"No that is quite alright. The lowest I got is a 20 anyway so I'll be right back." Dan said as he reached over to take the receipt. His fingers gently traced over the back of Lisa's fingers as he slowly pulled the receipt and stood up.
"I'll be right back so don't run away. I know where you sleep." Dan said with a wink as he began to head toward the counter from earlier.

Once Dan left Lisa slowly lifted her hands to her face. Her fingertips touched her cheeks. She felt warm in the face. He was so kind, so sweet, so gentle. She would have replied to him, assuring him that she would stay there, but her tongue seemed to swell for a moment. Lisa sighed, she had to gain control of her mind before Dan returned. He would be back very soon she knew. Lisa started by laying her head against the window so that her cheek rested against the cool glass. It was refreshing. Already she was feeling more down to earth.

Once paid for he got a box to take the remainder of the pizza home. He only had one slice left and she had 2 so he didn't worry about getting two boxes. The two of them were going to her place anyway. Dan let this last thought settle in his mind. He was sure the two of them would be fine in her room. After all she has always been a nice girl and he would never do anything against someone's wishes.
Soon he made his way back to find Lisa relaxing against the glass of the window. He thought it would be funny to come up and surprise her but decided against it. After all he walked so quietly normally that most people didn't hear him coming anyway. Instead he came back to his seat and began scooping the rest of the pizza into the box. "I bet that feels really nice." Dan said as the box lid closed.

Lisa hardly heard Dan's approach, she was aware of the rubbing noises of the pizza as it slid into the cardboard box. She knew Dan had returned. Opening her eyes she looked over at him, her face leaving the glass, leaving a clear spot in the fog of the window outlining the skin that had been touching. Lisa laughed. "Yes, actually, it felt very nice!" Now one half of her face was it's normal tone, the other half was red. She didn't know, and she didn't care. "So did everything go alright at the register? I'm glad you got a box!"
She slid to the end of the stall and stood up. This put her at an awkward situation that she had not foreseen coming up. As she stood she had misjudged Dan's distance from her. She found herself standing centimeters from him, some of the greater curves of her body even less. This surprised Lisa, and she seemed stuck for a moment before she continued farther. Her first instinct was to jump backwards, which she did. At the moment her feet started to land something hit her hard in the back of the leg. The chair she had gotten up from had trapped her between it and Dan. The contact with the cool surface startled Lisa once more and caused her to lose balance. She fell back onto the seat, her hands were somehow even with her face, and her eyes were wide. There was a throbbing pain in her elbow where she had thunked it against the table. Mortified, she was mortified.
Lisa clapped her hands over her eyes and sighed. She was sure her face was as red as it's ever been. "I'm so sorry." She squeaked timidly. "I am so so sorry." She lay still for a moment trying to get her bearings. She was slightly disoriented, still horrified.

Dan caught sight of Lisa getting up suddenly out of the corner of his eye. He was going to move so she could get up more but she suddenly moved backward. His head turned to see her stumble backward and solidly hit her elbow on the table. She looked embarrassed but Dan paid no need to her reddening face nor her apologies as he moved toward her. "Oh my goodness are you alright Lisa?" He asked as gently touched her arm. He wasn't sure how delicate Lisa was so for now he worried more then anything.

Lisa nodded but didn't say much of anything. She was trying to gather her wits. There was a slight throb also in the back of her head where she had hit the chair. Oh wow he must think she was a klutz, or else a spaz. Lisa hated that thought and continued to lay for a moment longer with her hands over her eyes. She prayed that he couldn't see her like this. She was like an emu trying to hide her face so she could not be seen.
Finally Lisa sat up, she felt a little dizzy, maybe even light headed. She removed her hands from her face, knowing fully well that her eyes were red and burning at this point. She smiled up at Dan, but her eyes were closed, and although she was trying very hard to be a big girl she couldn't help letting one large, wet tear roll down her cheek. She sniffed quietly to herself. "Well should we be going?" Lisa asked softly. "I think this place is going to close soon anyway." She predicted. The restaurant had indeed thinned out considerably. Lisa was very thankful for this.

"I don't think thst is a good idea. At least not until I check on you." Dan said as he noticed a tear moving down her cheek. "Open your eyes Lisa. I want to make sure you didn't get a concussion. That was a pretty spectacular hit you took ad I will not chance you being seriously injured."
Dan's voice was not as light hearted as normal instead being more concerned and serious. "Now come on and open those lovely eyes of yours for me alight?"

Lisa dropped her head into her hands so that her palms dug into her eye sockets. She applied pressure, trying to "squeeze" the rest of her tears out of her eyes. This was embarrassing enough without tears. She blinked and sat up, straight and tall. Opening her eyes they were pink. She had not cried that much and so her eyes weren't all that badly off. She took in a deep breath of air and opened her eyes to look up at Dan. She tried to smile. She was having such a flood of emotions at the moment.
It surprised her, kind of, when she saw Dan before her. His eyes were stern, and they were caring, they were concerned for her. His tone had also changed. Could it be that he wasn't judging her on this at of foolishness, but instead her was really concerned for how she was doing? Lisa blinked and gulped softly to herself. "I think I'm alright Dan." She said in a nearly controlled voice. "Really, it wasn't that bad."

Dan nodded as he looked deeply into her eyes observing her irises. Her eyes seemed to be dilating properly allowing Dan to relax. "Well at least you don't have a concussion. It simply wouldn't do to have a concussion. Especially out here away from home." Dan said as he touched her cheek where the tears ran down. "All right let's go then. No need to hurry and if you need you can lean on me."

Lisa blinked. She kept her eyes on his as he looked into hers. She smiled once he was done. She looked down, as if trying to see his hand on her cheek. Her hands moved on it's own accord. Slowly it went up to her cheek. Her finger tips felt were the tear had fallen, and her palm rested over his hand. The second was bliss, purely wonderful, but broken by the sound of his voice. "Ummm," She hummed and looked up at Dan. "Yes, shall we go?" She inquired looking up at him once more. "I think we have some work ahead of us tonight. I should be fine."

Dan smiled down toward Lisa as he began to straighten himself to a full standing position all while allowing his hand to stay upon her cheek. Her hand felt nice on his hand making him all to happy. He could have kissed here now even with her red eyes and tear streaked face but he respected her to much to take her first kiss like that. With his free hand he offered her a hand to stand.

Accepting Dan's hand Lisa closed her eyes and stood with Dan's help. She felt much better this time around. She had much more standing space, and this made her more comfortable. Lisa knew they had to move, to leave the restaurant. It wasn't appropriate to be standing here doing this. She bowed her head and dropped her hand down to her side. She took a deep breath and looked up at Dan. "Well then Dan, should we go?" She would leave the plans for the rest of the evening up to debate on what they would do. She would understand if Dan didn't want to learn how to dance. She would understand, but still, maybe they would work.

"All right then the exit is this way. Let's start slow and move as best as you can." Dan said as he escorted Lisa with his hand still in hers. His other hand now free again took the box in hand. Dan escorted Lisa outside taking note that the misty rain had cleared into a break of sorts. "That is a good omen. Maybe we can get back without getting to wet."

Lisa smiled, he was being so cautious, almost like she was made of paper. Lisa kind of liked it. It made her feel as if she were being protected, as if she were truly a lady, feminine and all. "I think I'll be alright if you'd like to go any faster. I'm feeling alright." Lisa said picking up her drink and carrying it in her free hand.
Once they were outside she looked up at the still cloudy sky and at the area around them. "That would be awesome! It's not so fun to get wet, because then we'd have to change into dry clothes." Lisa realized she had not planned for getting wet. She had her costumes, her normal clothes from the plane flight, some for the ride home, and some pajamas. She didn't have any wet clothes. "Maybe we should hurry in case it wants to start up again!" Lisa said squeezing his hand as if to motivate him. "Shall we?"

"Okay if you are sure we can go faster." Dan said returning the squeeze as they made a faster pace for the hotel. Not quite running but not really walking they made good time to the hotel and made it back before the sprinkles could make it back. The welcoming doors opened for the two of them as they walked into the lobby.
