"Mm. From the way the Candidates were guessing, I think prevailing opinion is two atypicals and a bronze or brown from the large one there. We haven't seen a brown yet," Akaya noted, for the most part agreeing with S'koi. "Certainly that one egg is large enough to be green or even blue." If it was atypical, it would be a bit large for one. Then again, largeness compared to color seemed to be running in the clutch with the last few dragons. There was only a third or so of the clutch yet to hatch, and then they would know for sure.

As the scattered stars green surveyed the hatching grounds with a steady gaze the luminous egg rocked, wriggled and cracked just a little more, with the rocky band egg beside it echoing its movements. The small burning egg and the even smaller void egg on the other hand, which remained perfectly still for the entire hatching so far, showed no sign of movement even now. The guiding light green meanwhile made her way through the crowd of female candidates with quiet confidence. Eventually she arrived in front of Lilias, where she sat back on her haunches and hummed, her eyes swirling a warm blue.

"Lilias, it is time for you to come with your Polarith now. Let us go together and find our way in life."

Eliza watched as the brilliant flash egg came closer and closer..and then walked right past her, that was a bit disheartening but Eliza wasn't the sort to wallow - as long as the little green found hers then all would be well as far as Eliza was concerned. Her eyes had already turned towards the other dragonets in the sand when quite suddenly the earlier green appeared before her again.

"Well now I know who's who, Eliza, you simply must tell me all I've missed; your Velath wants to know every single detail!"

Eliza stared at the dragon bug-eyes for a few moments before she comprehended what this actually meant and dropped to her knees to fling her arms around the little green's neck. "I will tell you everything!" She promised the green "And you haven't met Cetalese and her's yet! Ceta's my best friend so you have to meet her right away!" She went on bubbling at the little beast before standing up and motioning towards the feeding tables where the other candidates and their impressed dragons were eating.

'Yes of course, come on lets hurry I want to meet them all...and maybe get something to eat too, I'm quite hungry Elizamine'

"Don't worry we'll get you something to eat too" Eliza promised the little dragon as they made their way across the sands with Eliza grinning like a fool.

Jayden watched as things picked up again - several greens impressed along with a seriously gigantic blue, Jayden of course hadn't seen too many blue by by the comments of his fellow candidates he had gathered that this one was quite a bit larger then most. Well..that had to be a good thing right? A nice big sturdy fellow. The blue however didn't seem to be interested in him and so patiently waited for the other eggs to finish hatching.

The queen and her companion-egg seemed just a smidge closer to breaking shell, though by the looks of the situation it could be awhile yet. It seemed a bit strange the queen would wait until so comparatively late to show herself--well, or she'd been quite confident at the Touching, perhaps she was merely taking her time with things. The two smaller eggs seemed as if they might indeed be needing a bit of shovel-assistance to break shell, and Lena still didn't have a firm guess of what may lay within them.

The ladylike green was quiet in her searching, finding Hers with a gentle humming. Lena didn't know the girl who'd Impressed very well, but surely with a sweet dragon like that, much couldn't go wrong with that pair! Now, as for the green still on the sands...where would she choose to go?

'Mine! Mine I think the streaky colored green has impressed to Lilas!' Plexith excitedly commented to his rider - D'lin had the feeling that if the bronze had been human and sitting beside him he likely would have been trying to shake him to death in excitement. IT wasn't the gold Plexith had been hoping for of course but then the bronze probably didn't even remember hoping that anymore and was simply glad that his favorite Candidate had impressed. The dragon even went so far as to warble excitedly outloud.

D'lin could understand the sentiment..he was glad Lilas had impressed too and unlike his dragon D'lin didn't care which color she had been chosen by, a dragon was a dragon as far as he was concerned and he smiled and cheered for his friend and her very pretty new green.

S'koi nodded along in non-verbal agreement. Whatever the case was, he was sure that at least a few more Candidates would be walking away from the Sands tonight quite pleased. The rest... Well, he did not really wish to imagine that level of dejection.

Ah, another green Impression. She was quite a lovely one too. Just a few eggs left then...

The scattered stars egg seemed indecisive. This worried him a little, though he was more concerned about the burning egg and void egg. Apparently there were less atypicals than he thought. Too many of the eggs he pegged as atypicals hatched into greens. By this point he was also starting to wonder if the mystweed might be responsible for the marked increase in greens this hatching. Maybe it was just his imagination, but there seemed to be more than usual. The mother would have to break those two eggs open soon so they could find their lifemates. Although he was curious about the queen and eager to see what emerged from the rocky band egg, for the moment his concentration was focused on the two potential atypicals.

"The short one, or the really short one? Oh wait, one of the short one's got more black hair than brown," E'lai said, leaning over slightly as he peered down to try and identify the girl in question. Still, as another Impression was made and it didn't seem to be S'ren's "friendly acquaintance", odds were falling off for the girl. Hopefully she was one that didn't mind so much? E'lai didn't really know what it was like to be left standing, since Eltimioth had seen fit to chose him his first attempt as a candidate.

"The less short one," S'ren confirmed. "With the more brown hair. Though the odds don't appear very good at the moment for her." Not that she would care overly much, but as a dragonrider himself he knew what a joy it was to have a dragonic partner. If not this Turn, then perhaps her luck may favor her better the next... In the meantime it would be back to Candidate duties. ... Nope, he definitely didn't miss those days. In the meantime, it appeared that two more of the eggs would be hatching soon.

Well, so far it had been a good hatching! A healthy number of greens, nobody had died in the dragon rampage, a big handsome bronze, a great big blue and of course that angry blue who Opeth could bond with over being a grump or possibly despise and thus have something to grump about. Grinning to herself Xan peered down at the last unbonded green, and then looked over at the unhatched eggs. "Looks like a couple of atypes?" she said to nobody in particular. "Either that or they're just waiting to jump out and surprise everyone." Or they were true duds. That wasn't a nice thought at all.

"Duds, atypes too weak to survive, dragons who already know their rider is not there and see no point in striving to hatch," suggested Opeth, the eternal optimist.

Xan ignored him.

Akaya wasn't sure of the level of dejection possible either, though she'd had time to contemplate it briefly on her own stint on the Sands. She'd likely have simply gone back to her craft, all things considered. Sleeth had made the best of both worlds possible--dragonriding and music paired together, and someday they would would Weyrsinger, Akaya was certain of it.

She was a little sad her seat-companion had lapsed back into silence, though she couldn't really fault him. She wasn't even quite sure he remembered the last time they'd met...or whether she even wanted him to remember! She rather hoped not too many of the girls (or the boy) newly Impressed to greens would have the Flight-worries she'd had as a candidate; she didn't wish those on anyone.

Cetalese lifted further up on her knees, where she had sunk after crouching became uncomfortable. The sands were beginning to burn through her robes, but she would fix that soon enough. Right now she was keeping her eyes on Eliza, to make sure her friend knew where to come when her hatchling was ready to eat. They'd both Impressed Green, which meant that it was very likely that they would be in the same wing when the time came for them to join one. Cetalese felt a small wash of relief at the thought.

Oh! Velath! Halith called out, not having had the opportunity to meet her sister yet. How she already knew her name, Ceta wasn't sure. She bugled loudly at her sister from across the Sands, though the other Green had made no attempts to move toward the tables yet. She sat back on her haunches and began fanning her wings excitedly. You've found Yours! How exciting! Quick! I'll run to you and--

No, Halith. Velath can make it over here on her own. Have you had enough to eat? Her eyes weren't whirling red at all anymore, but Cetalese wanted to be sure.

I could use a little more, Halith admitted, looking beseechingly at Cetalese before looking back to Velath and Eliza. She folded her wings back, but didn't sit back, looking anxious for her sister to get there since Velath's was friends with Hers.

He remembered her quite well actually, though his silence had nothing to do with their prior meeting. He was simply quiet by nature.

S'koi wouldn't have really been surprised if he himself had not actually Impressed his first time around, but... he didn't think he'd have returned to his Hold. At least not right away. Actually, even since Impressing he had not returned to pay his family a visit, despite writing to them often. None of his family had ever met his beloved Laith, not for shame of the green, but simply because he had divorced himself from that life once he had accepted the Searchrider's invitation. Perhaps.. someday he would return and give them a visit. He did rather miss his younger siblings after all. Just... not yet.

I will be here for you should you ever feel ready to return, Laith whispered into his mind, providing comfort and encouragement to Hers.

I know you will. Thank you. ... My family would love you.

A Blue! Gauden studied the bold, dark markings on the Blue right up to the time it passed through the front line of boys down the way and he caught sight of it Impressing to another boy in the middle of the pack. Well. Although he'd been dubious about whether he wanted a dragon, Gauden was starting to feel a little... anxious. Not even good anxiety. The bad kind, where you get the feeling things aren't going to end well. Sometime between walking onto the Sands and now he'd decided that he did want to become a dragonrider. Well, he'd come up with a great excuse for his father, hadn't he? It shouldn't go to waste.

As he watched the luminous and rocky band eggs rock, he told himself that was the only reason.
