"There may not be gravity there, but..." Malodore said, studying the floating students, the frown it couldn't physically manage still evident in its voice. "It's not a vacuum in here. Those with wings should be able to use them to gain purchase against the air, and move that way..."

Whether or not that would actually work? No idea. One thing was certain, though - the plague doctor had made its decision. It was staying on the stairs.

As Sharra slowly pivoted Riley upright, she managed to make a pouty expression at Jericho. It's incomparable. We're not moving, we're just floating here. There is no exhilaration to be felt from floating like this. It's.. boring.

Why had she jumped off the fun-stairs again?

She kept a hold of Sharra's hand, because if something managed to give them a source of gravity, she refused to go flying off alone. She took one long, circling look at the above and the below, trying to discern which way was up.

It probably would have been smart to somehow keep note of what direction was up before we walked through the door.. Jack knows I've lost all sense of awareness. But that was her own fault, really.

"That's a good point..." Sharra murmured, seeming almost put-out at himself for not thinking of such a thing upon entering the stairway. It really would have come in handy. "But then again, we didn't know that the stairs were never-ending when we first headed in here." Ah well, couldn't do to have them sitting here bored for eternity.

Cautiously, he extended his other hand to Riley, "Let's see if we can't make some semblance of motion together, mmm?" Couldn't have a mindflayer sitting here with naught better to do than twiddle about merrily inside their brains, now could they? Almost amusing himself with that thought (trying very hard not to think about the mess they'd been in earlier), the nergal rather cautiously put a hand on the ghoul's waist, and went to twirl her about, just to see if such a thing would work.

Without the limits of gravity, he rather supposed that there were now a myriad of possibilities at their claw-tips.

It was something to do until whatever doom was approaching came upon them.

Riley felt that was a clever idea, using the force of one to propel the other. At least, that's what she thought Sharra had in mind. When she took his other hand, she expected to feel him lift her up, but instead she found herself twirling. While the effect still held the same revelation - that they could indeed move each other - it served a further purpose. She unexpectedly laughed as she was twirled away and back again. Who but Sharra would think to try dancing while floating in mid-air?

Well, that was successful. Her words were strung with a ribbon of laughter that wrapped around the sound of her voice, like a separate entity snaking around the sound. If we can find out which way is up, I bet we could reach it together. She punctuated her words by switching her hand in his so that she reigned control, and twirled him out just as he had done to her. When she tugged back, the lack of gravity made movement slow, but easy.

At least now I don't regret jumping off the stairs.

The nergal grinned roguishly, rather entertained by her obvious surprise and pleasure. All right, well some parts of this trip had turned out not to be utterly abysmal, so best cherish it whilst they still had it. "Mmm...up or down, at least we've about a fifty percent chance of doing so..." Glancing around at everyone else, he tilted his head back, trying not to lean so far that he overbalanced into nothingness. "Anyone remember which way is up?" A call to their companions. Doubtful, but he could always hope.

A rather bemused quirk still fixed on the boil's lips, he spun back in towards Riley, finding their atmosphere decidedly surreal. Honestly, it was all very beautiful in a way, if you ignored the whole insanity bit beforehand, and the looming figure seeming to wait for them up top. Ah well... And with that, he spun her...upwards this time, but still keeping a grasp on her, putting the ghoul's head a good two feet above him, as he was using his longer, nergal-limb, though he was being oh so very careful with those claws this time. Attention to details...it could make or break such an endeavor.

"And that, my friend, was the intent." He replied easily, the spines along his back making soft clicking sounds as they rose and fell, echoing the boil's mood.

"No idea - there are windows here and there, but they aren't really useful one way or the other," Malodore called back to Sharra, gesturing at the one it had passed a few steps back. "It's nothing but grey; light seems diffused from all directions." The windowframe was even perfectly, unhelpfully square.

It did actually grin a little at Riley and Sharra's antics, though. It kind of would serve the figure right for them to have fun, wouldn't it? "Could one of you dragons try moving your wings? Maybe you can break out of the null-gravity area and get over towards the stairs?"

... Well, Malodore's idea of fun was science.

Hearing Malodore's voice had her looking over at it just before being spun up in the air. She snickered at the feeling, but her laughter was cut short when she felt something - she couldn't exactly register what, but there was definitely a sense of blockage - that had her drifting down very slowly to return to Sharra. Her face scrunched up in dismay.

Well that answers that question.. something is definitely keeping us here. She experimented with the phenomenon one more time, putting both of her hands on Sharra's shoulders and pushing herself up quite forcefully in an attempt to gain enough momentum to shoot upward. Her momentum was stifled as she slowly grinded to a halt, and floated back down to his arms. She let out a quick sigh, and her eyes slit to one side as they glared for a moment at the hooded figure. There was only one thing left to do in this situation, until he decided to free them. Just keep dancing.

I find this entire situation to be something of a metaphor for life.

Mandy gave a huff and rolled her eyes when the demoness and red dragon charged by her and after the figure only to pause as the stairs... Shifted.

Well that was odd. Watching as one by one everyone went forward onto them, and a few right off them Mandy hesitantly started her climb. She just didn't want to get off the original stairs and have who knows what happen when this illusion finished.

If it was an illusion. Either way Mandy resolutely stayed on the stairs. She wasn't going to test the air when she knew her natural ability wasn't working, when gravity started up again being out there was going to be painful.

Aksaja watched in an amused sort of fashion as Sharra 'danced' with Riley in mid-air and the two of them tried to get some kind of momentum going. And he also found himself very much wishing that he did have his wings just now. Somehow, he had the feeling it would make things easier. Maybe.

Glancing over to Sheridan, he tilted head slightly. "Does moving your wings do anything?" he asked the other dragon - a hint of jealousy in his tone. Why did the stupid squid have to throw him in the water? Ugh.

Arachne was also watching the pair as they drifted about, dancing it seemed. She wasn't feeling adventurous enough to join them as she couldn't see how to get back on the stairs once you were out there, and so she stayed on the stairs, looking around and down them for any sign of Sepheran or Elizabeth.

As curious as Jericho was on the whole flight in the middle of the air thing, he didn't want to leave the stairs in the case it didn't work. Seeing how Aksaja currently lacked those limbs, it was up to Sheridan to give it a shot. Seeing the others floating around was a tempting sight, however, especially with how Sharra and Riley were dancing around.

But for now, he just continued wandering around the stairs a little longer, trying to see if he could actually get anywhere.

It was too bad he couldn't really produce enough wind to try and propel the others for that matter. Well, actually it couldn't hurt to try. Making sure he had good footing, he started to flap his wings at the others to see if he could actually make any of them move.

Ah! Malodore nodded with approval. "Excellent hypothesis, Jericho!"

((need to make a decision quickk I'll respons to any people I missed in a sec BD;

HP: 22))

Astra watched as a few people decided to brave the non gravity and jumped off, floating around in mid air. It was fun to watch them dance about, but she hadher reservations in joining them. She didn't feel capable of flying for to long, and even if they were floating...what if it was some of trap? However, she wasn't sure about walking up all those stairs...it seemed they would be endless.

oohh! why did she have to be so indecisive about these things?!

Eventually making up her mind, she Stayed on the stairs, Preferring the sfaer option for the meantime.

Lizzy, having watched the rest of their little group try the stairs, thought about Mac's previous comment... And decided that it was time to try it themselves. The stairs looked fairly normal as she dragged both Mac and Charlie by their arms (she still had her arms hooks to theirs!) over to climb that very first step - and realized that they were 'trapped' in some sort of a stairs-maze the moment they started to climb. If watching it was fairly amusing, actually being in it took half the fun away.

"This... Is sort of interesting though," She mused out loud, wondering if she could float too, if she pushed herself off the stairs. Letting go of both boils in case they had other plans, she jumped backwards and found herself floating above the stairs, behind both boils. Reaching out to tap Charlie on his shoulder, she giggled.

"YOU GUYS SHOULD TRY THIS." She grinned, having way too much fun for someone who had been feeling down in the dumps just a moment ago. If this is what flying is remotely like, its fun.

Just not as fun with a creeper watching your every move and listening to your every word.

There sure were a lot of strange happenings dealing with this light house. Though Charlie found it way amusing when Lizzy, Mac and him self had started up the stairs that actually seemed like they were never ending. And then before Charlie knew what was what, Lizzy had jumped and started floating.

Lizzies grin was enough proof for Charlie (not that he needed proof) that the waters were fine so to speak. And off the ledge of the stairs the pink haired demon went. Just like Lizzy Charlie was floating now and having a great time. His wings helped him to glide to the other pink haired demon with ease. Not that it was a complete blessing to attract Charlie over to you at this point. The boil smelt of rotting food for crying out loud.

"WHOAH This is more fun then a ball pit! A freaking BALL PIT Lizzy!" The demon attempted a summer salt but failed half way threw and found him self floating upside down. Charlie flailed.

"EVERYTHINGS UP SIDE DOWN WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!?"
