[Pain. Regret. Horror. Guilt.
Everything flashed before his eyes as his life bled out of him.
He saw not his own life, but the life of the Madness that consumed him.
He saw it biting his brother. Infecting him. Trying to kill him.
He saw it rip a squirrel to shreds.
He saw it hunting a terrified apprentice without mercy, and without care.
He had done those things. Hadn't he?
He didn't feel his soul join StarClan.
What was happening? Where they punishing him?
No.
He wasn't dead yet.
She had ripped into his throat, and yet....]
Looking up at her, and realizing he could still see her, he gurgled, "Thank...you..."
[And then he died.
He was moving somewhere. He knew he was heading for the Dark Forest. That's where murderers went. After all, he had also doomed his brother to the same fate.
Bue instead someone pressed their nose into his pelt.
Opening his eyes, he was shocked.
His mother, Dawnstep, looked at him lovingly. Stars glittered in her pelt.]
"Welcome, my son," she murmured.
[Nightpaw almost choked.]
"Worry not, my child. You have committed no sin. Your sins are only in believing that we would abandon you to such a dark place."
[Nightpaw cried out. He buried himself in his mother's pelt.]

 [Leopardpaw's eyes flickered open. Fathom's presence was near, and she took comfort from it. She heard his words nad she nodded numbly. She coughed.] "Ravenstar... What will she do to me? Will I end up a loner? I murdered my Clanmate!" [Leopardpaw wailed. She struggled to her feet. She sunk back down, not having the strength to stand.] "Jadepaw... Is she okay?" [Leopardpaw croaked. Her mind went into a daze. She heard this eerie voice:]
You have killed one. There are many others. You shall be next...the voice cackled. [Leopardpaw's eyes shot open and leapt up with adrenaline rushing through her veins. She couldn't bear to go to sleep, that voice...] "That voice... No!!"

 [Fathom stared.] "leapordpaw, quickly. Wash your mouth. Don't swallow any of it!" he cried.
[Her mouth was covered in infected blood.
Galespirit, who had been quit, nodded.]
"I heard it, " he said, "and I know now. We have very strong enemies indeed."
[Fathom stared at him, but Leapordpaw cried out. He realized that Galespirit had heard what she thought.
Can he read minds?!
But Fathom couldn't worry about that. Pain ripped through his belly.
He looked down.]
"Oh." he said.
[Blood was flowing madly out of his belly. Nightstreak had somehow sliced him deeply, but Fathom never noticed until now.
Feeling lightheaded, Fathom staggered. He couldn't leave Leapordpaw...]
"It's...okay Leapordpaw, I'll...talk to Raven..."
[But he had lost too much blood. His eyes rolled, and blackness consumed his mind.]

[Leopardpaw trembled as she heard Nightstreak's voice say 'thank you'. She realized she did the right thing, tough she felt so bad about it. She straightened immediately. She could not let the cats from other Clans see her weak. She padded over to Jadepaw, still unconscious with power in her stride. She rythmically began licking between her ears, just as she had with Fathom. Gradually, Jadepaw's eyes flickered open.] "Jadepaw, the danger is over. You are safe." [Leopardpaw hoped the cats would see her strength and not her weakness, as her emotions whirred inside her. She kept a confident expression on, refusing to show any signs of weakness. She finally began grooming herself, but stopped.] "If... If I lick off the blood, will I get the Madness?" [Leopardpaw's eyes grew wide. She decided she had to clean herself in a stream.] "We must get back to the Gathering. We have been missed already, I'm sure."

 "No"Ravenstar yowled.She had just came to see where they had went nd then saw her Deputy lying down.Ravenstar quickly grabbed some cobwebs she pressed them on his stomach again and again she did it.

Troutail had been worried the entir time about everything. "I'm going to take Fathom back to his clan, I think cobwebs help stop bleeding so I'll try to find that. Or should I tell a cat to come here and take care of him?" Troutail wasn't sure if he should do anything about Fathom so he waited for a response.

[Leopardpaw nodded at Fathom's words. Determinedly, she bounded to a puddle and washed her paws as muzzle. She gulped some, but held it in her mouth. She spat it back out, bieng crimson colored. She repeated this three times. Finally she felt as if she cleared her mouth. She glanced herself down. She was spattered in blood and dirt. She bounded back into the clearing to find Fathom collapsed on the ground.] "No!" [Leopardpaw bounded over and dug her claws into the sift dirt. She pressed her nose into his fur, his belly spilling with blood. She recalled what Starpelt used on Thunderpaw's scratches...] "Cobwebs! Now!" [Treepaw dashed off and brought back cobwebs. Leopardpaw quickly pressed the cobwebs to Fathom's belly wound. No, don't die... You're all I have left... No! Leopardpaw thouht desperately. She dared not say it out loud.] "No, no..."

"No,I have some,i'm no medicine cat but I do remember suff from when i fell out of a tree."Ravenstar mewed.She saw Fathom's eyes open just a little.She took the bloody cobwebs off of him and replaced them with fresh ones."I am Ravenstar.Who are you?"She mewed to Trouttail.

He looked at the clan leader "I am Troutail, I'm from Seaclan. I saw this cat" He nodded to Leopardpaw "running from the Gathering and I thought there was trouble so I followed. I came here to find a cat attacking the two and helped." He decided to let someone else explain the rest.

[Leopardpaw stepped back, but kept her nose pressed into Fathom's silky fur. She saw his eyes flicker.] "He's not dead!" [She breathed. She let out a shaky sigh of relief. She glanced back over at Jadepaw. Her gaze flickered to all the cats in the clearing, and over Nightstreak's dead body. She shuddered. She laid down, nose still in Fathom's fur, taking comfort from it. She let her eyelids sink down, and fell into a deep slumber.]

Ravenstar dipped her head at the warrior."That cat is Nightstreak theirs no need to explain,but i can't believe he's dead."Raenstar meowed trying not to show her grief.

"Me neither, I'm so worried about this, could it be another curse just like the flowers but worse? So how long ago did you become leader of, which clan are younthe leader of?" The cat seemed like a great leader so Troutail wondered how long she hAD been leader.
