David stared as his attacks neared Ryota, something didn't seem right. He should have moved by now, done something, anything, to get away from his attack, so why hadn't he? With that, David became worried. If something was wrong with the boy, and he let him get hit, he would probably die, and then it would be his fault. Now, he normally had nothing against killing, it could be an enjoyable pastime under the right circumstances. But this boy had done nothing to truly earn his wrath, everything had been a simple attempt to create a fun fight.

As the attacks reached him, David made his choice. Lashing forward, he sped up the sand below that was intended to hold the boy in place, and used it to yank him towards himself by the legs. As a result, the boy's body would buckle and fall to the ground, safe from the glass and shuriken. As the glass spattered harmlessly on the sand, David ran forward and bent down over the boy. Something was wrong, and he couldn't tell what. He looked the same as ever, but he had frozen, and wasn't reacting to anything.

Standing up, David quickly ran through some handseals and focused his chakra into the simplest bunshin technique he knew, the koujin bunshin. A small cloud of sand and dust arose beside him, and quickly coalesced into the form of a human being, mimicking it's creator. The bunshin quickly ran off looking for help, while David kneeled down beside his young counterpart.

The bunshin ran to the first person it thought of, the kazekage clone, and pointed back towards where it came from. "Need help up there." It said quite simply, not knowing what it really could say to describe what was going on. Things had taken a sudden and unexpected turn, and he wasn't quite sure how to deal with it, other than to get someone who might know how to help the poor kid.

"Bah." David scowled at the place the boy had been. How annoying. If the boy was just going to send out endless clones to fight him, he didn't even care anymore. Standing up and glancing around, he scoffed once more, and began to walk away. What a waste of time. His own clone would return soon with the kazekage, but he couldn't bring himself to care. Let her puzzle out what had happened for herself. Hopping over the edge of the dune, he slid down and away, re-stabilizing himself at the bottom and continuing for a ways, until he was sure nobody was nearby. Sitting down against another dune, he pulled out the taijutsu scroll from the library and began to read it.

"That's not right..." David muttered after the very first listed technique. It was definitely not the one she had shown him. Frowning, he went over the description once more. It was similar, yet not. Perhaps she had only skimmed the guide, and wasn't actually a user of the style? He was glad that he had gotten the scroll though, as he began to study it more closely. He would piece this style together for himself.

Overuse of clones makes for a boring fight by the way. Especially if you never actually made the clones.

(( That's what I figured, but I had waited for a couple days, and wanted to get my character moving again. I was going to just have you automoved to the med center or something, then carry on with my training. Kinda stinks that you managed to get back right after I had posted though... Anyways, it's best that we don't get stuck in a spot like that again, considering the time zone difference. OFA sounds good though. ))

David nodded, having read a ways into the scroll now. This style would definitely be useful. But for it to be of any use at all, he would have to learn it. Standing to his feet, he laid the scroll down on the side of the dune, just high enough so he could glance at it while practicing.

As is generally the first step when practicing a new move, David assumed the proper starting position, sliding his left foot out to the side for balance, he tucked his right arm down to his side, his left arm he left to hang to the side, slightly in front of himself to improve coordination. With the positioning complete, he slowly spun on his right foot, the left sliding around in a wider arc. As he spun, he let his right hand slowly dip and coiled his body low to the ground, actually sliding his left foot out a bit further to allow him to go lower. Finally, as he neared the end of his spin, he drew his arm back up and forward, pulled his left back in to lift his body, and lifted his fist in front of him, attacking an invisible enemy.

With that, he stopped, and went back to his normal stance, simply standing there. It would be a useful move, once he got it down with the full speed necessary. Moving back to his starting position, he began again, only faster. Quickly completing the spin, he began to launch his fist just as before, only to find himself tripping. His foot had caught in the wrong position, and lunging forward had been too much, as he was thrown forward and twisting to the side due to his spin. Luckily he was in sand, or the resulting collapse probably would have been quite painful. As it was, it only hurt his pride, and hardly that since he was alone.

After lying there for a few moments, he stood and positioned himself once more, in the same spot he had started from originally. Crouching into place, he began his spin at the proper speed again, letting his body go through the motions on it's own. His mind had memorized it already, his body just needed to follow. Coming out of the spin he lunged forward again, this time allowing his right leg to slide forward with his thrust. His fist rose, following the attack plan seamlessly.

David smiled, satisfied at his success. He would go over it again later most likely, with a qualified instructor, just to be sure he had it right. But for his purposes, it was good enough for now. Thus, he relaxed, standing at ease once more. Turning to look at his scroll, he sat and began to study the next move.

Elsewhere, David's clone stared impatiently at the kazekage's clone. Why was she not responding? The other boy up on the hill had had a seizure or something! "Come on!" It pleaded. "We need your help up there!" The clone couldn't understand why she wouldn't come and help, so it simply grabbed her sleeve and tried to drag her along. A pretty useless effort considering the rather large difference in size.

(( Erm... You didn't read back very far did you? My clone went to yours, and is trying to get it to follow him back to the dune where Kaito's clone froze up. My clone thinks the kid died or something, and wants you to go do something about it. Of course, it turned out that the frozen kid was a clone, so there's nothing there anymore. Unless Kaito decides to reappear.))
