((So basically, they're just outside a hidden "subway" station which is now sealed shut, standing in an alley, and the fire nation citizens are scrambling in chaos amongst festival decorations.)) Kaito led Tally out of the alley and into the open area littered with stalls. Nothing looked right. Stalls were knocked over, and people were scrambling about. Suddenly, the positive atmosphere he felt around him only moments before was replaced by a sweeping dread as he realized - the fire nation was probably being invaded. He didn't pause to wonder who or why - he didn't have a chance to - his gourd drew suspicion and a pair of firebending troops closed in from the sides and punched a few bursts of fire.
On instinct, he spun around wrapping his left arm around Tally's waist to hold her close enough so she wouldn't be hit by the flames, while he swept his right open palm across, reaching behind his back, to turn the water vapor into a quick ice barrier. He twirled his hand in a few quick motions to strengthen the barrier, but it tanked just over a half-dozen fiery strikes before it inevitably lost all structural integrity and dissipated into steam. The gourd behind his back momentarily caught fire, and as he doused it a split second later, his mind became more battle-alert than he'd ever been before. One of the attackers scoffed, "So you can bend... If you two kids are smart, you'll come with us quietly. We will use force if you resist."He let go of Tally and took a battle stance in front of her. They weren't about to take either of them prisoner as long as he was there, and he wasn't going down without a fight.

WhiteWingtip (( I usually don't complain to a large degree but you kind of just made Kiva's post irrelevant and the action that she put in there stop dead... Personally in my head I thought that the two guards [who agreed to come in together, and were outside the door pretty much directly across from Zuko's cell] turned into one guard that would randomly miss seeing them and only get the corridor... this is what I imagined when the prison is described in the last posts: --------------------------------------------------___-------- O--O--O--O--|____|____|____|____|. . . . . . .| J. . . . . . . . . ____.____.___.____._____. . .| O--O--O--O--|. . . .|. . . .|. . . .|. . . .|. .Z. .| . . | ---------------------------------------------------------------| So "O" are cooling cells and the weird "|_____|" things are actual jail type cells with stone walls and such. So you guys entered from "J" and "Z" is Zuko, and the guards are right outside that crazy "--___--" door... don't you think they would've pretty much came in when Iroh had finished taking off Zuzu's restraints and spend an insane amount of time on the actual bars of the cell? Why not just cut the lock off? Seems a whole lot simpler and less time consuming. I don't know, I was just really confused. Forgive my complaining and strange diagram, but my imagination is cool like that and won't let me off without venting my insanity. P.S: the diagram works better if you see it when quoted. )) ((No, no, that's all right. 3nodding I usually don't get any feedback on what I post, so your analysis here is very helpful. And your diagram is really good.
Ok, so I get what you're saying, and I deleted my post. See, what I thought was that Zuko was a little farther down the corridor closer to the cooling cells.
--------------------------------------------------___-------- O--O--O--O--|____|____|____|____|. . . . . . .| J. . . . . .■. . . ____.____.___.____.▼___. .| O--O--O--O--|. .Z. .|. . . .|. . . .|. . . .|. . . .| . . | ---------------------------------------------------------------|
⇧ That's what I thought. (■=Kallan, Iroh, and Jezabel, ▼=two guards) Otherwise, Kallan wouldn't have heard him trying to break out. It also has the extra bonus of being out of the direct sight of the guards, who probably would have noticed Zuko messing around with the cuffs anyways.
But for the most part, you're correct. My apologies. Kiva, I'll just wait for you to post again before posting.))

Jezabel Star Earth Nations Fire Bender Jezebel slipped around the corner coming face to face with the two guards. Her long black hair floating around her face as her fan's came out and she took a battle stance. Not many here knew of the Kyoshi warriors so it made her life easier, after all when you look like your going to fight with fans it seems foolish. Her eyes and face remained blank as she moved quickly. She could not afford to let the guards make to much noise. "How did you-" The first guard only got out three words before two small feet landed squarely on his chest, knocking him over. These guards were faster then the other two. The second guard got off a good shot of fire right on her left arm burning her skin. She forced the smell to the back of her mind, as she spun at him with a high kick. The guard was trained well and caught her leg easily and tossed her in to the wall with a sickening thump. Then she feel back to the ground and forced her self to stand up. "You will pay for what you have done." He spoke as he helped the first guard up. Jezebel smiled as she got back in to fighting stance. She waited for them to attack her, this time the second guard rushed in first and she jumped over him making him crash in to the wall. while the first guard tried to firebend a fire ball at her, missing by an inch and burning her hair. These were not guards they were soldiers, she relised as she fought.

((Don't worry, Sanguine. I totally understand.
Okeydoke, post attempt number 2! biggrin ))
Kallan looked carefully at the severed chain link and reached through the bars. Zuko had nearly gotten it off, but his hands were unable to turn to the angle needed to finish the job. "This'll just take a second." With a little jiggling, she managed to slip the chain link out of the chain.
By this time, she could hear the sounds of Jezabel fighting the guards. Iroh looked at her and asked, "Can you pick locks?" When she shook her head, he sighed and lit a flame at the tip of his index finger. The more he focused it, the brighter it became.
"Help Jezabel. Zuko and I will work on getting him out."
She nodded and took the cap off of her water skin, heading towards the tussle. She arrived just in time to see one of the guards nearly blast Jezabel's head off. The fight was getting louder, and in these dungeon corridors, sound would bounce off the stone and echo for a while. Kallan immediately pulled the water out of the skin and sent it out as a tentacle to wrap around the foot of one of the guards. He stumbled, and turned with a curse on his lips. He didn't have a chance to utter it, though, because she engulfed his head with water and froze it. He flailed wildly, unable to see, still trying to firebend at her. The other made a blade of fire and swung at her.

Tally was about to fight against Kaito's grip when she realized what was going on. Her body stopped moving as she watched him fend off the fire bender, why? The fire nation was supposed to be at peace and they were being attacked. Kaito had been hurt by them enough, she was not going to stand here and let him get taken away. Or herself for that matter. "You're going to have to use force." Tally glared at the guard taking up a fighting stance next to Kaito. "Your call" The attackers feet left the ground as he threw a jet of fire with his kick. Her confidence did not waiver, she had decided on the train that with Kaito she would be fine and here she was drawing the water from her gourd and jumping over the fire "Run!" She yelled at the boy slashing the fire bender in the face.

Remaining in the streets Shoji remained silent, there were guards everywhere and he had no intrest in leaving. It was probably stupid but it was too risky to leave Azula to her planning. His bone bending was a poor example of what he could do but he could try it if he got close enough even if he could only use the technique to shatter them. Without the use of an arm or leg even Azula would be vulnerable. Pausing to think over the idea he sighed knowing it was practicly scuicidal, but he'd come here to prevent any plot by the fire nation and this was his best means to do so.

Jezabel Star Earth Nations Fire Bender Jezebel ducked just as the second threw a fireball at her. She smiled when Kallan joined the fray, not that she was expecting her to, but it was nice to have help. When Kallan used water bending Jezebel stuck that in the back of her mind to ask her at a later time. The guard with the frozen head quickly found himself on the ground. Now that she wasn't the sole target it would be a bit easier. Not by a lot, but the water bending helped. Her small feet knocked the guard down, as she hit him square in the back. She quickly shattered his elbow and dislocated his shoulder. The Ice muffled the cry of pain. She stood up as she let the injured soldier roll on the ground. Most benders were not used to dealing with pain to that degree. Fire nation soldiers were able to handle pain given to them by other benders, they could easily fight off earth benders and other fire benders it was the water benders that were a bit of a problem. How ever the second a normal girl like her got that close and caused damage with her bare hands it was harder to take. Because her strikes were exact and precise. Dropping her guard for that second after she broke the soldiers arm proved to be a rather foolish move and once she felt the burning on her back she knew it. However her face showed no sign of pain instead she dropped to her knees and rolled under the fire kicking the guard in his side until he stopped fire bending. HEr right arm hung rather limp and her back was burnt relatively badly but she smiled as she moved close behind the soldier with the fire sword and made a table top. hopeing Kallan would be able to get him to step back enough so she could trip him.

(( Sorry guys, I can't stay on long enough to write an entire rp post. I have a term paper due on Monday so if you see me online any time this weekend please kick me back to my work. I really can't rp right at this moment, but hopefully I'll have a little time to post next week. So Irako you can just drag Zuzu along for the ride for now. He won't be able to do much with his broken rib anyways besides help to deflect fire based attacks. So with that said, I hope you guys understand and I'm really sorry I can't post atm ))

Kaito took a few steps back, but he insisted, "I'm not leaving without you."
While Tally attacked first, he waved an arm in a circle and drew it upward into a fist. A swirl of mist condensed around the two firebenders' legs, quickly encasing the lower half of their bodies in ice. Icebending of this capacity (from water vapor, no less) in a span of a few seconds was beginning to tire him. While their attackers were dazed and stunned on the ground, Kaito called out to Tally, "Let's go! We need to get out of here!" He turned, prepared to run for it, but he wouldn't leave her behind."Damn brats..." one of the guards muttered. While his partner was busy thawing the ice, he raised a finger to his lips with a flame at the tip. With a deep breath, he blew a ferocious, scorching hot flame at the kids. Flamethrowers were his strong point, and he'd be sure to put it to use if these kids were such a bother.

As Jezabel neutralized the other guard, Kallan was able to reclaim her water and reform it into an icy shield. The other guard's fire blade hit it, causing the ice to crack loudly. With a few swift arm movements, Kallan melted the ice and sent it upwards to engulf the sword and the guard's arm. He stepped backward, trying to keep his arm away from her water, but tripped over Jezabel, who'd gotten on her hands and knees behind him for that specific purpose. He fell back and whacked his head hard on the wall, slumping down without another sound.
Kallan drew her water back towards herself, floating it in a sphere near her midsection as she looked around. She nodded with satisfaction, seeing that the threat was over for the moment. Then Jezabel groaned, wincing in pain. Kallan saw that the back of her tunic had been burned away and the skin underneath was blistered and cracked. Her right arm was also turned at an odd angle. It looked like it was broken.
There was a clank of metal and she turned to see Zuko stepping out of the cell through the door. Iroh held the lock, having cut it free from the door. He also had a pained look on his face.
"We must hide those guards. Once they wake up, they'll call for help."
"Fine, but Jezabel and Zuko both need help. I can't do much more than relieve pain and start the healing process a little sooner, and only that on surface wounds. Let me take care of that first."
Kallan pulled the water over her hands like a pair of gloves and went to Jezabel first, since she had the worst injuries.
"This is going to hurt a lot. I'm going to set your arm back in place. Bite down on something so you don't scream."

Jezabel Star Earth Nations Fire Bender Jezebel smiled at Kallan when the guard fell over her, she let out a small giggle, table topping people was always fun, even more so when the person couldn't get back up. Speaking of getting back up Jezebel was having a hell of a time moving because of her back and her arm. It was fine until she tried to stand up straight, that was when a groan of pain left her lips and she grabbed her broken arm. "Damn this is a lot more painful then training." She said with a smile as she looked up to see Zuko free from his cell. Jezebel nodded to Kallan and put her good arm in her mouth and bit down, holding out her broken arm to be fixed. She closed her eyes as she waited for the pain to come. She knew she would need both arms if she wanted to get out of here alive. When the water bender adjusted her arm and set it back she let out a small squeak of a scream. It was clear that the scream would have been really loud and full of pain if she was not in a serious situation.

((Ok, time for everyone to get out of the palace. It would probably be a good idea to get all of your characters outside of the city walls and run into us, everyone!))
With a sharp jerk, Kallan set the bones back in their proper place. Then she used the water to lessen the pain and relieve the bruising forming around the break. It wasn't a good substitute for three weeks of healing in a splint, but under the circumstances, it would have to do. Once they were out of the city and somewhat safely away, they could take some time to bind it properly, but this would have to do for now. She ripped a large swathe of silken fabric from one of her sleeves and asked, "Can I use one of your fans, Jezabel?" The younger woman nodded, looking pale as she bit down on her sleeve. Kallan snatched one and closed it, then used it as a splint for the arm.
Once it was bound to her satisfaction, she turned to the burns on Jezabel's back. She winced in sympathy as she looked at them. Taking a deep breath, she placed her hands on the burns and made the water spread out to cover it. As she concentrated, the water began to glow white and hum faintly. Kallan felt energy leave her and gritted her teeth. Finally, when she could stand it no longer, she dropped her concentration, panting. The water splashed to the floor and started spreading outwards. The burns were still red, but the blisters were gone and new skin could be seen.
"It's going to itch, Jezabel, but don't scratch. Also, no more fighting. You'll just ruin what little I was able to do." With an effort, Kallan extended her will over the fallen water and guided it back into the water pouch. Iroh took a step back the way they had come and gestured.
"We must hurry. If we take the secret passages, we can stay out of sight for that much longer."
Soon, they were back in the passages, following Iroh as he led them through. Kallan could hear the sharp hisses of pain from both Zuko and Jezabel whenever they accidentally brushed one of their injuries against the walls of the narrow passageways. The journey seemed to take forever, but in reality, it must have been less than an hour. Finally, Iroh opened a small door and gestured. There was cool air blowing in, but very little light. As Kallan stepped out, she saw that they were outside of the city's walls, and that it was early evening. Turning back to the door, she saw that it was very cleverly concealed by a light stone facade so as to match the wall it was set in. Apparently, the builders of the palace had made sure that the royal family and other nobles would have a way out of the city in case of invasion.
Iroh was pressed against the wall, waiting as Zuko and Jezabel came out. As soon as they were clear, he began heading to the west. Kallan was able to place roughly where they were as she recovered her bearings and seemed to recall a place where mounts were kept for the military contingents that were often in the capitol. There wasn't enough room to keep them inside the city walls, and some of the animals were far too noisy and smelly anyways for the comfort of the citizens.
She found herself to be right, as they came into sight of the corrals that held the komodo rhinos. The corrals were made of strong metal pipes that were six feet tall. They had to be very strong, because if a stampede happened, the komodo rhinos would flatten anything weaker. Since it was night, they were mostly asleep, snuffling quietly as they dreamed whatever it was they dreamed.
Iroh stopped and said in a low whisper, "We must get some mounts. There are mongoose lizards a little farther on. We'll take those. They are the fastest and the quietest." Kallan nodded in agreement.

With all the chaos occuring in the guard ranks it wasn't hard to make it to the higher floors of the palace. Whether it was the general or Azula herself he knew that it was his duty to cause one hell of a mess here. Rushing to the doors to the throne room he exhaled not knowing what was waiting on the other side. Taking a moment to compose himself he threw his arms forward blowing the hinges from the stone wall and launching the doors away from him. He wasn't going to back down from whatever challenge was waiting for him even if it took his life, his feelings of loyalty to the earth kingdom hadn't changed in all these years and now he had to prove it. Holding a simple stance he looked out into the throne room as the dust cleared waiting to face whoever he had jumped in on.

Jezabel Star Earth Nations Fire Bender Her teeth lightly cut in to her arm as Kallan set it but only a small groan of pain escaped her lips. Handing over one of her fan's after a half of a second of hesitation she kept her jaw clenched shut as Kallan bound her arm using the fan as a splint. One fan and one arm, some how thing still felt like they could work out. Her eyes scanned around panicked. Bumi, where was King bumi, before she got to ask the question she hissed lightly as her back started to sting as the water was placed over it. She bit down harder until Kallan was done. Her back felt better, it did not feel like it was still on fire but it still felt extremely painful. "Thank you." She said as she started to move, only stumbling a small amount as she stood up. Kallan told her not to fight and she nearly fell over, she was a fighter, but she understood. She followed after, making sure Zuko went before her. She followed trying hard not to bump n to t he walls or others and eveery time she did a hiss would slip through her lips.
