Christof glanced between his two friends, to the trembling but hauled gears and back again. He wasn't sure what he thought about them being left behind... "Need-assistance-more-than-happy-" He signed, nervous on their behalf. "Can-keep-eye-on-state-of-wall..."

Calder looked back up at Christof. "Okay, but you have to go through first. I don't want to move him and have you left trapped behind." He knew Christof wanted to help and wanted to see his master safe and sound just like Calder did.

Herryk nodded at Barth, Calder and Christof before making his way back to Freya. With one hand he gestured that they should make their way through the wall while he threaded his fingers through hers, giving her hand a half-proud, half-reassuring squeeze.

OOC As a note, if Barth's concentration breaks, you may all still pass the wall - and Freya's scythe will be okay - but every character who passes through after that point will take -2 HP damage. Do with this information as you will!

"Okay, okay okay!" She was clearly in a better mood, and understood the need for haste. "Now we goes." And despite the fact everyone else had said to get moving, including Herryk himself, it was she who started hopping through the gate, practically dragging the Draugr behind her.

Lips pursed, he glanced to the first years to make sure they had gone through safely first before meekly backing his way through. He didn't like leaving Calder and Barth behind. Not at all. With a whine, he hovered just by the opening in case he needed to haul them through as quickly as possible- if he lost a limb, it wouldn't be as detrimental as if the others did...

Herryk immediately followed Freya through the break in the gate -- so far so good -- and only then did he glance back to see how Calder and Barth were doing.

When everyone was through and Christof was close to the gate, Calder leaned down to pick up the demon. Usually he would throw him over his back and let him ride piggy back, but this situation was delicate and needed concentration and a gentle touch. For that reason, Calder slipped his hands under Bath's legs and back and lifted him up bridal style. Holding him close, he teetered a bit, remember that Barth was lack, which meant he wasn't so heavy, but he was also tall, making it a bit of a balancing act.
Holding the boil, he smiled. Part of him said the racing in his chest was how proud he was and the worry about going through the gate, but the majority of it was what he knew. He tried not to replay that dream again. Instead, he started to head to the gate.

Barth kept thinking safe thoughts. He did not think hold back the gears. He did not think do not waiver. He did not think of the thorns curling up to stop the processes, or of anything more specific than Calder being nearby, in his own bed back at the dorm, with no pressing need to hurry or do anything but sleep.
(( concentration check, 1 - super fail, 20 - super success and everything in betweeeen.
Results: Thorns in check. ))

Calder carried his slumbering bride through the thorns, the gears, and over to safety. He continued to cradle the boil and after crossing the gate, looking to make sure everyone was on the other side. Done, Calder then slightly swayed the demon in his arms as if he was rocking him to sleep.

Freya stopped in front of the statues, looking from one, to another, and out of sheer instinct she turned to the two walking through the gears.
"Barth?" She murmured quietly. It was obvious she thought of the demon as the brains of the group already.

Barth, who still had not moved, replied, "Freya,"
Safe, secure, protection.
"You might want to retrieve your weapon."

Freya smiled when he said her name - it sounded kind of smooth, in a weird way. Sleepy demons were funny. "Okay!" She chirped, holding her hand out. The weapon dematerialized into particles of Fear as soon as her hand lifted, and the Fear returned to her, disappearing into her palm.
The sound of the gears returned, wailing at being held back by Barth's thorns. Her hand fisted closed, and she backed up a step - she was clear of the gears, but it was instinct to step back from them when she heard it, pressing back against Herryk like a supporting wall.

Barth opened his eyes, and very slowly, sat up. Even then, the thorns didn't disappear, still entwining themselves in the gears and carpet. Any sudden movement, though, and they'd all wilt into nothing. He had not yet attempted using them while walking, mostly because testing it would involve...well, walking.
"Good. Thank you, Calder," he said, slightly embarrassed. Not about the carrying. He avoided eye-contact with the room in general. "Now. ...I don't suppose anyone has err, any suggestions about the doors."

"No problem, Barth. I don't mind at all, and you did such a good job." He couldn't pat the boil on the head for his accomplishment and so instead just gave him a little, gentle sway. "I knew you could do it." Calder wasn't letting go of Barth it seemed. Not unless he asked or made a motion that he wanted down.
