Finishing up with his uniform, he opened the door and walked down the hall, seeing the door wide open and Kay walking towards the medabot. He frowned at her outfit and turned back to go into the room she had chosen and look for her body armor that he had given, and the shotgun as well. It wasn't hard to find the armor as it was casually laid on the bed, but the gun he had troubles looking for. It had to be in there somewhere.

He got down on his knees and saw a glimmer come from the bed. He reached under and soon felt the weapon. Carefully he slid it out and walked back to his room, pulling out the ammunition box he had put in his bag and loading the gun with a few bean bag rounds. "There...all set" he mumbled to himself, turning and making his way down the hall

Absolutely dumbstruck that she was offering the tempting fruit, he shook his head. "I can't accept this...I..I...I..." he was at a loss for words, but feeling it rude to just run away, he stayed put.

Looking down at the fruit, she raised a brow before giving a concerned look to the medabot. "I'm sorry...did I grab the wrong kinds?" Folding her ears back she felt a fretful twitch in her tail...maybe she should have asked if he liked specifics from Banes!

She did however still want to feel useful on her trip here, and looking back to the cabin and seeing no signs of Banes she looked back with a weary smile. "I really don't want to mess up the simple tasks....how about you take these and if you don't like them give it to a deer or something? Tell me what you would like and i'll go get it!" Setting the plate down on the grass she let her tail wag, not really getting the point that he felt he couldn't take any fruit. "It's really no problem at all!"

After prepping the shot gun, he set it down on the counter and whisked around in the office to get supplies for holding any evidence they might find. As tedious as it was, Banes couldn't help but hear his instructor's words from back in the Academy. "Fail to prepare....prepare to fail" he said out loud, feeling some comfort in saying it so he didn't have to hear it over and over.

Finally after several minutes of prepping, he walked into the living room, surprised to see Kay still outside talking to the robot. "What is taking so long?" he wondered through a mutter. He decided to grab every thing and lug it outside. He also made sure to grab her shot gun and armor as well before closing the door behind him, leaving it unlock in case the robot sought refuge again. "Ready..to go?" he said in a confused and questioning manner.

He shook his head again, a look of worry taking shape in his luminous red eyes. "I-it's not that...but..I just can't accept this token of gratitude. It's...Well..I don't deserve it!" he remarked, backing away just a little bit as the plate was put down.

Biting the inside of her lip in thought, she wasn't sure she had anyone really deny gratitude before. Unsure of what really to say, she put on a smile and stood from the plate, an ear flicking to hear the door open behind her. "We weren't deserving of your kind gesture to bring the bags in either....but that isn't here or now. If you can't take it as gratitude, take it so you won't make me feel bad the rest of the day about it okay? You can ask Banes that i'm a worry wart!"

Turning her head to see he'd come out, she nodded and looked back to the medabot. "I gotta run, have a good day!" She called and made her way back to him and noticed the rifle and armor. "Oh! I forgot about that....good thing you have a head on your shoulders. Mine must be back at the pass." She chuckled and picked them up from the pile of things to sling them on and try to figure out how to make sure it was secure and in place; whispering quietly. "I don't think he wants it..."

A bit startled and confused at suddenly being referenced into the conversation, he chuckled nervously. "Uh...yes..yes she is." he said taking a paw and rubbing the back of his head. It wasn't until she had ran over and took the items from his feet that he felt a bit more in the loop. "Ah-ha....I don't have a head on my shoulders...just an irritatingly nagging voice on my head" he shrugged surprised that she leaned in to whisper something to him. But knowing very little about the robot, he shrugged. " Well maybe if we leave he'll change his mind?" He whispered back, pretty sure it was a fruitless thing to do since it was obvious by the white fox's eyes that he could in fact hear them.

"Well..To the beach then?" He said as he started walking away, waving to the robot as he made his way to the coastline. "If you feel like sleeping in there again, help yourself." he called back to the fox while looking back for Kay

"Oh....my apologies...I was not aware it would make you feel bad" he said maintaining that glance of worry. How stupid of him to be so rude and not accept something. When the female turned, he looked at one of the apples, and feeling bad about it still, he took one and took a bite...seemingly without moving his mouth at all

"Still means its attached then doesn't it?" She smirked, looking back for a moment to catch the white foxes look of concern before taking the fruit after all. Smiling happily she nodded her head and slung the rifle around her shoulders....elated her little 'plan' worked. At least he did, it was all she could hope for even if he could leave the rest after they left. "It doesn't....necessarily make me feel too bad, but I feel so much more better now...so Thanks!" The vixen chimed and with a wave of her own paw she ran to catch up with Banes.

Falling into stride she looked up to him with a bright smile, turning her head to look down the trail and held out a arm. "To the beach!" Kay declared in a joyous laughter, despite the reason they were going there in the first place she felt pretty determined to help the best she could and keep her eyes peeled for anything.

He smiled and chuckled lightly. "Save the determination till we arrive. There's a whole stretch of beach we have to cross before we get to the tape...hopefully it will be safe" he nodded a bit more concerned than anything else.

Once they had reached the beach head, he looked around for any sign of something suspicious. He failed to notice the slight glow of the water about 50 feet out, but he wasn't looking to the water for an attacker. "Looks clear. Let's go" he nodded as he took off in a brisk jog to the rocks and tide pools. It was a good place to use as cover, so long as footing was careful.

He ducked behind the rocks, and looked up over them to see if there was anything that could hurt them. To his relief, there was nothing more than the crime scene tape fluttering in the breeze. "Alright. Coast is clear. Careful on the rocks" he said, slipping on one almost on cue, mumbling a bit and smiling nervously. He lent her a paw once he was at the top

"I got enough determination for the whole trip!" The vixen couldn't help her chuckle, and when they did make it to the beach she was that much more excited. She could see the tape in the distance, and tried to prepare herself for the worst, at least hoping the body wouldn't still be there.

Looking up to the mountain ridges they'd come through prior, she smiled admiringly before she heard Banes give the cue to jog. "Oh hey! I didn't sign up for jogging!" A playful smirk crossed her lips as she reluctantly jogged behind to catch up, holding onto the rifle as it was a little awkward to run otherwise with it. Nearing the rocks where he hid only when he'd already made sure the coast was clear she; took in a few deep breaths and smiled. "That's just jinxing me now..." Careful wasn't even in her fate's vocabulary, especially when it Clumsy is highlighted. Letting out a small gasp, before a little chuckle when she was convinced he was alright she took his paw with a light hearted scold. "See, you even jinxed yourself." Hard to believe two clumsy foxes like us should even be out here! She thought and with his paw helped herself up.

Once on top she looked around, all the tape making the scene ahead a grim one. She could see that the most obvious place to look would be around where the body was....but as she looked over the rocks she noticed the tide pools and looked towards the rock ledge to the sea. Maybe something could have washed back to the tide? She thought and ventured over carefully, looking around with a hard eye on the ground for clues. Crawling up onto one of the overlooking rocks, she glanced over the scene before finding her gaze drifting to the sea and its beauty. The rolling waves, the warm salty air, the way the sun made the water glow blue...

...wait a minute. Paws firmly on the rock, she squinted her eyes before looking out, was that some kind of trick of light? "Hey Brad...." She called, not moving her eyes from the spot some distance out in the water. "I'm not too sure on this land yet...but does the sea ever have a blue tint to it? I mean...pretty blue too, like those white beach kinda waters..."

He could not believe how determined she was. And how exhilarated as well. He was trying to be serious, and she was cracking jokes. I guess I asked for it by bringing her along he mused to himself as he finally pulled her up on the rocks, turning to overlook the tapped in area, which to the naked eye, had no reason to be taped off. He reached for a bag he was carrying and took out a few tools, such as a camera and a ruler. He walked over to where there was a faint sand bag outline of where a victim had been previously lying. He was amazed the lines were still intact. "Hmm...it looks like he was washed up on shore." he muttered to himself, taking a picture of the out line and another to note how close it was to the water's edge. Then she had said something.

He turned and looked, wondering what she wanted now. "What is it?" he replied as she continued talking. He squinted his eyes, and looked to sea to see a large spot that was in fact glowing. "No..that's not normal." he said snapping a picture of that as well. He then let the camera fall, with it's straps firmly around his neck and crossed his arms while putting weight on one foot. "That's odd" he said. Out of the corner of his eye he say something white dart across the sand. His head turned to it and he gasped, seeing it was that medabot again...waving his arms. "What's up with him?"

"Okay...because I wondering if I was going crazy." She called back, tilting her head as she put down her sunglasses onto the bridge of her nose so she could see it better. The glow took up some area of water...so whatever it was it had to be big. Come to think of it, it did look like the glow in the caves...maybe the spring in there had a run off to the ocean and that where it came out to?

However her attention was diverted as she caught Banes saying something and turned back to look at him, then across where he was looking to the sand. It was that medabot! Waving her arms as if to signal him over she smiled and looked back to her companion. "He can sure go!" She commented, before taking another look at him as he got closer....noticing something she didn't quite like. "Actually....he looks pretty panicked....do you think he found something?"

It didn't take him long to catch up. He was soon right in front of the pair, not in the slightest bit out of breath. "You've got to get out of here! It will attack you too!!" He warned trying to push them both away. It wasn't until he felt teeth wrap around his leg and he was dragged away. He tried his best to cling to the rocks, but he was too small.

The beast lurched out can bit down on the robot's leg, knowing they wouldn't pierce, but it knew that he couldn't swim. "I'm tired of your meddling! Time I took care of you!" a harsh metallic growling voice came from the ever familiar sea monster, soon taking the medabot underwater and the glow retreating further out to sea.

"Yeah he is..I wonder what he wants." he said tilting his head, starting to feel a twang of concern. It wasn't until the robot told them to leave and started pushing him and Kay off the rocks that triggered a red flag. "What's wrong?" he asked, but he was shocked to find his answer come so soon as the glow seemingly appeared on shore, revealing a monstrous dragon that took hold of the robot's leg and started to drag him under. Banes tried to grab hold of the white foxes hand, but it slipped and soon the robot was gone from his sight, with the evil voice circling in the back of his mind. He fell back and panted, completely dumbstruck by what had happened. "We...have...to...go" he managed to say through hyperventilating breaths.

".....It?" Kay echoed as she watched the medabot quickly reach them, nearly pushing her flat onto her back from the rock she'd been on. "Hey now! What's going - " She didn't have time to even finish her sentence when the large beast emerged from the water and wrapped its jaws around the medabots leg, dragging him to the edge with that sinister voice as Banes had tried to grab him to no avail.

"No!" The vixen shouted as her mind finally caught back up with her from the fright, there was no explaining how terrified she was with the creature; but instinct kicked in. She managed to hear Banes despite the steady beating of her heart in her ears. Turning she ran along the small rock stretch till she reached the edge, not thinking twice as she jumped down in a single leap; hitting the sand hard but managing not to face plant by using her arms to help balance the fall. Running to the waters edge as she ran in a few feet till the waves lapped at her knees. "Bring him back!" She yelled out to the water, feeling helpless as she couldn't even see the blue glow anywhere on the horizon. "Dammit!" She cursed, feeling her chest tighten uncomfortably....looking back up to the rocks where she assumed Banes would still be. "We have to help him! What if he can't swim..." Biting her lip, she didn't notice her tail was trembling behind her; that fleeting strength leaving her with nothing but her own fears.

Seeing her frantically take off, he got up and jumped after her "KAY wait!" he called out stumbling after her, slidding down the rocks as opposed to just jumping off. He trailed after her and quickly grabbed her trying to pull her out of the water. "Kay that thing has GOT to be what is killing these foxes!!" he said tugging at her trying to get her to move.

Once she turned, he grabbed onto her wrists. Not threatingly, but enough to shake her to her senses. "And what? Swim out there and be killed? We may be able to swim, but we can't hold our breath. He doesn't need to breath!" he said as he tried to snap her to her senses. He wasn't entirely sure if the medabot needed to breath or not, but surely he could get back to shore with out much difficulty.

"If one of us goes out there, then that thing will have us faster than a shark. I'm sure of it. And if we die trying to save him, then what good are we?" he said opening his arms and trying to give that hug of comfort. Needless to say. He would swim out there..if he knew he wouldn't meet the same fate
PostPosted: Tue Jul 20, 2010 1:34 am

Feeling that tug on her arms she turned to look in a bit of surprise he'd gotten down so quickly, but numbly let herself be pulled back to the somewhat safety of the dry sand. "But..." She began, but felt her ears fall against her hair; she knew he was right, but then why was she feeling it was so wrong too? Turning fully she jumped slightly as he grabbed her wrists, but listened intently....soon nodding her head slowly with a downcast look.

Knowing fully well that she was poor when it came to speed during her swimming; she would have been easy prey indeed. Immediately she thought of the pressure and what if the creature had drug him down that far that he wouldn't be able to walk back. "No...good..." She finally replied after a few numb moments of realization, glancing over her shoulder at the quiet seas in the distance. Hasty decisions made on emotions were a death warrant on such a basis as this, she had to rely on his experience and logic....this was his world, not hers. Looking back she could see those open arms and without another moment all but jumped into them as she wrapped her arms tightly around him and rested her face into his shoulder shaking.

He had to be okay, he just had to. She didn't even know his name... "I'm sorry..." She breathed out in a muffle from his shirt, trying to regain her strength from the comfort.

"It's ok" he said wraping those large arms around he back and shoulders, not able to tear his gaze away from the sea. He was hoping at any moment he would see the white robot part the waves and swim safely to shore with no injuries. He never did see such a thing, but he did see the glow suddenly come back into view. "s**t." he said as he picked Kay up with ease and turned tail, running as fast he could to shore, putting her down.

"Back to the Cabin!" he pointed as he pushed her gently ahead, looking back to see if the thing was getting closer, to his dismay it was and fast. He wasted no time making a mad dash for the forest either, dragging Kay along if he had to to make it to the tree line faster, soon hearing the thuds of large feet falling on the earth
