she didn't have any... Or maybe it hadn't been found yet! The part about sacrifice, the siren didn't really hear. Or rather he did but he was ignoring, like so many other things.

Still gems! Inserting them! Into his ring! Wigging in his seat, Israfel was giddy as could be ash he picked out his choice. Tiny glittering gems were at his grasp and... Emeralds were in season but he didn't have many to wear with them, (he could make an outfit however). Sapphires and Amethysts were his personal favorites but- Gold ring didn't really match well for the leaf and vine motif he had.

Selecting Two emeralds he felt good with the choice. In fashion and from what the horseman had said, health! One could never be to healthy right?

Fingers worked at the metal with tweezers and pliers. He had to fit the gems, make sure they wouldn't fall out. Or get pulled off very easily. A cry as one of the gems flew out of the metal ends of the tweezers, making Israfel got scrambling for it. He wasn't allowed more gems! No no no no!

Jumping out of his seal he realized he been a bit loud, the embarrassment sending him back to his seat chirping out small apologies as he went back to his work.

It was hard but eventually he thought he had them set. And that it was an acceptable design. He hoped. Wished. Prayed.

Israfel was suddenly very worried. His hand shot up into the air. He might have flailed it about for a short while too, (he had).

Once the gems were in hand and ready to be set, Imryn took out her tools and began slowly working with the metal to make room to place the gems. It took a bit of reworking, but when she was done, the gems fit into their places. Now to see if they would stay there... and she really hoped they would.

Julian sat back a bit his wings fidgeting as he considered what Lumi had said. The trips he had been on, the things he'd done with school, there had been only one time that he had gladly taken something tangible away from it and left something behind in its place. Thinking about it, his free hand went to the pocket in his pants where her kept his bag of dice.

"I donno, school activities are... often more memorable than you might assume." He certainly hadn't forgotten any of the ones he'd been in. But he did smile. Lumi was a nice ghoul, he hoped this trip would be better than his experience had been previously. So far so good, hopefully things would stay that way.

The demon boil glanced at Kettil when he mentioned the necklace he'd made, and his hope that it didn't fall apart.
"I wonder how she's going to test it, and then what after that. It would be pretty awesome to learn how to put FEAR into gems."

Kettil offered Ev an encouraging smile as she resumed talking with West. For now he was just letting her be so she could make her own friends without him being all involved in her conversations all the time. His attention turned back toward Julian and he gave the boil a shrug of uncertainty, "I dunno, I already a lot just by listening to the lecture," he observed.

All the knowledge sat nestled comfortably in his mind and he liked it that way. Though the teacher seemed chilly in personality the lectures were very clear and to the point, very easy to understand and pick out what he needed to know.

He could appreciate the precise nature of the teaching especially since he sometimes had the occasional patience problems.

Mitsu nodded to Hel as she got up to leave and see what the teacher had to say but focused back on her bracelet. She had decided to unravel parts of it to redo it a little to best suit the setting of the stone. It was a bit more work but Mitsu felt that the over all holding would be a bit more secure.

She paused only a moment to look around and see how everyone else was doing. It seemed a lot of people had some really good ideas for jewelry. Mitsu didn't have much as far as jewelry went so her ideas were rather limited. Everything she had was rather simple in nature but she liked it that way.

Ylaria would have to be ready for a surprise visit. The clan of Death took great pleasure in their jewels and the heir of Death was no exception. A presence entered abruptly, casually, a familiar rounding of her hips as she avoided every single piece of metal or wire on the ground. Her heels clicked against the ground like the solid pacing of a horse's hooves, one hand running through her hair in an arrogant brush.

She gave the jewelry box a mild glance, glancing around at the room full of concentrated students working on their items. It was a pleasant sight, a prideful one. Precious little gems .. Aisa could only hope that the students treasured the values of Death enough to keep them safe. However, from the atmosphere of the room, it seemed those worries wouldn't bear the spoiled fruits that Aisa expected.

"Ylaria, darling. Time is always in such short stock, we must overlap and overlap. I have only a moment in spare, I'm afraid I'll have to impose on you Ylaria. I trust only you with this task. "

As she did for years before this.

Amaunet was excited. This class was something she knew was right up her Alley. She loved jewelry, and learning the craft was just another bonus to the female. Her eyeholes were alight as the ghoul entered the room, gazing around the beautiful surroundings. It was time to learn EVERYTHING. Watching everything that happened around her, Amaunet took her time to figure out just how to do this. It was time to chose jewels. This was the part she was most eager for. She had to carefully choose. Each of these was very specifically keyed, weren't they? Taking a slow breath, she made her way up to pick out each jewel, those glowing holes carefully studying. Which ones would she take....Which ones would belong to her, at least for this class.

Taking a breath, she studied every single gem, each crack and color. Everything. The ghoul was utterly picky about them, and when she finally picked one up, it was a stunning Diamond, turning the stone about in her long fingers. Yes. This would do most nicely. It may have been relatively small in size, but it was perfect for setting in a jewelry setting.

"I completely agree, I'm really glad I took this class. I just want to learn as much as I can before we have to go back," Julian replied with a nod, taking a look around the class, looking to see how their classmates were faring.

"Have you tried any of the training they provide?" Spelunking had gone well, meditation... not so much. What he needed to do was try again, see if he could get past the overwhelming sense of fear that had settled upon him. Thinking about it, maybe he needed to try again.

Alright, her stone was chosen. Now, with the stone chosen, she had to make sure that she set it properly. Sitting at her spot, she gently began her work, wrapping the wire carefully about the stone, making sure it fit properly in the bracelet setting. Silver and diamond. A very fitting mix, the mummy thought. Though she was preferential to gold herself, the silver seemed to fit the stone she'd chosen quite nicely. A smile crossed her lips, and she took a slow breath, carefully moving the other strands to make soft patterns. It was almost water-like. Nodding solemnly, the woman was proud of her finished work, "Perfection."
