Joi jumped back with a squeak hearing the thud on the door. They're worried... I wonder I won't be in as much trouble?
Swalling her cowerdice, she knocked lightly on the door.

Vale quirked a brow and got up off the door, placing his staff down in the alcove it usually sat in. He grabbed the knob and turne dthe handle, opening the door.
Who the hell could it be at this time of day...
When his eyes fell on Joi, it took all of his will power NOT to get angry again.

Joi took one look at her dad and looked away. She slouched quite a bit and looked to the floor, crossing her arms in front of her. "Hi Daddy..."
Dizzy heard that voice and nearly pushed Vale over getting around him and to Joi, wrapping her arms around her daughter and starting to cry.

Vale sighed, he couldn't very well get mad now, not with Dizzy hanging and crying all over Joi... He wouldn't hurt Joi, not in a million years, but he would not yell at her while Dizzy was still worried sick.
"You were grounded young lady... Where did you go?"

Still hurting like crazy on the inside and feeling like a fool for it, Joi started crying too. She needed to let out a nice long and healthy cry. She even considered talking to her mom about it when her dad wasn't around ... her mom always was at least rational...
She looked to her dad with the tears streaming down steadily. "I'm sorry, Daddy." She tried to say more, but couldn't, instead clung to her mom. "I'm sorry."
Part of her wished she'd never have snuck out, but a bigger part was glad she did, even with the heartache. She still loved Jay, even if she tried to rationalize not. Her mind would be battling over what she really felt for a long time to come.
Dizzy sobbed, "Joi, I'm so glad you're okay. You are alright, aren't you?"

Vale sighed. "Forgiven... But you're grounded till I say otherwise... Also, you're not allowed to leave the poarch without your mother or I with you... Do you understand?" He asked, rubbing his temples... And not waiting for an answer headed inside...

"No I'm not." Joi answered her mother then looked up to her dad. That's it? I can handle that.... just not another spanking. Hadn't quite occured to her that she was too old to be spanked for a punishment. She really did have a lot of growing up to do.
Dizzy squeezed Joi tighter at hearing that she wasn't ok. "What happened Baby?"
"I can tell you later. Mom, I'm sorry I snuck out. I won't do it ever again." She cried again, believing fully at that moment she wouldn't. She couldn't go through another heartache and her mind, which wasn't functioning all that well anymore, was making odd connections.

Vale sighed and tossed back a glass of scotch he'd fliched for Sols, and sighed, resting hsi forhead against the cabinet in the kitching grumbling a little...
He just hoped she would be okay...

"I got stuck on the mountain and couldn't come back down till sun-up... then ... I was scared to come home."
Dizzy squeezed her daughter again, brushin her hand over Joi's windblown hair. "Baby, don't ever be scared to come home. We've been worried sick about you." She asked for details later, Joi seemed just as distraught as she was right now.

Vale came out a short while later and he stood for a moment leaning on the door jamb. "Can your father get a hug too?" He murmured, trying to hold back his sniffles.
His Joi-Joi was okay... Everything was going to be okay..

Dizzy loosened one arm, and waved Vale over, chuckling slightly. Since when does he have to ask? She finally let go of Joi when she heard a baby start wimpering. "Good timing, Lucius needs a diaper changing." Diapers ... that was a whole new thing they had to deal with now.
Joi rushed to her father and clung tight to him. "I'm sorry Daddy."

Vale hugged her and smiled weakly, rubbing her back and murmuring softly. "It's okay... You're forgiven..." He murmured softly.
"You are just grounded... and I mean grounded..." He sighed.

Joi nodded and sobbed into her dad's chest as he comforted her. If he only knew HOW much he was comforting her or how bad she needed, he probably wouldn't have given it. "Thank you Daddy."
After changing the baby, Dizzy came back in and sat on the couch, watching her husband and daughter. "Joi, we do need to talk about what happened eventually, so aren't completely off the hook from that."

Vale nodded. "Yes, once you have calmed a bit... and can talk without bursting into tears..." He murmured, brushing her hair and keeping his eyes closed...
He hoped that Lucia didn't ever do this to him... Joi-joi had him wrapped around her fingers enough as it was...
