Alwine ran in after Chuppi, worriedly clutching a couple of nutcrackers. The Rat King was up, and had Bartholomew and his boilfriend skewered on his sword! "Oh no..." she whispered. "Hang on! I'll help!" She chucked a splintery nutcracker at the Rat King's head. Unfortunately, it sailed harmlessly past the King's crown and smacked some curtains in the back. "Drats!" cried Alwine. "Please hang in there, you two!" HP: 22 HP Damage: MISS! Cumulative Damage: 94

Levi was going to give the rat another one, but noticed West was making himself acquainted with a wall. AYE..... that wall Jingleberry? Ninjas blended into things, right? My HP: 40/40 Damage Dealt: 0 Collective Damage to Boss: 94 Anything attacked/attackers should note: robisthatyou

"Hang in there?!" Barth repeated, furious and pinned to the door like a bug in a collector box.

"Not...much else I can do." He gave a weak laugh but stopped when he felt the stings of pains as his stomach and sides moved. Laughing. Not a good idea.

Alwine turned from her failed attempt at nutcracker-chucking and ran over to the two boils.
"I'm really sorry!" she wrung her hands before looking down at the blade. "I- I don't know how I should do this. It might be worse to pull it out, but... we need to get the JOY out of you."
So she grabbed the hilt of the sword and started to pull with all of her strength, digging her heels into the ground. The ghoul didn't even flinch when she heard someone say 'Jingleberry'. That wasn't important right now! Barth had been one of her closest friends-- and if Calder was a friend of Barth's, then he was important to Alwine too. So she kept on pulling.
"Come on-- come on--!!"

The thorns on the floor rolled aside to give Alwine access to the sword. While gripping it probably wasn't pleasant, having it in his middle was definitely not.
"Ahh~!" He gritted his teeth, "Keep - keep pulling. It's st~UAH!--uck in the wall, I think." He couldn't turn around to see who was strong and close by, and hazarded a yelped, "Jer-AH!-icho!"

That stomp to the rat's tail didn't seem too effective. Jericho glanced over at Christof who had done the same, then shrugged. Then, hearing Barth's call, he looked behind and saw that the Sloth and Calder were a bit ... stuck at the moment. Actually, that looked pretty damn painful.
Grimacing, he made his way over while looking over the blade.
"Hold on. Lemme give this a shot," he said before taking in a deep breath. Taking a hold of it, he took a moment, before yanking back to try and pull it out with Alwine.

Alwine kept on pulling, but she moved to the side so that Jericho had most of the room and grip. After all, he was a lot stronger than she was-- and he was a second year, now!
Their pulling made the sword start to wiggle, but it didn't do much more than that. Alwine let go and bobbed her shoulders in a nod. "Jericho, give it all you've got. I'm afraid I'm just in the way at this point..."

The sudden shout of the dragon's name from the Sloth's mouth made Christof's blood run cold, stopping his furious attempts to attack the Rat King beast. He... if he needed someone why hadn't he called for... for...
No. No no no no no the Dragon already had Mistress's utmost adoration and he knew he was in constant danger of the Kelpie, but he would NOT tolerate the dragon rescuing HIS Master! He hurried forward, shoving Alwine and Jericho both aside, digging all three of his arms into the candy to wrench backward as though he could do it alone out of shear determination.
The ripping of stitches on at least one arm made him reconsider. Even so, he kept tugging, a frustrated, grumpy look on his face.

Alwine stumbled backwards a few steps before going to her usual floating stance. She knew that Christof was dedicated to Barth, but that was a bit much. The haunt crossed her arms and watched, now absolutely certain that she would only get in the way.
Still, that was awfully rude. If they weren't being attacked, she might've gotten up the nerve to say something. As it was, though, she just started to unwrap her arms. The two of them would definitely need something to keep their innards inside as they made their way to the infirmary.

With all the moving and tugging, he winced as the cane was turned and jostled this way and that to pull it out, but only pressed his hands against the wall and waited, breathing hard. After much arguing and shouting, he finally felt the Joyous sword start to pull and then slide from the wall and out of Calder's stomach.
"Oh.." He said with a smile, and then saw the hole. He held his stomach and sank to his knees. "..oh.." He wasn't an undead nor was he ghost. Hole to a gut really hurt.

It would be the agonized cry of Barth to Jericho that caught Levi's attention. She hadn't quite grasped the severity of the situation while trying to consider her next move on the rat king and the happenings of the demon she'd followed here.
She'd nearly taken spot with Alwine and Jericho intending to help pull the sword out when the two were knocked down by the Igor from robo-building class. They were both there together, right? Barth and Christof taught that class together... the white haired boil ghoul in front of Barth was familiar too. They'd worried about the stage during Acting class.
The tatzel didn't know just how close they all were, but no one seemed to want that sword there; that was a give-in. When there seemed to be progression by the patchwork, Levi kept to looking back and forth from the rat king to her peers.
Would it try to attack again? A shot at that group right now wouldn't be pretty...
C'MON BOIL! PULL ON'IT! YA'LMOST THAR! GIVE IT'A HARD GO! This was the ghoul's way of cheering the igor on. If adrenaline had him pulling that thing out, she'd wait for him to give it his all before trying anything herself.

It looked like the patchwork made swift work of the sword! Her injured pride healed itself quickly from gratefulness, and she floated over to Calder and offered her bandages.
"Please, wrap your abdomen. If you put enough pressure on it, it should slow the bleeding down..." Alwine had done some reading about monster healing since she was dating Mandy. However, there was little else she could do to help the kelpie (unless pumpkin pills started raining from the sky... and from the way things had been, it seemed more likely that minty puke would rain!).

The others must have loosened it before he got there, because at the second haul, the sword popped free, sending the hunchback tumbling backwards with a muffled yelp and a clatter of heavy candy stick.
But they were FREE BY HIS HAND and that's what mattered.

Once everyone was free, once everyone had helped, Chuppi gave back at the Rat King as best as she could.
Thankfully this time she hit him, probably so much harder than she ever though she could hit anything before. Well, without using her FEAR that is.
She just wanted to be useful, to be helpful.
