Anise was considering taking her mount for a practice ride when she heard a growl of thunder not too far off. She glanced out one of the stable windows and saw that the clouds in that direction were starting to look rather dark.
"Looks like it won't be a good time for a ride after all," she said as it abruptly began to downpour. Ponyta shook her head empathetically, eyeing the rain distastefully.
Anise looked out the stable door and found that it was only a short run to the main building, which ranch hands seemed to be directing people to. "Come on Felix, lets head inside. Felix looked past her at the rain, looking just as unhappy with it as Ponyta had. Anise had to laugh at the look. "OK, OK, I can recall you to your pokeball until I get there. Would that be better?" Indeed it was, for Felix perked up and trotted over to her. Anise waved at Ponyta and said, "I'll be back later; whenever we head out at the latest." Then she recalled Felix and dashed across the yard to the main building.
Even after running such a short distance, she was pretty drenched. But she figured she'd dry off fast enough in the warm room, and left the towels for people who were more in need of them. She left Felix back out, who promptly walked over to the fireplace and curled up in front of it, then looked aroudn to see who else was there.

@ Nana Penelope finished drying off her Linoone, who's fur had now puffed up to unimaginable proportions. He was a grumpy looking ball of fluff now. Now for her hair. Penelope leaned over and started toweling off her hair.
Stitch climbed off of her lap and started exploring. He walked over to the red head with the pikachu and started investigating her first.

Alexa nodded. She cringed a little when the thunder cracked around them. Apolla came running to her and the umbrella as the rain fell down. "I didn't see where he went. Sorry." She replied and nodded, "I'll see you later!" She grabbed Apolla's pokeball and recalled her back into it. That would keep her happy and dry. Vincent on the other hand was staying a little dry, heating his fur like Cooper did, but the packs were getting soak. "Come on! We'll go see if we can get out of the rain at the meeting point." She said running towards the ranch with Vincent on her heels. The umbrella was helping somewhat but she was still getting wet from running.
They soon reached the ranch and Alexa had to recall Vincent to his pokeball. She didn't know if she could put him in the stables. Walking into Bill's home she closed her umbrella and picked up a towel. "What a downpour!"

"I did," came the reply, the healer straightening from where he had been bent over, hand extended to reach the paralyze heal from the bottom shelf. While the berries sold in the mart were less expensive, Liam found they tended to perish easier. They'd be good for the trip, but not so much in a dire emergency, his stash already depleted. On the way up, he didn't bother to move his shoulder, bumping into Ridley's teasingly. His second comment, however, stripped the teasing smirk from his face, his eyes snapping to the window, cursing under his breath.
"And here I thought we might actually have a chance to get dry and warm," he muttered, heading towards the check-out counter, "Where are we suppose to be, anyway? I have to pick up my backpack quickly before we go." Checking out quickly, the healer paused by the door, staring out into the pouring rain, nose wrinkling.
"Shoulda bought an umbrella."

@SaoMeeka peered over. A Linoone . . . fluffy like a Swablu . . . SO CUTE! The breeder immediatly dived into her bag, searching for her cheap, plastic camera. She was planning on taking many pictures of the event and possibly sell them to a newspaper company or something to get an extra bit of money. However, some shots could have been wasted on memorable moments and this was one of them.
Terri sniffed over towards the Linoone, her cheeks cackling more. Oh goshness. She really did hate rainy weather! "Chauuuuu." she said somberly, hoping for the Linoone to not take her cackling as a defensive move.

The arcanine's giant scared puppy tactics were working so well by the time Ezekiel came and grabbed his collar that this action had in fact dislodged Lamen's arm from the Arcanine's fluffy neck area. "Hey! I was rubbing him there. ...Why are you grabbing him by the collar? You're not his owner." Could it be that Adriel's pokemon was stolen?! ...Naaaaah. Must be another one of his friends, or something. But the pokemon was obviously uncomfortable outside, and getting wet was't in the gray-haired trainer's agenda. "...Go inside first. I'll find you." She ruffled the fur on Cooper's head before dashing off to fetch Mattress.

Ridley grunted as Liam bumped against him, grinning at him and rubbing his shoulder, then blinked as Liam looked out the window, following his gaze. He frowned as well, seeing the downpour, and he groaned, echoing Liam's discontent. He turned to follow him as he headed for the checkout counter, hefting the handle with him, paying for his after waiting for Liam. He held the paper bag and stood just behind him, looking up at the sky.
"Ahh, it's this little ranch on the outskirts of the city... we can go grab that bag from your apartment and go when it settles down. They're definitely not leaving until this is over," Ridley looked down at Liam, quirking and eyebrow at him, and pulled the cap off of his head to stick it on Liam's soaked one.
"Hey, it's not like you can get any wetter," he grinned at him.

Crazy weather phailz! The downpour continued for about another few moments when it suddenly calmed back down to a fine drizzle. The now-distant rumble of thunder echoed in the background as the lightning, too, faded to only memory.
On the large TV in Bill's living room, the weatherman was having the time of his life at the moment:
"Looks like that wacky thundercloud that rolled into the city has finally moved on, folks. Fortunately for those planning to be on the road or heading out to train, this drizzle will be the only thing falling from the sky for the rest of the day, so the ground should dry up a bit enough so you don't go knee-deep in mud." He laughed at his own bad joke. "We shall keep you up-to-date as the evening hours come in, so stay tuned!
Now back to Thomas in the studio!"
"Thanks Bob! In other news today, the Kanto Safari Zone Association today has declared...."
Well, looks like someone up there decided to smile on the group. Weather is going back to normal, YAY!

@Nana/People at Bill's who want to join in. The Linoone sniffed towards the Pikachu too. Thunderstorms made all sorts of pokemon miserable, and it looked like the pikachu was no different. Stitch nodded, empathizing with the electric rodent. "Nooon..."
Penelope sat up and removed the towel from her head. That was about as dry as her hair was gonna get. Her hair was still damp and clung in large strands, like dangling purple octillery legs. At least the dripping stopped. She looked around. People were starting to file into the house. And her pokemon was... where was he? Oh! With some redheaded girl. Penelope stood and walked over. "Hey there!"

To any trainer in the stables;
The ranger and her pokemon, in an attempt to get out of the rain for a little while, made their way over to the stables instead of the house. A bunch of trainers were probably already inside Bill's home, so the rancher, Miri figured, didn't need one more person cramming in. The warm confides of the stables would suffice, and there would also probably be pokemon to look at or people to talk to. Adjusting a backpack she carried on her shoulders while motioning for her ice/flying type pokemon to follow, she made her way to the barn.
It was a relief to be inside where it was warm. A content sigh escaped her, followed by Miriam pushing the hood of her raincoat down. She wouldn't need to wear it up in here. "We can stay here for a while," she exclaimed, glancing back to her Delibird. Poor Fubuki. On the way into the barn he had tripped over his own two feet, and was scrambling to get up when his trainer addressed him. Now off the ground, he dusted himself off like nothing ever happened, and gazed into the barn with wide, purple eyes.
"Deliiiii! Delibird, deli!" ["Wooooow! There are so many pokemon in here."]
It was true; there were a lot of pokemon, and trainers, too. That was good, Miri noted. All the more people to chat with before starting up on the long journey they had ahead of themselves.

Meeka jumped up and dropped her plastic camera, causing it to clatter to the floor and have its lens crack. So much for getting a picture of something adorable . . . and have extra money for the month. Ugh. Copying and pasting a smile on her face, Meeka tried not to show her sudden regret.
"Heeya!" she said with a small nick of her straw-twined hat. "How's in going? You're on the giant Eevee trip too?"
The Pikachu's cackles suddenly died down. The terrible weather seemed to have passed. Wowzers. That was quite quick. Smiling at the Linoone, she put out a paw in greeting. "" she said in a mute tone. ""

The healer waited until Ridley was finished, glancing over his shoulder as he spoke, a slightly soured expression on his face as he stared out into the rain. "Wanna bet?" he answered, grunting a little as the hat was shoved down onto his head, tipping the brim up so he could see. Liam answered with a small smile and a quirk of his eyebrow, hooking one finger into the other's beltloop before pulling them out into the rain. "Hope you weren't thinking that's going to earn you any brownie points," he teased, letting go after they had walked a few good paces, thoroughly drenched within seconds.
And then, just like that, it was back to a drizzle.
"Oh of course, after we start out in it," Liam muttered, making a face up at the sky. Lifting his hands palms-up, he let them sink back down with a shake of his head, the bags of supplies weighing them down, "Is it even worth it to change? If we have to head out to the ranch in this anyway..."

"But I am related to the owner!" He yelled back and took the other into the stable, pushing him in, just as the stormed moved on. "Oh come on!" He glared up at the sky with purple-specked brown eyes. "The weather is freaking nuts..."
Cooper peeked out of the stable once the rain went back to a drizzle, he sent several heat waves, making his fur fluff up and warm again as he trotted out of the stable now that it was just a little light rain. Ezekiel walked after him, pressing his head against Cooper's side until his clothes and hair were slightly drier. "Nature hates me..."

Seeing the weather report after drying herself off, Alexa let Apolla out of the pokeball. She rummaged through her backpack to get one of the spare towels she keeps in it to dry her vulpix off. Apolla gladly allowed Alexa to dry her and as soon as the towel was removed she began fixing her fur. Alexa would have to see about drying Vincent off in the stables.

Ridley followed Liam out into the rain, rolling his eyes and then wincing against the downpour, heading after him, getting ready for a very long, very wet trip. He was shocked when it morphed back into the drizzle, looking up at the sky.
"Don't complain, this is great," he grinned, nudging Liam. "Yeah, we should just go. I'll go with you and help you get packed up, then we can ride back to my place so I can get Soulcrusher," Ridley reasoned, shaking drops of water from his hair and shifting the handle to his other hand.
