Nodding decisively, she tilted her head towards the food tables and shooed Zinzel and his black off the sands as she turned to the next egg. The Grapejuice Dip egg… again, a potential dragon. And again, a guessing game. It hadn’t really stood out from other eggs while they were hardening so she wasn’t entirely certain about this one.
Still, every egg must be checked and so it was but a moment later, the thwack of the silver shovel against the dark shell cracked the egg enough on the first round for a very determined, very bold… Eirlyn blinked and grinned up at her dragon. A Crimson! Lucky Feynath indeed!
Before she’d even looked back to the egg, the little crimson was willfully trundling through the sands, all ungainly legs and flailing wings and tail as she tried to keep her balance. However, she stopped at the midpoint of the Candidate line, turning one way then the other. Something had caught her attention… or rather, more than one somethings. Which way would this little firecracker turn?

Another dragon inside the egg, another chance to Impress, he wanst sure what the oddly coloured dragons searched for, either way he willed the Crimson to turn his way, to be His, to have that lifelong bond with whom you WERE good enough.

The next egg beaten open and bless the Egg, it was another live dragon! And as the goo dried off and the beast came forward, Ther smiled broadly -- a lovely crimson! That was very lucky indeed, for only the Crimson Atypes could clutch...it was rare to do so, but he felt a tremor of excitement knowing that there were now two more dragons that could clutch and help bring back the dragon population.
Of course, on the other hand...he was somewhat afraid that this creature would pick him. A clutching female dragon was so far from anything he'd imagined himself with...but then that left only one...and that one may or may not house another atype...or live dragon at all.

A crimson! Kleos pulse quickened, and she licked her dry lips, her green eyes fixed immovably on the hatchling. As yet she wasn't committing to males or to females. There was a chance, in fact her chance was as good as anyone else's. This could be the moment she became a rider, or just another disappointment. Honestly, she just wanted to know one way or the other as soon as possible; the suspense was unbearable.

Wykla's eyes widen as with one swing another dragon is released. It looked like a very determined crimson! Wykla watches her as she seems to head towards the candidates with purpose. Then it seemed she was torn between two. She would be able to choose right? Pick a good one little girl. She'd never heard of a dragon going between from too many choices. It was merely a matter of picking the best one. Maybe that was easier said then done?

Now that the black had Impressed, the worst of it was over right? Were the other two going to hatching into Dragonets as well? Tie couldn't believe that much in luck, but Filanth seemed fairly certain - and then it happened! A Crimson, out on the sands!
"Wow."
She broke the code of silence in her excitement, but that couldn't be helped!

That *was* quick, just as the Weyrwoman said. Barely an eyeblink and the Black impressed. Lucky boy. Now she'd moved on to the next egg, which revealed a Crimson. Time to see who she'd choose!

She started first towards the boys, moved a few steps then craned her head to look back over at the girls. She was obviously drawn in opposite directions… the decision hard enough for her to hazard using up her initial reserve of energy. Hers was here… but which was Hers? She crooned at the boys, then turned and crooned to the girls, having difficulties.
Eirlyn frowned. This was common among the Atypicals… they tended to wear themselves out too fast and perished despite Hatching or they could not find Theirs. More than once, they’d lost an Atypical dragon to Between like this. But… she couldn’t order the Candidates to move either, the Dragon had to choose the Rider, nothing else would forge the essential connection.

Oh, another clutch-farm.
The words were sharp in Rhilira's mind, and she glanced down at Galianth, who was watching the newly-hatched crimson with orange-swirling eyes. Clutch farm? It was clear that already her green did not like this hatchling, though she was unclear as to why.
Yes. That's all they're good for: laying eggs. And that's all they're used for... and meant to be used for. Same as golds.
Ah, so that was also why she cared so little about the Queen, too. Golds are leaders at least.
Only because they're told to be. But who wants to be a leader? Time can be spent doing much better things.
Oh, they certainly got along well... That was one thing Rhilira had never really understood upon coming to the Weyr: why the hierarchy existed. She figured there was some sense to it that she hadn't learned about yet, but still... The color hierarchy seemed unnecessary, and Galianth had already proved that to her... True. Very true...

Zeren sent his thoughts towards the Crimson, she'd likely not hear him but maybe the feelings would get through *find Yours, if not me, then someone, hurry little one hurry* he thought at her, wanting so desperately to move forwards and help, but not wanting to hinder either.

Oh no. Shards. Pick anyone but don't go between! Of course she would like it best if the crimson came her way, but in the end she would be overjoyed to see it with somebody else in preference to seeing it die. That couldn't happen, not when everything else had seemed to go so well... Well, other than the fighting blues, but that had been sorted out quickly enough by the young queen. There was no fixing a dragonet that betweened.

Filanth actually raised her head to watch this dragon as she went, mildly curious. Crimsons were...well, special to say the least, and this one seemed to be having a hard time deciding. Tie was biting her lower lip in anticipation, mostly hoping nothing bad happened, and the Green nudged her lifemate with her nose in an attempt to calm her nerves.
She's looking, like the Queen. Do not worry for her, she will find someone. Just watch and you'll see.
The dragon's words sounded just good enough to Tie that she nodded and sighed, going back to watching ever so carefully. What would happen now?

The crimson's hesitation worried Ther; the atypes needed care very quickly or they just couldn't survive...it was obvious that this little girl was torn between where she thought hers was and where she thought hers should be.
He held his breath and waited, silently pleading that she Impress quickly and live.

Sharajan peered across the sands. The black had already paired off; smart one, that. Hopefully the new weyrling could keep it it healthy in its first year. And now a dark red hatchling stalked the sands.
Unlike the first one, it looked...confused, swinging its head back and forth. Not good - didn't the Weyrwoman say that they were easy Impressions, that they knew what they wanted?
He sighed. Silly girl. Should have known she'd be taking her time about it, just like her sister earlier.

Now that his dragon was sleeping - and he had quieted his mind - Kentori felt a bit more relaxed. He had fed His well, and she was sleeping, just like she was supposed to. The blues hadn't hurt each other too severely, and so far no dragons had gone between. He now worried about the crimson, which has thankfully come out of what everyone was hoping was not a dud... She seemed confused! Hers had to be here...
