Mandy had barley recovered from her last encounter with a smoke bomb when another one exploded in her face. Coughing harshly again she ran in the opposite direction to the foul thing.

If she kept triggering these traps she'd never find the time to hide!

I slide quietly into one of the floor panels of the many that line the main hallway. How could they possible discover the one he was under out of the hundreds!? But they will have to pass by and ... being vulpes, he'd imagine their sense of smell will catch on. But hopefully they will be too focused with their eyes to use their skilled nose!

Too bad I didn't take a shower today...

As Israfel returned to the gym, he was smirking. The ninja gym. A place of stealth and secrecy. Also minipets. And possibly minipet ninjas. A ninja pots. His amazingly ninja like hiding spot of the ninja pots. On his return, Israfel figured if it fooled them once, no doubt it could fool them again. After all, no one would ever think to look in the same pot he’d used to win the badge on his last visit. That would just be intelligent. Which as Israfel failed to realize, his plan was most certainly not intelligent in the least. Still the slow bird brained blue shaded siren was set on it. He’d go in, find his pot, and dive right in, just like the time.
Just like a boss. Bi-winning.

As he entered, he first had to navigate his way through the various traps. Smoke bombs, darts, weird things that were pointed and probably painful. Things he couldn’t say let alone spell. Sushi, (fish he was wary about. Surely there would be traps with fish. Most undoubtedly the traps would have some sort of fishy fate for the unlucky few. His time in other gyms had driving the siren to become wary of fish and those who cared for them.). Yes the siren was going to keep an eye out for any suspicious things. As he spent a while peeking around corners, he counted himself lucky as he was able to locate his beloved secret spot. No traps, and more importantly, no fish. He might have cried at he been assaulted with fish any more that day.

Looking around to make sure the coast was clear, ear wings pricked back and forth. So far nobody was around to watch him or spot his spot. Stepping into the pot he didn’t think it too difficult.. until he got to his wings. Cursing to himself, he spent a good while shuffling, making noise, and generally giving what little stealth he had away as the wings seemed unwilling to cooperate like they had last time. Huffing in frustration, Israfel froze as he heard the sound of someone down the hall. Probably one of the patrolling ninja vulpes the trick or treater had going around. Or maybe it was the trick or treater themselves! Panic, worry and fear shot up the siren’s spine. Israfel needed to work fast in order to not be caught and have who knew what fate befall him. Grabbing the lid, he tried to place it over him but the wings refused to allow even such a minor thing. The pot just was not working out. He needed a new plan and fast. The sound of paw pads getting louder on the floors. Shuffling, and starting to panic, Israfel looked for another spot in the room.

Then he spotted it. A fern, surely not the best spot, but the leafy green plant was still better cover than none. Dashing behind it. The door opened. And the ninja looked right at him. Right. At. His. Face. Israfel got a sense of pure dread. The vulpes raised his paw and- ZING! With a yelp, Israfel jumped out from his spot, the shuriken in his shoulder. It stung and really, what was with trick or treaters and their violent minipets? In pain, the siren whimpered at the shuriken was removed and he departed from the gym, feeling foolish. Apparently all that had transpired had been under two minutes. It had felt like hours to him. Probably due to his high levels of stress and anxiety.

All and all, he had tried his best, and though he had failed, he knew he could still return. He probably would, and when he did he was planning on not going to his pot. Or hiding behinf ferns. Candle jacking ferns.

Mandy realized what she was doing wrong.

She was thinking like a Drop Bear hiding from Ninja's. That was a hopeless mindset.

Instead she needed to think like a Ninja Drop Bear hiding from enemy Ninjas.

Revelation running through her Mandy set off looking for hiding spots in a new way, now hiding not because she wanted to win but because she had to.

After all ninjas did not treat enemy ninjas kindly so she would have to be so ninja that the ninjas didn't find her.

It did her no good, she was just a pretend ninja in the end.

Mandy really rather thought that maybe she had bitten off more than she could chew. Trying to hide from Ninjas was turning out to be an impossible feat because well... they're ninjas.

That wasn't her only problem though, she was lost.

Now she wasn't just searching to hide but also for a way out.

She almost asked the Vulpes that found her next for directions but for some reason he seemed to be in a great hurry....

Shrugging she continued searching the gym.

Mo went off to hide in the dojo once more again with a foolish grin on her face. She curled up smiling with a goofy grin as she felt another tap on her shoulder. It was the ninja vulpes he found her rather quickly again. She nodded and wondered off underneath the tree again.

Merope's hand still ached from when he tried to take on the challenge presented in Rage's gym. For that reason, he did not slide in on his belly.

This time, Merope laid on his back and used his back feet to push his way into the gym. Scoot, scoot, scoot!



Success! He managed to bypass the ground-level needle that had tripped him earlier.



...Except the vulpes still found him, and rewarded his lack of effort with another tiny shuriken.
