Harmony Trumarie...
When Professor Benoit spoke her name, Harmony's head popped up. She withheld a groggy what? The headache she had from her non-verbal spell was still there, and it wasn't abating. Despite the woman's euphonious voice, she wasn't pleased at this added agitation. The Slytherin nodded, and then smiled politely when addressed in the rhetorical question. 'I get the point Madame Benoit...' She thought, at the woman's last mocking comment. Answering the question, the brunette said calmly, "of course, professor." She bowed her head slightly; a sign of respect.
Harmony picked up her Standard Book of Spells, Grade 3 from her school bag, and then leafed through the index looking for the pages with Four-Point Spell's information. '73,' she thought, noting the page number as she turned to it. The girl quickly read the paragraphs for the charm, and then cleared her throat. Her headache wasn't letting off, in fact, it was getting worse. 'I'll sleep this sucker off...' She thought optimistically.
"Point Me," she murmured softly. Her wand twitched, and got warm, but it did nothing. "Point Me..." The Slytherin said again, this time with more authority in her lovely voice. Her wand trembled and shook, and then took on the compass-like nature it was enjoined to. The thing flitted towards the North.
...Third Year, Slytherin

((Remind me, as I now realize I'm unsure. Has Harmony actually performed that spell before? I thought she did, but I couldn't find it when I looked back....if she hasn't, then I apologize, I had meant for those who are new to wait until we did it together.
If you were here when we went over the spell for your group, please continue coming up to perform it. I am continuing so that everyone who hasn't does not get too bored. I will respond to your posts. If you feel the need, for example if you struggle with your spell, then please also listen to the lecture for your year.))
Cerise watched the girl struggle once before completing the spell. It surprised her, as it was likely easier than performing a silent Hover Charm. Without any pity or other emotion in her voice, she informed her, "You will have another chance to try the spell at the end of class." She could tell something might be wrong, but what she did not know.
Standing, she walked around the edge of her desk, leaning slightly against it. "I will begin with the first years to practice the Hover Charm. Those who have already learned it may participate if they wish." Her eyes did not lay on anyone's face, but her tone hinted that some might need it. With a soft clearing of her throat, she tapped her board with her wand. Instantly the letters jumped up, and inched over, making room for her new information while still providing the notes for those who have not finished to copy.
"The Hover Charm." she announced, the words appearing behind her, followed by the spell, Windgardium Leviosa. Below, grew a list of details, but this time each section was blank: Board Windgardium Leviosa: Hover Charm Description: Etymology: Pronunciation: Wand Movement: Smiling, as she truly did enjoy to teach, simply despised children, she continued. "Though usually we will go over history together, for this charm I want you to come up with five instances on your own. This may be done during class or afterward. I expect it next Monday." The message passed, she kept lecturing. "I'm assuming by its name everyone can guess, if you don't already know, that the Hover Charm levitates objects. You are given minor control over the object, but if you truly wish to move it far, there are better charms for that, which you shall learn later." Her eyes slid through the crowd, checking for those not following her as her words appeared, filling in the blank of Description: levitates objects.
"Each spell has a source. It is its link to its origins. The words, though they frequently seem foreign to us, each mean something, giving power to the spell. This spell has three parts to it. The first is quite clear: wing such as a bird's wing, arduus, meaning heights and levis for light, as in not heavy." Once more her words filled in the empty space.

Melody Laurentia Hillyard" Sorry Professor and i've finished copying the lines. " Melody slumped back in her chair. " Guess i shouldn't have try casting the spell. Gryffindor lost five points just like that. " She thought, disappointed with herself for not following direction.

Meiko paused as she noticed that the professor was busy teaching the younger students, so she decided to stay in her usual place, watching them quietly as she sat.

Not interrupting herself, Cerise waved her wand, silently lifting the Standard Book of Spells 1-6 she had given her onto her desk. A hint to go through it and list the spells she was weak with.

(I am a first year Gryffindor, and I don't know how to do the crest thing, and my internets been down for a few days) Drago goes to the front of the class, lifts his 12.5" Yew, Dragon Heartstring wand toward the feather and, consentraiting really hard, shouted "Windgardium Leviosa!" and the feather exploded into millions of tiny cinders. Drago puts his head down, embarrassed at what happened, and sits back down. He quickly copies down the note on the board.

((Just putting Gryffindor first year in your posts is fine; you can even make it red if it suits you. If you want to learn how, right click on this or this . About the third link down is "copy image location." Merely click on that and paste it between the [ img ] [ /img ](without spaces) and viola! You have it. Also, I want the newcomers to finish copying the notes on Charms, bewitch, etc. Then I want each year to work with me. Only those who have performed the spell before should come up to my desk to practice it for me. The rest should be following along with my lecture.))
Seeing yet another newcomer come to the desk, she announced, "As you did not learn from Melody, five points from Gryffindor again. For not following my directions." Professor Benoit continued, though she was displeased by the lack of writing the first years seemed to be doing. Still she spoke. "Each charm has a specific wand movement in order to strengthen the spell. While officially it could be done without the wand movement, it is difficult for beginner's to manage. This wand movement is a simple swish and flick" As she demonstrated, the words appeared on the board. "Now all first years, even those who have done this before, try the movement, swish and flick. Newcomers, please watch those who know the spell, and follow their and my example." Then she stepped forward, going throughout the younger students to show them the proper movement.

Gryffindor first year
Drago looked down at his parchment. Damn it, I should have paid attention to the rest of the class instead of staring into space! He yelled at himself in his head.

((Please don't truly worry about points taken away Drago, a) Gryffindor's way ahead, and b) Professor Benoit exists because there should be a teacher that's terribly disliked for a while at least.))
Confident a majority of the class understood the proper movement and eager to continue/finish the lesson she nodded to the class, "Wands down for a moment please. You are doing quite well. Now for the pronunciation." While the phrase appeared on the board, she wrote it out in red lettering in the air as she spoke. "win-GAR-dee-um leev-ee-OH-sa!" board Windgardium Leviosa: Hover CharmPronunciation: win-GAR-dee-um lev-ee-OH-sa Etymology: ‘wing’ as in a bird’s wing. ‘arduus’ as in heights; ‘levis’ light (not heavy) Description: Levitates objects. Wand Movement: swish and flick She lead the class in pronouncing it until she felt everyone had it properly. "Remember mispronounce any spell and sometimes nothing will happen; other times explosions will." She levitated a feather to each of the first years' desk. "You may practice now. Once you feel like you can perform it properly, please come up and do so for me. I will only give you one chance, so be careful." Nodding once more she added on, "If you have time you may start the homework in class: list five instances the Hover Charm could have been used in the past."
Believing everyone was done copying the basics of Charms, she erased it with a flick of her wand, before letting the new outline appear in its place. board: 3rd and 4th years Point Me: The Four Point Spell Pronunciation: Description: Wand Movement: History: Her voice increased to fill the room once more, still delicate enough to be ignored if desired, she nodded towards the board, a hint to copy it down. "The pronunciation of this spell is simple, as it is a newer version, and therefore in English. I'm sure all of you can say Point me." She smiled, as the words took their place. "It is used to find directions. Now, can any mug-" she cut herself off, fear flashing in her eyes, she didn't want to endanger any of her children, so she was avoiding the topic. "Can anyone tell me what object this spell is similar to?"

Melody Laurentia Hillyard Melody quickly scribbled the notes down and looking at how the others did for the spell, Melody practiced her wand movement, swish and flick, before she start practicing on the spell. Swishing and flicking, she concentrated and said the spell, " Windgardium Leviosa! " With the right pronunciation and the correct movement, the feather levitates and reached only half of the distance between her desk and the ceiling before settling back down slowly. As Melody was determined to get it well done, she keeps practicing until she was satisfied with her performance. First Year Gryffindor

Blaine quickly finished copying down the notes and practiced on the feather on her desk. She did the wand movements a few times and said the spell in her head before she actually tried it. "Windgardium Leviosa!" The feather floated about a foot off the desk before Blaine lost her concentration. Concentrate, Blaine. You aren't going to learn anything by not paying attention. she thought to herself. "Windgardium Leviosa!" She was a bit more pleased with her results, but was determined to get it as close to perfect as she could. When she was finally pleased with her results she went up to the professor. "Windgardium Leviosa!" she said firmly. The feather floated up and stayed in the air for a few seconds before slowly coming back down. Blaine was grinning as she went back to her desk.
