Blaze sweatdropped as she pieced together interpretations of those words in her head. "Rheaird...? Wings...? S-so this 'Rheaird' is a means of flight?" For a few seconds, memories of the venture through Sky Babylon back in her own world flashed before her mind's eyes. So many thin, fragile paths that hung too high over the sea...

Blinking away those images, Blaze appeared to tense up even more to keep herself from shivering and looking so vulnerable. Her tail began to bristle, however, as the fur was starting to stand on end. "I-I do not mind waiting at all. I-In fact, I think it would be wise to look around here a little more in case one of those pieces I mentioned might have found its way here. And p-perhaps you might also have other matters to take care of before leaving tomorrow?"

She'd never admit it, but she did not like heights at all.







After the crowd dispersed, Kratos simply folded his arms and fell silent, keeping watch over how the people―as well as this 'monkeybird'―would respond as the scene unfolded. He was keeping himself ready to intercept whatever dissension should arise.

Azura went on to do all the talking. "Yeah, I've heard that there are going to be a lot of people getting lost here. I'm not from around here myself, but he is!" She pointed at Kratos behind her with her thumb, then heard Niddler's next question. "Me? Well, I'm a Dark Elf." Hearing "Mer" and judging by the context the monkeybird was using, she started to think it might be a place. "Mer...is that where you're from? And you're hungry, you say. What do you eat?" Determining this creature was mostly harmless by now, she wanted to help it a bit, if only to soften the shock of finding oneself very far away from home. Not to mention, she perceived it as cute, and thought of it the same way she would think of a child.

The crowd had thinned out considerably, but there were a few scientists and scholars here and there standing at a distance and jotting down things in notebooks as they watched these foreigners communicate with each other.

Lord was mindlessly chewing on some wild flowers that he thought were edible while he fished. He had caught a couple of fish in a short period of time with his improvised line. He was so into fishing barely noticed that Rei had joined him or the others were getting ready to leave already, “Ain’t no rest for the wicked,” he smirked as he quickly started cleaning up after himself and slung the fish over his shoulder, “The others seem to be ready to leave, let’s go meet up with them Prankster.” He headed to the small group of inter-dimensional travelers.



 


Major blushed at Bunnie’s remark to him, “I-I’m fine, just weighing my options,” Major paled at the mentioning of dissection, and that settled he decision, “I-I’ll go with Richter, if there is a possibility of dissection, I think Bunnie would be at a greater risk than me.” Then a sudden thought came back in full, “though if you, um, run into a man in black and blue that answers to the name Lord, or a guy in brown that answers to Lee please look after them… and I’m sorry if they cause you any trouble.”

"Very good." Regal nodded once again. "Of course, we will make sure to look out for them."
He wondered why two of them were named after ranks and statuses. Then again, his own name was Regal, so who was he to ask why?
"...In any case, I will arrange for overnight rooms at the hotel."

Blaze's eyes widened at Jade's words, too tense to realize it was sarcasm. She almost wanted to lash out at him, to tell him he got it all wrong, but she kept in mind that as a Princess, she ought to keep her composure. "Indeed, I don't want to have gone so far and just realize that along the way"

Her tail began to relax at Zelos' agreement to search the city. "Thank you," she sighed out in sheer relief. "And I think those would be the first places I'd like to look, actually. It sounds as if I'd be able to know quickly whether they're there or not. If not, that still narrows things down. Yes, a holder would be able to gain power off these pieces, though it's not very obvious how at first glance and it's not too easy to figure out either. I think we'd be okay as long as it hasn't been in their hands for very long."

She concluded with a nod at the red-haired Chosen, signalling that she was ready for him to lead the way.







Azura chuckled a bit and nodded. "I guess that just means Dark Elves absolutely do not exist in your world at all. But yes, this is where he was born. And I'm surprised you'd say he looks friendly. He's like a statue most of the time."

For a moment, Kratos closed his eyes as he softly sighed out a silent "hmph."

Azura tilted her head and continued, "Minga-melons? I can't say I've heard of those." Straightening up and looking back at the seraph, she asked, "What do you say, Sir Kratos? That ring a bell?"

He shook his head. "No, but the local market should have regular melons."

Turning back to the monkeybird, the Dark Elf picked up where she left off, making an apologetic expression. "Yeah...you heard him. Do you also eat other fruits? I think you'll have to make do. I don't know if you're aware of it yet, but...you're in a completely different world from your home." She made an abrupt shift in subject when she realized, "Oh wow. This far into a conversation and there haven't been names mentioned yet. Mine's Azura, and as I mentioned earlier, his is Kratos. What's yours?"

Jade found it rather amusing to have seen Blaze's reaction to his sarcasm. He then turned his attention to Zelos when he mentioned that he would show them around the city. "Well then, shall we be on our way? We shouldn't waste anymore time."

Niddler blinked for a moment when Azura mentioned that Kratos was like a statue most of the time, which had the monkeybird glance at him then back at Azura. "Being like a statue is better than being something that doesn't like monkeybirds." He shuddered. His kind were sold as slaves, and they weren't treated very well.

After Azura and Kratos mentioned that they haven't heard of Minga-Melons, he had a look of disappointment. Though as long as he could get food, he didn't mind what was there. "I do eat other food. Minga-melons are my favorite."

It was then he learned that he wasn't in Mer, which caused the monkeybird to freak out, making a some sort of screeching sound. "Y-You mean, we're....We're not in Mer anymore?" He asked in a panicked tone. "I'm Niddler..."

Zelos nodded and turned. "Alright. We'll start at the slums and then work our way up to the Coliseum." With that, he left the Crimson Room and led them out of the palace. Once they were out, he stretched, waving to a couple of girls visiting from Sylvarant. It was their clothes that gave them away. Sylvaranti and Tethe'allan clothes were still distinctly different. Looking back at the two, he walked forward and down the stairs that connected the square and noble district. "So, what do these...'pieces' look like? In case I see one, I'd like to know what I'm looking at." If they were unique, he wasn't too worried about missing them, but then again, they could be cups for all he knew.

"By the way, since we're gonna be split up....Should we meet back 'ere after we're done visitin' those places?" She then turned her attention to Richter when he asked for names. "I'm Bunnie Rabbot. Nice to meetcha." She held out her robotic hand out for a handshake.

Hearing what Raven had Tear blush slightly before coughing a bit to regain her composure. "According to what the villagers had mentioned...." She would unravel a map that she received when she spoke with the former chief. "Sybak is where we should go."

Guy took a moment to look at the map. "Looks like we're gonna have to go through that forest again to get there." He said before he glanced over to Lord and Raven, though he blinked in confusion. "Hey, where did Rei go? Wasn't she with you, Lord?" o.o

She looked at the group as well to see that Rei wasn't present. She mentally sighed to herself before hearing Lord mention that they could go their own way without her. It would seem that Rei won't be joining them on their travels. "We should get moving. We can't afford to waste anymore time." She began to lead the group back to Gaoracchia Forest.

He made a sheepish expression when he heard Lord mention about getting eaten by monsters. "Less chance on that. Luckily for us, we got Tear. Her hymns and healing artes come in handy."

As he followed Kratos and Azura, Niddler's eyes were widen with shock when he heard Kratos mentioned that he's in Aselia. "Oh no! What do I do!? How do I get back to Mer!?" The monkeybird was panicking at the fact that he's in a different world.
