"YES!!!" Vesper almost screamed at the wizard as he approached. The bottom half of her robe was soaked from the pirate's splash, and three of her herbs had been ruined. "I mean... Yes, please, I could use some help."
The two boys literally had her at her wit's end. Maybe her premonition about the good day had been a delusional trick she played on herself.
Although...it wasn't all that bad. People were coming back! She had suspected she'd never see half of them again. Eirian was ok. Vesper was relieved she was back, although they didn't have much time for a reunion because of the ridiculous childish antics of the Aquarius and the centaur. She surveyed the scene. Most of them were covered in lake water, Biq had gotten a good, well deserved kick, and they were together.
Vesper couldn't help it. Pulling a strange, slimy piece of seaweed from the hem of her robe, she let out a huge laugh.
"Thanks Eirian. Someone needs to keep them in line." she stuck out her tongue playfully at the pirate.
"umm...Riu? Can you keep an eye out for anyone else showing up? Especially the group with the Mirror, or any guards. I'm getting a little worried."

When you have all the ice you could ever want...
Lady luck had smiled upon Kaiya and her companions the night before, and somehow they had made it back to her hotel room without too much trouble. She didn’t know if their acting had been good, if the crowds had been too busy staring and gossiping about the ruined Capitol building, or the guards that had been looking for them were blind with slightly impaired brain functions from all the imbibing of alcohol they tended to do. It was probably a mix of the second two, since Kaiya had no reason to believe she had any talent whatsoever for acting.
The hotel she was staying at had been only too happy to exchange her single bedroom suite to a larger suite with two larger beds. After a hot soak in the bathing facilities to wipe away the grime from her skin, she had settled comfortably into the bed she shared with the Libra, leaving the other bed for their Taurus companion to lay his head. The others may have protested the extra charges, she couldn’t quite remember, but she had wanted them all to be able to sleep on comfortable beds after the Capitol’s collapse around them, especially DKay, since he hadn’t looked too well when they’d all made it out of there. She also had a feeling that if they’d stayed in her original little room, the man would have insisted upon being a gentleman and taking the floor, leaving the tiny bed to her and the sofa to Aly. If anyone had resisted her changes, she had probably run roughshod over them, easily shelling out the extra money for the bigger room and ignoring all signs of dissent. Hopefully her companions weren’t too insulted.
Well, it hardly mattered now. A good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast were the best cure for irritation and worries, and her group had no reason not to have slept well in the plump downy feather beds of the hotel. Nor did they have any reason to fault the breakfast which had been brought up to their room on her request. She had treated herself to fresh fruit, warm slices of fresh wheat bread, eggs and bacon.
Her clothes packed neatly with the mirror safely tucked between two layers, Kaiya had decided to head out by herself. She was well-known among those who played or watched sports as a loner. Suddenly walking around with two new companions would have drawn more attention from those who knew her than she wanted.
After informing her new friends of her decision, she walked briskly to the north side of town. A couple of guards eyed her as she reached the outskirts of the city, but eventually turned away to another individual who seemed more suspicious. She was glad that she had decided to pack her swords and strap them on after she had left the city. On a normal day, she would have worn them damn all consequences, but what the guards didn’t know about her wouldn’t hurt her.
She was relieved to see the specified lake as she left the city; her sense of direction had never been particularly good. In the distance, she spied the group she was to travel with, noting how Garrett and… (what was his name? the Aquarius who had originally shoved the fliers in her face and gotten her involved? Oh yes, Biq.) Garrett and Biq seemed to be on rather unfriendly terms while… hmm… Eirian (that was her name, she was sure of it) was mediating with threats to both men in the form of lightning. Glancing around, she noted that Faye, Brett, Riu, and Vesper were also present though her two companions from the night before had not yet arrived. Well, they’d come when they came.
Heading over to Vesper, she put down her pack and rummaged through it for her swords and the mirror, strapping the swords on before pulling out the face-sized oval glass.
“The first relic,” she announced, displaying the mirror with a self-conscious grin.
...the only thing you need is a grand adventure.

I am the Great Pretender ________willing to dream forever. I'll just float away and let the waves keep pulling me in. ↓ Lids blinked and then the wizard’s mouth followed with a smile. Vesper was such an adorable young lady. “I’d be delighted to help you, my dear,” he said as he raised his hand to give the girl a pet on the head.
Carefully he began to gather a few herbs and flowers.
He couldn’t help but smile as the Scorpio laughed. His attention was quickly drawn back the brunette when she stated his name. Now then, would he keep an eye out for the others? Yes. “I would be happy too.”
Not long after that statement left his mouth did he spot the Gemini woman—Kaiya.
“Ah, and there is one now, Vesper,” Riu nodded in the direction of the one who held the relic, “Nice of you to join us, Kaiya.” Another smile plastered over the pisces face. He was smiling an awful lot this morning. Perhaps it would be a good day today.
[Something short and sweet to respond for Riu. Now to work on the twins' post(s). Those will probably short and sweet too.]↑ I'll just hang out here and watch the world pass over my head. I'm still believing all of the things you said.

Knights in shining armor... _______________________...Don't exist.(( OOC: Please excuse the idiocy of this post. Harx and I just had to get this romance going so Astrid can die. Spoiler alert. ))
He had not been able to sleep that night. No matter how he tossed and turned, his mind was filled with thoughts and images of her.
Had she been roused from her unconsciousness? Was she doing okay? Should he get her something in town to let her know he had been thinking of her?
DKay did his best to push such thoughts away. He tried to remain angry with her. She had thrown juice on him, after all. And all he had been trying to do was help her! But there was something in her reckless, almost mindless personality that fascinated him.
Her carelessness tempered his calculating disposition. Her mocha skin contrasted perfectly with his pallor complexion.
DKay shook his head as he lie awake in bed. This was starting to sound way too much like a cheesy romance novel. A really bad one.
- - -
Not wanting to draw attention to their group, DKay had opted to shadow Kaiya as she walked through the city streets in order to reach their meeting place. He had kept a reasonable enough distance so that no one could assume they were companions, though close enough that he could aid her in a moment’s notice.
As if he trusted a woman to hold such a precious item all by her lonesome.
Pleased when he had been able to make it outside of the city without any trouble, DKay surveyed the group that had already made it to the lake. He tried to tell himself he was taking everyone’s presence into account, but he knew that he was really only looking for one person.
His heart gave a sudden leap and his mouth went dry when he caught sight of her.
Keep it cool. He told himself. Remember to breathe.
He had never…felt like this before. This was it though, and he knew it.
Once in a lifetime, a person was given the chance to do it right. And this was his moment.
Dear Gods don’t let me screw this up.
“Willow-Stones.” He said as he casually meandered over to her, “Good to see you alive and well.”
And…he had screwed it up. What kind of opening line was that? What was he? Captain Awkward, today?
“I…had been…concerned by your unconsciousness.” He ventured slowly and cleared his throat. He stared anywhere but at Astrid. The sky, the ground, the lake. But all he really wanted to see was her smile. __________________________________________________________________________________________ But dragons live forever.

Astrid was having the weirdest dream.
She was trying to kill something. Hordes and hordes of zombie-like creatures descended upon her and her comrades. She shot left and right, taking them all out with expertly placed headshots. She had to save them. Had to protect him.
One face kept showing up. Pale and perfect, marred only by a single thin scar. Drawn with worry, or calm with concentration, he kept appearing as he led their group against the attack.
Then, the scene shifted. The two of them were alone in what looked like an unassuming suburban house. She was wearing simple cargo shorts and a black tank top, but there was some sort of plastic orange thing around her ankle. He was smartly dressed in an almost military-like black. There were others there, but Astrid couldn't remember their faces. Only his.
Dkay's.
They couldn't be seen by the others. The leader and the criminal? It would cause quite a scandal. He could even be fired. She would be thrown back in prison. They had to be careful.
Leaning in, Astrid sought his lips for a furtive, forbidden kiss...
--------
She woke up in a sweat, her tank sticking uncomfortably to her tanned skin. Someone was standing over her, a worried look on their pale face.
“D...Dkay?”
“What? No. It's Vesper. Are you ok?”
She felt dizzy, and her stomach churned. But she was alive.
“Y...Yeah. What happened?” Astrid sat up in the hotel bed.
“You swallowed a lot of poison gas in the tunnel. But it's ok! Fae and Aethan fixed you! We got the mirror. Everyone is safe.”
Good. That was good.
“I think I need some more rest....”
Vesper nodded furiously and left her to sleep.
-------
The next morning, she felt surprisingly refreshed. The sick, dizzy feeling she had the night before was completely gone. These doctors really knew their stuff. She was glad they were there.
Astrid didn't make much conversation with anyone; she figured they'd understand. The dream from the night before kept bugging her. It seemed so real and vivid, like a memory, but she had never been anywhere like that before. Those creatures didn't even exist. She just met this guy! Plus, she didn't even really like him....that much.
She opted for another Invisibility potion, as she was nearly the most suspicious looking of the bunch.
By the time they made it to the lake, it had worn off though.
She watched the ruckus between the two boys with little amusement. They were on a serious mission here, and they were goofing off like immature school boys. A grin did play on her lips when Eirian threatened to strike them both down. Atta girl...
With relief, Kaiya finally showed up with the mirror.
For some reason, her heart fluttered excitedly as the man from her dream showed up behind her. What was this? Was she developing a silly crush? She didn't have time for that kind of s**t...loving people only made it hurt worse when they left.
But still. She couldn't help but feel butterflies crashing around in her stomach as he approached her.
Her mouth suddenly felt dry. She couldn't speak. He was talking to her.
Why was he talking to her? What about Vesper? She was the leader of their strange group. He didn't seem like the type to worry about other people or make any friends... She opened her mouth.
“Uhhh...thanks.”
Brilliant, Astrid. Just brilliant.
“I'm..uh. I'm fine.” She cleared her throat. “Dr. Fae and Dr. Aethan are really, uh...talented”
She looked down at her feet, shuffling them around.
“So...” Wow, could she be any more awkward. “Oh, hey! I had a really weird dream last night. You were in it.”
WHAT. WHY did that come out of her mouth?? Now he'd think she was insane.
“I mean! Uhh! It wasn't too weird. We were like, killing these creatures...” Kill me now. Kill me now. Why can't I shut up. “Anyway!” She was sure she was blushing.
“I..I need to go clean my guns!”
She turned away from him, walking away from the group, sitting herself under a tree. Face burning, she didn't look back at him to see if he bothered following her and pulled out her guns. Pulling her bandana off her face, she began furiously dusting her twin babies. OOC: Wow, that was obnoxiously long. Sorry. XP Also, like Enmy, sorry about being super lame and cheesy. But this DKay/Astrid thing has been planned for about 5 years. So it needs to happen.

The girl, Kaiya's, hotel was quite lovely and very accommodating. She quite obviously did not have difficulty in paying for their arrangements, and hadn't seemed the least bit hesitant or resentful in requesting a larger space. Since they were only staying for one single night, Ali saw no harm in accepting what was offered, with warm, while not overdone, gratitude. A small part of her still balked at the thought of purposely losing consciousness in a room of vaguely-known acquaintances, but she managed to fall asleep next to the Gemini with minimal effort. Breakfast the following morning was absolutely delicious, perfect for regaining energy after the night's hectic events, and preparing for the new day. She ate neatly enough, though if either of her companions took exception to the amount she saw fit to consume, they chose not to comment.
While the calculating side of her decided that she should inconspicuously tail the bearer of their mirror to the others, the spontaneous girl who decided to join the quest last night, chose to make her own way out of town. Although, making her own way out of town involved going further into the center of town first; she couldn't resist a little reconnaissance. She stopped to gossip with a few vendors and guards with whom she had become familiar over the past month – everyone was talking about the collapse of the capitol building. Some were quick to blame shoddy workmanship in the builder's guild from the last time the place had been resurfaced. Others simply bemoaned the destruction of a historical monument. The theories on sabotage ranged from startlingly accurate, to tales of corruption within the government, a mass breakout from a secret underground torture facility, experiments involving snails mated to fruit trees, and other, even more wildly exaggerated fantasies. Of course, the self-absorption of civilians didn't let such a dramatic event overshadow their own daily lives. Bakers stoked their ovens, vendors called attention to their bargains, and children played their invented games. The usual, banal gossip of matchmaking mothers and haggling shoppers mixed into the street talk in only a slightly smaller proportion than usual because of the Capitol's collapse.
After three-quarters of an hour's wandering, Ali carefully began navigating her way out to the city's walls. She chose a gate further from the lake than strictly necessary, so that anyone keeping track of city departures would not know her direct route. While the guards were certainly more thorough, and the line at the gate was much longer than usual because of the extra time they were taking, Ali experienced no problems. Once more she became simply Vivian Dio. She answered their questions as the girl traveler, recent addition to Mamma B’s dance troupe turned wanderer for a time again. She erased the creation of Alianna Verdane, and spoke as she would have had she made the decision to leave Mirr, rather than follow the “Wanted” notice last night at the clock’s toll of six. Her bag was superficially searched as a matter of procedure, but she carried nothing in it that would warrant confiscation or suggest nefarious doings. She had noticed that every few people, someone’s belongings skipped this cursory check, and hoped that Kaiya and her baggage had made it past the city’s limits, either through luck, bribe, the look of an honest face, or perhaps the scaling of a wall or two.
She walked directly outward until out of sight of the city walls and apart from any fellow morning travelers. Then she turned in the direction of the lake and took up a light run, just faster than a jog, but much more relaxed than a sprint. She found the location with little difficulty, and arrived to find Kaiya, the mirror safe, and various other members of their group scattered around the lakeshore. She set down her pack with a muttered “Hey guys,” before turning to properly survey the situation and take in the team’s general health, taking note of who had yet to show up.

----- YOU----- POOR ----- SWEET ----- INNOCENT ---------- THING dry--- your--- eyes --- and --- testify FEAR is only in our minds----- Taking----- over----- ALL ----- the----- time Healing the sick had been a simple matter. There were no injuries he had not encountered during his time serving as a military medic. Child’s play really. Especially with the aid of Vesper’s potions, the procedures had gone without a hitch.
Late into the night, rather than sleep, Aethen had directed himself to a local bar. He downed another glass, relishing the bitter taste on his tongue. The cool glass on his lips lingered for a moment as the doctor thought to himself. He was on a team now. A motley crew that came from all walks of life. He had gotten their names through observance—hearing the team speak to one another—and through simply asking. They all seemed nice enough. All were here for their own goals and purposes. Would they be able to band together despite their differences?
The short, round glass was placed on the polished wood of the island countertop. He spun it with gently calloused fingers, watching it with his sunset eyes and continuing to lose himself in his thoughts. The team did not trust him. He could feel it. Ignoring the ruckus of boys attempting to prove their manliness within the tavern, Aethen thought of each member…Garrett, Biq, Faye…Ali, Kaiya, Brett…Astrid, DKay, Riu…the twins, Sakura, Eirian…
He signaled to the bartender for another glass, offering a weak smile as he did so. He was not sure what he could do to make his team more accepting of him. Perhaps it was his dark demeanor—a man with a past he would rather not speak of. Perhaps it was his strange sense of humor. Perhaps it was just his sophisticated air and natural sneer. No, he was not a nice person. He knew that well enough. But perhaps he could sway them to at least think of him as a friend instead of a monster.
“Tomorrow is a new day.” He muttered to himself. “New beginnings, new choices.” He took a gentlemanly sip of his new drink. He would just have to hope he made some good choices tomorrow.
- - -
Getting to the lake had been of little difficulty. He just did what he was supposed to do. Checkout with the city guards. Oh sure they had tried to be intimidating. They had tried to rough him up by searching his belongings and interrogation. He had passed each test with a flawless smile and cheeky wit. But he gave them polite answers. Always polite.
They had no choice but to allow the doctor to pass. After all, he was an intellectual. A man who dedicated his life to saving lives. He could not be involved with last night’s heist and destruction. Especially when he had documented reports of his urgent need to get to Hartshire. He was needed there in order to perform an extensive surgery. Only a man with his molecular specialization could undergo such a strenuous task. Time was of the essence!
No matter how he actually obtained such documentation.
Strolling out of the city, Aethen inhaled deeply and made his way to the agreed upon meeting spot. Ah, the lake. What a romantic place to come together.
Donning his white trench coat, the Libra inhaled a deep breath. He adjusted the slim belt holding up his tailored black pants and the dark blue button up shirt that emphasized an athletic build. He had styled ebony hair just perfectly this morning. It was pushed to the side, only slightly obscuring one of his sunset eyes in a shadow of seductive mystery. Oh and it swayed just perfectly in the wind today. Yes. Today was going to be a good day. He could feel it. He had even managed to match his socks with his shirt! There was no way today could go wrong.
He appeared at the group’s side just as Eirian had cast her lightning bolt. Evidently a bit of a quarrel had broken out between the two. How cute.
“Now, now…” He spoke with a mischievous smile. He crossed one arm, holding the elbow of the other. He motioned flippantly in the air with his free hand, before resting his chin in it playfully, “We should give boys time to be boys. Don’t spoil their fun.”
(( OOC: Just wanted to remind our group that their guild leader is competent enough to produce these ridiculously long posts that somehow qualify the person to be an advanced literate. About 700 words. I'll go for 1000 with DKay next time. wink ))

Sedrick ҞinȺi ♌ How disgusting! It was utterly lower class. The twins had just spent the night in the dirt. The dirt! Okay, so this was totally high maintenance, but Kin didn’t care. He was uncomfortable sleeping on the cold, hard ground. He’d much rather be back in his nice, warm bed.
And indeed he was fully aware that this was an adventure and could call for spending nights on the grass, but after a tiring transformation he wanted something a little more comfortable to sleep on. It was too bad that the two needed to keep a low profile.
Sedrick rolled over his eyes meeting with the sleeping face of his sister. Brows stayed locked in a furrow. He was highly irritated. But as his sister continued to sleep his expression softened. She was about the only important thing to him. Kitta was the one thing that he’d do anything for; she kept him going and in line. She was the one that wanted this adventure, and he was going to do it for her even if he had his own intentions.
His voice reached out to her in a whisper, “Kitta, it’s time to wake up. We have to regroup.”
---
And regroup they did. The pair strode up to the group easily. Kinai fancied a scowl like normal while his sister appeared as chipper as ever. His ears caught the medic’s comment. “If you think rolling around in the dirt is fun,” he responded with a scoff. He glanced to the two that were previously in a quarrel with a rather ‘I’m better than you’ look.
Everyone looked to be doing a whole lot of nothing. Riu and Vesper had been gathering items, the really tan woman and pale man were conversing, and the others were either standing around or chatting. Even though they had to wait for the others it was still rather unproductive. What was next on the list? Curiosity took over.
As silently as the first time this happened, the male Leo walked up behind Vesper and whispered in her ear. “What’s next?”
What a creepy way to get her attention. However if the reaction were as similar as the last time, he’d be ready. (See page 5/6.)
I want the end of the world; you want the new.

Fae had to admit, the boy’s trick was rather impressive… but soaking her was something she wasn’t going to put up with! She grabbed the smirking ‘pirate’ by the arm.
“If you’re going to make a nuisance of yourself, you can use all that energy to fix it. Go get some dry firewood so we can start a fire to dry off!” She pointed at a copse of trees a little ways away then stormed off, not wanting to look at his stupid grin anymore… it made her stomach twist a little, like she was going to be sick, and she couldn’t afford illness.
She ended up by the quiet man with mechanical hands, who was desperately drying off his pet dragon, who appeared to have gotten a lot of water into her gears. His tools were also soaked and scattered by the wave, some sinking into the soft mud. Fae began retrieving them and polishing them off with her towel. The boy saw what she was doing and looked ready to protest, but finally offered her a weak, thankful smile. After a few minutes everything was again assembled in an orderly fashion and drying on the rock, the small dragon steaming as water escaped from her body.
“Th-thanks…” the boy, Brett, murmured. “You didn’t have to… I don’t want to be a bother.”
Fae waved off his gratitude. “If it were my scalpels getting lost, I wouldn’t want someone to walk on by and leave them. My family believes in treating others as you would treat yourself.
“That’s kind of strange…”
“What?”
“Well… I always thought most centaurs acted more like… like him. All the ones I’ve met do, at least.” He pointed to the oaf. Fae sighed.
“Most do. My family is just strange.”
“I guess appearances can be deceiving…” Brett pulled his hat down more firmly. Fae resisted rolling her eyes at the saying and went off to wash out her towel. She thought of the pirate wannabe’s appearance and felt her face flush slightly. No, appearances were honest in this case; he was honestly a moron. She probably was so sickened by his stupidness that it made her stomach feel strange. That was all.
((Sorry, they interacted. I just wanted to kick off Fae and Biq a little... wink ))

Ben raised a trembling hand and took the healing potion.
“Thanks..” managed to huff out his tears subsiding.
Slowly he administered some of the potion to his eye, luckily the glass shard that had wedged in his eye was not that large, it was just the fact it was stuck in his eye that it hurt more than reasonable. He slowly removed it and quickly dropped more potion in his eye. The darkness muted till light and grey masses came back into his vision.
..thank yuno, I was sure that was it for my eye… Ben sighed.
Ben looked over to the grey lump that would have been where he dropped off Vesper. Now that his focus had been returned he wanted to make sure the girl in violet was okay. But before any of this could be assessed everyone was going in separate directions. Without much though Ben shrunk down into the form of a cat and sprung after the healer. But it was too late and in his limited vision everyone disappeared.
“Wh..where?” Ben stammered…
Ben remembered Vesper saying something about meeting at a lake to the north. So using the last bit of his strength Ben turned north and darted northward.
After wondering aimlessly north of Mirr, Ben collapsed next to a lake in some high cattails that were gently wafting in the breeze and he slept for the night.

Yet another wasted few days.
Pale blue eyes stared out from an ovaled face as Crest viewed the serenity of the placid lake. He’d been allowed out the great capitol’s walls once his trade and alibi were made clear, though it had waylaid him significantly. It was bad enough that he had waited around so long without a caravan after bringing one in , but now he had been dawdling further due to circumstances beyond his control. Really, how was he supposed to predict a raid on the capitol? Whispers had come through the lower city all morning, some saying that there was a war coming, others calling it a terrorist act. Still more, those wishful thinkers, had cried that something had been stolen, a secret treasure that had been guarded so very well.
He was disinclined to believe in gossip, and really didn’t care otherwise. Taking The reins of Astor in a loose hold, he dismounted, letting the large brute walk without his weight for a while to relax his muscles. “This is but a brief rest, my friend.” He murmured lowly into an ear that swiveled to take in his voice. “You’ve had a good rest, and need to get back into the swing of things.” The horse huffed out a long breath, as though responding in kind. The dark haired human always believed that his companion could at least understand him, though many laughed at the thought. Others, those of his work and the like, believed it for true, for there could be no better relationship that a man and his horse. If taxed in battle, working together was vital to remain a team.
Leading him to the shore, he let the broad-chested steed drink his fill, stepping back to check him over. Is rich, dark chocolate coat was glossy from an early morning brushing, untouched by sweat that many horses would have already shown signs of from the short ride they had had from Mirr. His coloring was unmarred by any other, save for the white mark on his forehead, and the darker brown that faded in above his hooves.
Crest’s musings were cut short as a bright flicker went up in his peripheral. Turning his gaze, he found more travelers a bit farther south of himself. His guard had automatically come up, but once the scene played itself out, he began to relax, noting it as some sort of play between the odd assembly. Elves, Humans, even a pair of Centaurs, was it some sort of traveling troupe? Immediately his mind began to wheel. Though many of them appeared armed, it was never too much to see if someone needed another guard on the road.
Glancing to his horse, he found the stallion already finished and looking off in the distance, seemingly sensing the same as his rider. “Come on then, my friend. We shall see if this can become a job.” Instead of slipping back in the saddle, he preferred to walk the short way, possibly to show off the gleaming of his armor and the obvious well wrought hilt of his sword. He remained quiet in his approach, not wanting to be as loud as the brash young dirty blond male that he could hear nearly as far as where he had started.

Although Eirian saw the newest arrival, and although she saw his lips moving, her skills in reading lips were essentially nonexistent, and she had no idea what he had said. Considering his posture, she assumed he was mocking her or being otherwise arrogant, and it just annoyed her further. She wasn’t even sure that she knew who he was. Had he been at that initial meeting? Eirian felt that he had not been present, but her memory failed her, and she couldn’t be sure. However, she stalled any judgement and instead spoke, directing her words at the new arrival.
“Sorry,” she said, pointing with her free hand to her ear. “I can’t hear you.”
She inhaled deeply, dismayed to realize that casting even a minor spell was quite tiring. Combined with the pain radiating up and down her leg, she was simply tired. Eirian decided that she didn’t really care what the boys did, so long as they didn’t bother her again. She took a few hobbled steps away from the source of the “conflict” and sat back down, still annoyed, but moreso at her own weakness than anything else. Plus her clothes were still wet, especially her gloves, and it began to bother her the more she thought about it. Some part of her considered stripping so her clothes would dry faster, but the more she considered it, the more Eirian realized that it would probably be inappropriate and awkward for the more conservative members of the group.
Plus she was convinced the male members of the group were complete idiots, and even without her hearing, Eirian had no desire to deal with them.
{Eh, baby post. Better than nothing, and someone should start posting again, no?}

Knights in shining armor... _______________________...Don't exist.DKay’s features visibly darkened when Astrid complimented the two doctors and their medicinal abilities. It wasn’t so much the centaur that the gothic man was concerned with. But DKay had to wonder…was it Aethen that had cared for her injuries? His blood ran cold at the thought.
But Astrid’s next babble of words caught the Taurus off-guard. She had a dream…about him?
Thin lips opened to reply but before he could get neither a snarky remark nor a sly innuendo out, the gunslinger was walking away from him. A gloved hand lifted as if to catch the girl’s arm. His lips moved as if to ask her not to leave. But DKay stayed his hand and held his tongue. Instead, his visible sapphire eye watched as the girl walked away. A grim expression was etched onto his pallor face as he exhaled a sigh.
Well, there went his golden ray of opportunity. Opportunity for what, the albino was not even sure. But all he knew was he felt empty and like he had just lost something.
But there was no time for moping now.
Lifting his head a little taller and turning to face the majority of his teammates, the Taurus regained his arrogant demeanor and frigid composure. He had no time to dilly-dally in things such as feelings.
Eirian’s voice broke the gothic man from his thoughts. Turning to face her, he realized that she was not speaking to him, but to Aethen. He had to fight to keep a frown from his face. Thoughts the Taurus would not yet speak of swam in his head, tangling themselves into a dark cloud of mistrust. But like a calm before the storm, DKay held his peace. Lifting his gaze a little further, the albino noticed a new face coming steadily closer to their group. For a moment’s beat, DKay’s eyes narrowed in apprehension before regaining his posture. He sensed the approaching of a potential rival. The armor, the confident stride, the hand on the man’s weapon of choice…
He was most curious to see if their exchange would end in the drawing of blades. DKay was honestly interested to see how it would end. While fighting was not a favorite pastime, exchanging steel with someone well trained in the art of swordsmanship was a learning experience the man did not often pass up. It would be nice to test his skills against a true warrior and not just hired mercenaries or guards. Of course, the albino realized with a half-smirk, he could be sorely disappointed. This could be nothing more than a boy pretending to be a soldier.
DKay stepped towards the stranger, his poker face blank and unreadable. His head tilted to one side as he regarded the man. Whether DKay meant or not, he easily assumed the role of “body guard” for his teammates and their well-being.
Deep down, he really was just an over-protective papa bear.
“Anything I can you help you, Sir?” DKay asked, raising a brow in interest. __________________________________________________________________________________________ But dragons live forever.

Before the human and horse could even make it into the ring of people, they were confronted. The pale male (for Bree XD) stood straight and had the air of someone who had been through enough with his weapons to be experienced. Crest kept his pace even, stance nonthreatening as he approached, taking his hand from his sword to slow his horse. "I was on the other side of the lake and saw your horseplay. It made me wonder if you'd be a caravan heading out and in need of another sword on your way. The roads can be rather full of highwaymen near to the city."
It was quite a mouthful for the normally quiet swordsman, perhaps pulled from his lips by the amount of people now looking at him. He'd truly never seen such a gathering, his mind reiterating their oddity as he scanned over them all. "Are you some sort of entertainment troupe?" IT would be the only thing to make sense of their gathering, a small possibility, but still feasible.

----- you----- POOR ----- SWEET ----- INNOCENT ---------- THING dry--- your--- eyes --- and --- testify FEAR is only in our minds----- Taking----- over----- ALL ----- the----- time This girl was not one that was to be easily amused, Aethen determined with a look over of Eirian. Ah, another jaded soul. She probably would not trust him any more than a rabbit would trust a hawk not to eat it.
But then again, which soul currently present wasn’t at least a little broken. Chipped beneath those porcelain faces. They all repelled each other like electrons. The doctor almost chuckled at his private thoughts. If anything, he was more like Beryllium. And maybe the group was more like the Noble Gases—they did not seem at all like they wanted to interact and form the compound of a cohesive group. But then again, the reaction of water and Calcium was also very applicable—
“Oh, it was nothing really. Just commenting on the boys’ play.” Aethen said easily as he broke himself from his thoughts. He offered the magic caster a disarming smile. Sunset eyes rested on the woman’s face as he unfolded his arms and offered a hand to shake, “I don’t believe I’ve had the pleasure, Madam. My name is Aethen. I’m one of the doctors along with Dr. Fae.”
Although he still could not put his faith a girl so young playing with the fine lines between life and death.
