"Oh," said Sparrow, realizing, belatedly, that he had not introduced himself. "I apologize - my name is Sparrow. A pleasure to meet you, Malodore."

He paused, then gave a little sigh. "Though admittedly I wish it were under better circumstances."

She had seen sparrows before.

Tiny minipets.

That you could crush under your feet if they got in your way.

Despite being heads shorter than Sparrow anyway, Vieve was seriously considering that right now.

The pendant. The pendant. Eyes trained on it with a hungry look on her face, Vieve sidled back over to where Mot and Pepin were standing.

At first, the secretary had been too busy kicking over more piles of snow to notice. In fact, it seemed like he just really enjoyed kicking and pillaging poor piles of snow, it was probably a repressed anger thing: spending too much time with Hellma could do that to any decent Fear-sized creature.

Finally, after what seemed like a long stretched out period of more snow-pile misplaced aggression, Arel gave a sigh - as if annoyed at Sparrow for finding it so fast - and trudged over, his boots crunching lightly over the wake of his destruction.

"Hmm." He eyed it for a second, before scooping it up in his gloved hand. The pendant did not even glow or shimmer or anything, in fact, it was pretty obvious that they were still stuck in the freezing snow. The secretary tried shaking it next. Nothing happened. He grabbed it by its strap and pulled the pendant towards eye level, scrutinizing it carefully.

"I see. Well, that's unfortunate. I guess." Pendant in hand, he went back to kicking more piles of snow: at this point the ground would be very, very flat and even. He stopped for a second upon the students' puzzled expression and sighed. "The pendant has a cooldown time. One charge use. You'll have to wait until its ready, in the meanwhile, why not enjoy the view." It seemed like he was enjoying this a lot more than any form of detention he could think of.

At this point the students had found the pendant a struggle in which Pepin could not take part in as she managed to get herself temporarily lost in the snow; her pixels dancing around with the flurry of ******** this, bbztth... ting... btzz. ********... NNGHM."

While the students went into a chaotic search for the pendant she was busy gathering her data back and arrived back at the group when it was relocated. Great it had to reboot and not an hourglass or spinning wheel in sight to pass the time idly.

Tomoko was beginning to think that Sparrow had magical powers. Well, he was a reaper so he probably did, but first he roused the secretary and then he found the pendant?

..
....
......

A somewhat suspicious alarm went off in her head at the thought, but she didn't speak about it. Instead she turned to survey the iced over area, frowning lightly. Fortunately, she did have a certain amount of temperature to her body, along with the fact that her tails could keep her legs and feet warm. Even if the scenery was..eerily lovely in its own twisted way. She didn't like it, to be honest.

"Um....how..long is the cooldown time?" Tomoko piped up, really hoping that she wouldn't be completely maimed for asking. She was already suffering from 'hi, cold in the snow' syndrome. Part of her really wanted to just take her skull pin off and get her fur coat on.

Then she'd at least be a little bit warmer.

Roch had just sat there as they searched, trying to work feeling back into his fingers. And of course Sparrow had found it. He didn't even bother to comment on the "best buddies" or whatever the hell the other boil had called them. He was more worried about his fingers.

He dragged the coat over his shoulders again, hanging it there like a cape and looking at his fingers. So they were just STUCK here? "Enjoy the view?" he repeated through gritted teeth. He slipped the strap of his guitar over his neck and tried playing.

It hurt to play, and he hadn't bothered to switch it from bass to electric, but he ignored all this, forcing his fingers to move faster.

Then abruptly he stopped, cursing and looking at his fingers.

Alwine wished that she had worn a coat, that way she could offer it to the other students. Invisibility had its perks, however, in that if it got too bad, she could give up her dress to warm those who needed it.

As it was, though, the haunt pulled off her lace-edged shawl and offered it to Tomoko.

"I really don't need it. We ghosts can do just fine in the cold. Please, try to warm yourself up as best you can."

The freezing temperature made the shawl stiff, but Alwine hoped that it could help. She wanted to help. She worriedly looked over at Roch, though since she had no head it was hard to tell if she was impressed with his playing or not.

"Professor..." the headless haunt finally moved towards the grumpy ice demon. "Are you sure you're all right? Your injuries, I mean--"

Granted, the students didn't seem to do much damage to him... well, they DID knock him out. If anything happened to the secretary, then all of their gooses were cooked.

"Hhmm." She chimed back at Sparrow momentarily, lifting a eyebrow at his response but choosing to not say much more than that. If he claimed they were friends... well. Roch must clearly like being angry in reply to his friends then!

She stood pretty much to the side, looking when the others did as well but not finding anything of worth. She had no idea what they were looking for anyways, some sort of jewelry?

Shivering she blinked, took the coat off her shoulders and slipped her arms into the sleeves. The coat was large on her, but it was warmer this way than just on her shoulders.

Finally after the object was found the ghoul peered over at the object... THAT was what this fuss was about? Its so tiny... "That little t-thing is what br-brought us here?" Turning towards Arel, she gave him a look of wonder once more... he seemed right at home in the cold. Was he a Reindeer Peryton? Maybe thats why the cold wasn't bothering him that bad... or why he enjoyed the snow.

All the same she did not feel comfortable being around anyone here, only knowing Sparrow. So she stayed near him.. but she couldnt help but look at Roch as he played. "Sh-should he be making so much noise if there are humans close?" Wren asked no one in particular. It was almost as if the boil was screaming HEY IM HERE COME GET ME.

Sparrow eyed Arel with a look of great apprehension on his face as he got back to his feet, brushing snow from his pants.

"Er," he said, taking a few steps backwards so that he was standing beside Wren, idly twisting one of his gloves. He cast a slightly worried look down at the peryton (What was he supposed to call her, anyway? Best friend? Ghoulfriend? Significant other? The ghoul he had a major thing for and had kissed but wasn't entirely certain what that meant? Nothing seemed quite right...), and then back up at the Secretary, the tiny kitsune ghoul voicing the question he had in his head.

Wren had stuck her arms through the sleeves of his jacket, which went past her finger tips. Sparrow found them beneath the cloth and took ahold of them, looking past her towards Roch, wondering the exact same thing.

Alwine had an excellent point. Malodore sidled closer to Arel. "Si, ah... if you are in pain, and we do most sincerely apologize..." It gestured to indicate the other students. "I have some minor training in mechanical healing, ah..."

Its voice trailed into silence. This was so terribly embarrassing.

His fingers were bleeding. Roch stared at them, seeing the cracks in his calloused fingertips. It was worse than any paper cut. "Jack," he whispered, letting his guitar disappear. "It's probably too late," he went on, sitting down on the rock and staring at his hands. But wait, what did it matter? The short guy might SAY no one would hear about this, but who knew if he was telling the truth?

Roch had little trust for adults, especially the ones in authority. And his fingers hurt. If this cold damaged his fingers--

He started stripping off his rings, his bracelets, even his earrings, and putting them in his pockets. Then he shoved his hands into his pockets as well, closing his eyes.

Mot watched with fascination as Pepin glitched, barely visible in the snow. What else was there to do, really? The pendant had been found, but it apparently needed to cool down. As if that was hard in this snow?

"Doing alright there, Pepin?" Mot asked with a laugh. Vieve.. had a strange hungry look in her eye. Was she staring at Arel?

Oh, was it a crush? Mot did hear that small ghouls often fell for faculty.. right? Was this the forbidden love Pepin had gone on about?

zzzt" Once more the ghoul struggled with her tangibility and pouted when it seemed to calm down, standing almost perfectly still now in the snow. "...maybe if I don't move around it'll stop?" she looked at Mot sadly. She highly doubted the reaper was willing to CARRY her.

Alwine looked over at Malodore, feeling relief when it spoke.

"I remember you from Christmas. You did a wonderful job helping heal the students there," she said. She had no doubt that Arel would be tended to with the doctor around. The fact that there were no medical supplies didn't seem to enter her mind.

The music stop, and the ghoul's worried attention wandered to the reaper that had stopped playing his music. His fingers were bloody, the cold had gotten to them. She looked back at Arel and Malodore for a moment before floating over to Roch.

"Seems I keep on losing things, but you will need this more than I. Please, hold out your hands. They will stay warmer in dry pockets, won't they?" The haunt started to unwravel the bandages around her fingertips. "I have plenty back in my room, so please don't worry. Please take it."

..... He stared at her. A ghost. Roch had no great love for ghosts, but this one sounded way more polite than he did right now. Slowly Roch pulled his hands out, offering them to her. It was an awkward show, something he probably would have denied had it been any other part of his body. But his hands--his hands were his life. If he got kicked out of school for something or other (and with how today had gone so far, he wouldn't be surprised) he could still make a damn good living if he had his hands--

Unless he got tossed into prison, that was. Jack, news of Fang getting caught was still bothering him...

"Thanks," he said quietly.
