"We won't have to kill him at least not yet." Vincent said as he took out a needle from his medic pack, "This should hold it off for awhile," he injected an antidote that doesn't cure but stops it from spreading too fast.

James watched him, "Is there a cure?" he asked, "There has to be a cure, if you can stop it." he said.

He whimpered, frowning and looking down, "I'm still going to turn into one of them, this is just holding off the inevitable." He sniffled, a tear falling onto the ground.

"It's not a cure, it's a temporary remedy that helps fight it off for awhile," Vincent said looking down. "There is no cure for this, at least none that I know of, I'm sorry."

James couldn't help but let a tear go, and he hugged him, not caring if he got infected or not, "I can't let you die..." he said.

Vincent put his paw and James's shoulder feeling sad, "I'm sorry James, but there is nothing else I could do since we are stuck up here, we could have a chance to save him, but it is risky."

James looked at Vincent, "There is?!" he exclaimed, "What? Tell me!" he had an almost feral look in his eye.

Chaos whimpered as he sat onto the ground, looking down and continuing to whimper.

James looked at Chaos, "Don't worry, I'm going to get you out of this, you hear?" he said, "Don't give up!"

Chaos continued to whimper, his whimpering turning into a low growl. He looked up at James with a frown, "James, I can feel the infection flowing through me. I'm not going to make it... That 'vaccine' isn't helping me at all." He pulled out the ring that he was supposed to give to his mate, "Take this to remember me, and if you ever find my mate, keep her safe and tell her I love her. I love you, James." He sighed and let out a sudden yelp, his right paw started to turn into a claw.
He whimpered and ran to the ladder, sliding down it and running as far away as he could, his teeth started to grow razor sharp. He started to turn feral, his eyes now feral. He suddenly stopped and let out a low growl, the infection taking him over. He let out a howl and looked down, sitting down and starting to cry, him still having his mind intact because of the vaccine, his mind was sane but his body was a monster.

James looked in horror, and he looked at the ring, "No... no this isn't happening..." he looked at his pistols, "This has got to end sometime..." he grabbed one and looked at it, "I can't live with this."

Chaos fought himself, fighting his infected side, he growled loadly, he let out a gasp, his brain fighting off the infection, but his body was infected. He ran towards the the roof, trying to fight himself from killing James, he climbed back up the ladder and got back up, looking with horror as James held a pistol, knowing he was going to kill himself. He crouched down and looked at him, whimpering, shaking his head. He coughed a bit, clearing his throat, continuing to whimper, he let out a little, "Don't do this."

James looked at him, "Why? What do I have to live for?" he asked, "Just kill me, Chaos. Do it. I won't make it out alive" he put his hands on his shoulders, "You can't leave me."

Vincent just stood there watching, he couldn't do anything at this point now. He had his own pistol ready for whatever happened, he knew something was going to happen soon.

Chaos whimpered, shaking his head, "I-I can't kill you, you're my friend, my body may be infected, but for some reason, my mind wasn't affected by it. I won't leave you, my mind fought the infection and won. Just be careful with me, I might have little outbursts." He mustered up the energy to give him a smile, "I'm going to be ok. Just don't touch my claws or tempt me with blood, or I might lose it. I'll make sure that you make it out alive, if I have to claw every zombie out of the way." He whimpered a bit and nuzzled into his shoulder, murring.
