Arell and C.J. were thrown off guard by the dare. They were unaware that the mom was still around.

"Woah, an' I thought OUR family was nuts." Arell mused.

"Hey, now . . . be a little respectful, dude. This ain't our thing to be in." C.J. replied.

Rosie's eyes widened and she smiled back at him. Excited that he'd agreed to, and having at least a chance of having both of them together again. Joker was like a father to her now. And though he said that Gossamer didn't care about either of them....she still loved Gossamer.



Sapphire frowned and looked back at him. Of course he was picking her again. "Truth." she replied. She wasn't ready for another one of his dares. And....she could always lie if he asked anything too personal.

Sapphire's frown fell a little more. She couldn't quite just make something up for this one. If she gave a detailed story about watching him pull a robbery or something, he'd know she was lying. She didn't know Gotham very well, let alone any of his outings other than the two she had seen him in.


"I was visiting Gotham." she replied. She could at least be vague about some of the details. "I'd never seen or heard anything about you before, or any of the other big names in Gotham. But I watched you and a group of others one night in the street from the upper level of the building. Fighting Batgirl. You pinned her down, electrocuted her, and ripped off her mask."

Sapphire didn't reply. She just stared back at him, doing little to facially hide how much she didn't like the clown. That should have been all the answer Joker needed.

This. Was going to be a fuuuuuun night....

C.J. was just about to get in and get dangerous, his arm nearing the hilt of his Bowie knife when Arell looked over.

"Easy, kid. Remember, dere's young'uns an' animals in here." Arell said in his low Cajun growl.

"Thanks for the tip." C.J. replied to Arell, then faced the clown, standing up, the big guy smirking. "As for YOU . . . you already asked your question. I'd pipe down before we have t' take this heah fight outside." he said, C.J.'s voice was clearer than Arell's, a distinct downhome twang cut through. Not enough to be parody-bait, but enough to reveal which side of the Mason-Dixon this hellcat came from.

Joker smiled at C.J. It was a smile that showed both mirth and malice in equal measure. "Oh, I know. I was merely looking for clarification. I DID say as detailed as possible, and I was merely getting as many details as I could. Now it's the Spider's turn..." Knowing who she was, was going to make tonight a great deal more fun. Looking at her with the same smile, almost ASKING her to do something right in front of the little girl with his smile, he said to Sapphire, "Well? Who're you going to pick?" Much, MUCH more fun.

Sapphire swallowed hard, trying to bite back the urge to do anything she'd regret. Fortunately, or unfortunately, she had a bit of a distraction.


There was a sudden rustling from behind the door, someone's muffled voice called out, and then the door snapped open just far enough for a head to pop through. A bright-eyed, red-head, witch-capped head peeked into the room. Her red eyes scanned the group, found her double, and her face lit up. She opened the door the rest of the way and stepped in, her surprisngly well-detailed witch dress swaying around her ankles as she looked to whoever was still outside. "I TOLD you!!" she said happily. "You owe me a shot of wine!"

"And I told you not to go bursting into peoples houses. (And I am not giving you any alcohol!)" a voice replied.

The little witch huffed and crossed her arms. "I'll tattle on you!"

"Well I'll be less dead if I don't give you any-"

Before he could go any farther, Rosie spied the mound of candy and squealed. "DIBS ON CANDY MOUNTAIN!" she called out as she ran for the candy.

"WHAT? No, no, no, no. I said three more houses and that's it!" Vice said, hurrying through the door to try to catch her. No luck. He plopped two sacks of candy on the ground and ran a hand through his hair. "Why the hell did I think it was a good idea to take you trick or treating?" he mumbled to himself.

"Because you're the funnest, funniest, coolest, most talented, awesomest person I know?" the little witch replied.

Vice sighed, then absently looked over at the group. "Sorry. She's been rather.....hyperactive tonight. And she thought she could collect one of her duplicates."

"You still owe me a drink!"

"I do not."

"I'll hex you."

"Good luck with that."

Joker looked at the newcomers. Although he didn't recognise the guy, there was no question who the girl was. "Look, Rosie! It's Rosie!"
