"With all due respect, sir, fat chance of that happening." Ken said, laughing. "About time I learned something new." he said, leaning against a tree next to him to read more of the scroll. "Dad wouldn't teach me any jutsu, said the Academy needed to at least teach me something. Too bad it takes a while to get to that something." he said.
"So, what do you recommend first?" he asked after a moment. The scroll had about four jutsu he could learn.

Ken nodded, reading over the description of the technique. Not too difficult, and sounded effective. "Alright." he said, rolling the scroll up. He went over the seals in his head, and made sure to preform them "dry" about four times, not casting any jutsu, just practising the hand seals. On the fifth run, he concentrated the chakara.
"Raikou Bunshin no Jutsu." he said calmly. A puff of smoke appeared next to him, replaced by an imitation of him within seconds. "Well?" he asked, looking up at the Raikage.

[I know, which is why I didn't say a perfect clone. I was setting it up so you could criticize something about it, and Ken would have to work on fixing the flaws until he eventually got it right. Want me to continue, or do you want to edit?]

[Alright. I'll mention again if I'm doing the same thing as before.]

Ken looked a little surprised. He got it on the first try? Beginners luck, most likely, but he wasn't going to knock it. He would have to keep training it to make sure it wasn't beginners luck though.
"Flickering lights, right..." he said, picking up the scroll again and unravelling it. He began to read it over, then put it down. He did the same thing as before: 4 dry runs, followed by a final run, the actual one.
"Yurayura Ranpu no Jutsu." he said. Ken looked at his fingertips. They glowed a little, briefly, before flickering out to nothing, with a faint snap not unlike a lightbulb going out. "Hmm." he said simply, about to try it again.

Ken started up a second attempt at learning the jutsu. He did the standard four dry runs, then tried on the fifth.
"Yurayura Ranpu no Jutsu." he said. This time, his hands began to glow with light. He kept the chakara flowing, and though they flickered and almost went out, he managed to keep the jutsu going for a little while. "Well?" he asked.

xxxxxxxxxxCraig opened the scroll, finding a small list of their clan jutsu. He might as well learn them. Or what there was that he could learn at his current level. 'Matatabi - Silver Vine' looked like a good one to start off with. He hadn't done many clan jutsu. Craig continued studying the scroll, learning all that he could before going on and learning the hand signs.
