"Just be more careful next time," Joker admonished, in a tone that showed far more concern than he normally used, while returning the tight hug with onr of his own. "Granted, I know that there IS, in fact, more than one Rosie out there, but I'd really hate to have to actually FIND one to replace you with. I'm quite fond of the one I've already got."

Rosie beamed, smiling widely back at him. She really didn't have anyone other than Joker right now. And bloody psychopath or not...he made her feel wanted. More than she could say for her actual mother right now. She still had no idea the truth behind any of it. Right now, Joker was the closest thing to a parent she had. And at the moment, she didn't mind one bit.
"I'll be more careful next time. I promise." she replied.

Rosie paused a moment, then shrugged. "I don't know. He left when you went into the room. I asked for him to bring back the lollypops with the bubblegum inside." she replied.

"Hm... I'll have to have words wih him..." In fact, the Joker had already planned on having words with him AND Tinkerer upon Death raider's return, but now he wanted one with him personally. By himself.

"For taking too long?" Rosie asked. She was hoping it was because of that and not because he was the one watching her when she fell. It wasn't his fault, and she didn't really want him getting hurt because of it. He was....kind of fun to pick on when he was babysitting her. Tinkerer was fun to annoy too, but...he was working more than he was just sitting there. And she couldn't bother him when he was working. Then he might mess up. And then he might be dead.
It was about that time that Tinkerer stopped pecking around on the keyboard and turned to glance at the security screens on the wall beside him. In one screen, the Crime Doctor slipped out the back door and climbed into a black car parked along the side of the road.
In another screen, hurrying up to the back door in the cover of the dark alley, was a man in a trench coat and hat. Tinkerer recognized him as Death Raider, and buzzed him in. "Looks like he's back, sir. Has a small bag full of stuff." he said, looking over at Joker.

Joker smiled. "Yes, for taking too long." Upon hearing Tinkerer announce Death Raider's return, he replied, "Thank you, Tink," then turned his attention back to Rosie. "Let's go get some lollipops!"

Tinkerer nodded and turned his attention silently back to his computer. Rosie, on the other hand, beamed again and gave him another little hug.

"Glad you approve of the idea," the Joker said, and put her back on his shoulders. This was how he intended to be when Death Raider walked into the room.

Rosie grinned and rested her chin on the top of his head again.
Not long after, Death Raider walked in through the entrance door with a large bag hung to his side. "Sorry that took so long." he said as he closed the door behind him. "You'd think the stores would be stocked again after Halloween."

"Truly..." the Joker said, in a semi-mocking tone. If anyone could possibly take Death Raider seriously, they deserved to be killed. Messily. Maybe by Killer Croc. Or Bane. Shoot, even Solomon Grundy. "Diaper Raider, would you mind coming with me to the other room? Leave the candy here. Tinkerer, you too, please. Team meeting." The Joker put Rosie down again. "Adult talk time, dear," he said to her. "Now, don't eat too many lollipops. You don't want to make yourself sick and ruin your sleep tonight. If you do, you'll end up sleeping all morning, and missing your cartoons."

Rosie smiled and nodded her head. "Alright, I won't if you promise to tell me another story before bed time." she replied.
Death Raider sat the bag of candy down on the table and turned to wait for the Joker to lead them out. If he was in any kind of trouble, he was blissfully oblivious to it.
Tinkerer....on the other hand....had turned his head away from the screen to look over his shoulder at his boss. Looking for all the world like a skittish cat. He turned his attention back to the computer briefly, clicked a few buttons, then slowly stood from his chair and started towards the group of adults.
He kept going over and over in his mind that nothing would happen to him. He was still useful, he was still needed, he wasn't the one that was watching over the kid when she fell. Still....that didn't help his hands from shaking as he stuffed them into his pockets.

"I promise," the Joker said happily, honestly looking forward to it. He had absolutely no idea why he had taken such a liking to Rosie. He kept trying to tell himself that she was simply a means to an end, a way to get back at Gossamer. The perfect way, in truth. But the more he said it to himself, the less he believed it. How could he believe any one of a thousand ways of his becoming the Joker at any given time, but not believe one bit that this little girl was completely expendable? His expression gave absolutely no sign of this conflict, though, as he walked to another, more conventional room. The only difference to it any any other room living room in the world, was that it was heavily sound-proofed, just in case he needed to off someone without Rosie being needlessly exposed to it.

Death Raider followed behind Joker as they walked to the room, still unphased and unaware of what could happen in a matter of minutes. Tinkerer held the back of the line, following at a nervous pace. The further they walked, the more realization struck him. He knew the room they were in now, and he knew how well it was rigged to keep sound in.

Once the two of them were inside, the Clown Prince of Crime closed the door behind them and started pacing. In a surprisingly sing-song tone, Joker said, "Gentlemen, we have a situation. There's a small problem with our little regime. Do you know what it is, gentlemen?"
