His gaze was just..wandering, in a word, around the dance floor when he noticed Rain alone. He wasn't sure what about the red dress really set her off, but she looked..
Austin gulped down his drink, and left the glass at the table. He straightened his hat, adjusted his shirt, and made his way across the floor. He had a small stride of confidence going, probably because he had a particularly good martini in his system, but nonetheless, it was made obvious in his steps.
He stopped three feet short of Rain, and removed his hat smoothly, placing at his chest with a small bow.
"Evening. Might I ask your name?"

Rain smiles a bit as she watches Austin walk up to her. "Ello, Im Rain" She says responding to him, as she gives a curtsy. she had never seen the guy before but she figured it was because she was rather new at the school.
"And you are?" she ask admiring his confidence. He looked nice, and she was glad to have someone to talk too.
Rain swayed with the music, not being able to stand still. It was probably because she had been sitting down for the whole first part of the evening, but she was happy to be talking with the guy infront of her, instend of sitting at the table all night listening to that James kid.

Happy that she wasn't scowling at him thus far, Austin continued cautiously with his approach.
"I'm Austin, Austin Gonzales. Nice to meet you, Rain."
Austin calmly placed the hat back on his head and pressed it down softly, before bringing his hand down.
"Forgive me if I'm being forward, but that's a lovely dress you have on. It caught my attention, so I thought I'd come say hello."
He smiled warmly to add effect to the compliment, hoping this too, would work, and he would find himself with a date finally.

Rain smiles happily not being able to hold it back " Its nice to meet you too" she listened as the music changed songs again, and she became even happier that she had come to the dance, because of the company she had and how the music that played always ended up being a song i liked.
"Why thank you." Rain says with i light pick color coming to her face. she was a bit nervous being around someone like him, but she loved being in his company. he was sweet and polite and she really liked that.
"Would you like to dance?" Rain asks with confidence in her voice. She liked the way he smiled and it gave her more confidence.

Austin tipped his hat back a bit, revealing a bit more of his face.
"I'd be delighted."
'Dear god, here we go. Don't fail me now, feet.'
Austin was used to all kinds of footwork from his experiences in Martial arts. He knew tons of dances; but they were all weapons forms and style forms.
'Just relax. Move with her and mimic her footwork, but remember to lead. Follow the beat.'
He offered Rain his hand.
"Shall we?"

Rain smiled and takes his hand, as she leads there way to the center of the dace floor. She let her long pinkish brown hair flow behind her, and though about how she had never really danced with anyone before.
Feeling a bit nervous she listened as the song slow down into a different song, and she placed her arms around his neck. She swayed from side to side wishing that she was a better dancer.
Rain could be the most graceful, and klutziest person anyone would ever meet. She was always good at skating, and solo dancing, yet she would trip over her own feet when walking. She focused on not falling and trying to be graceful, as she looked into his eyes

Austin moved carefully with Rain, trying to remain calm when she placed her arms around his neck. Her skin was smooth and cool to the touch, and it gave him a minor case of goosebumps.
He danced slowly with her, trying not to seem stiff. When she looked him in the eyes, he looked back, and, to keep things moving, spoke softly.
"So Rain..what bade you come here tonight?"
(i'm gonna head to bed now, I'll drop another post tomorrow when i have time)

He chuckled and brushed back his hair back again. Why of course I do my dear. He still held the rose unmoving. I plan to dance with you and every lovely lady here. And you my dear, are very much so worth it. He blinked his eyes blues at her. Though I should ask you, what is your name fair lady?

Rain finally got the hang of dancing, and became less worried about falling flat on her face. she remembered all the times she had fallen down the stairs, or how she would run into things all the time, and smiled at the thought the she had accomplished something new, without being her klutzy normal self.
"I had come here wanting to meet new people, but when i found out that this kid James was my date well.." i thought about he had walked out of the building looking like he was ready to cry
"... I made him a bit mad so he left me here alone" She says in a calm voice responding to his question "And what brings you here on this lovely night?" She asks him softly as she listens to the music. ((ok i will talk to you later then))

Phae knew it. He was insane. No doubt about that. Well she'd just have to keep her distance like she did everyone else. It couldn't be that hard. "Its Raphaela" She gave him her full name, and then continued. "If I had friends they'd call me Phae. But I don't. So theres that." she tried to think of an excuse. "And I can't dance with you. I'm...too short...." she mentally kicked herself. Too short? What kind of an excuse was that?
She then realized he was still holding out the rose. She finally reached out and grabbed it. She stared at it intently for several moments. "You haven't told me your name yet."

He smiled again showing off his whites "Raphaela so so lovely," he chuckled. "Phae. I will call you that then. Phae." His smile widened when she took his flower. "In the dance of love you could never be too small or too tall." He glanced around the room at all the women. Then back to the girl known as Phae. "Me? Why my dear I am the man of your dreams. I am Lancaster."

Phae narrowed her eyes and hissed at him. "I think you're psychotic.". She started to stand up. Her knees felt a bit weak and she tried to pretend it was from sitting down in the same position for so long. "Look Lancaster you seem like a nice guy. Crazy, but nice. But I really can't dance with you." she realized that unlike the others she was actually having a hard time coming up with an excuse. This was the first time in her life this had ever happened, and she didn't like it. She was having a difficult time processing it. Besides all he wanted to do was dance. It wasn't even like he was proposing! But, she couldn't. What if they danced and they became friends? What then? "It really wouldn't be a good idea. I'm sorry. Its nothing against you. I just..." she thrust her hand around the room. "Besides there are much prettier girls here than me."

Ryu punched a wall out of boredom and it caused a crack to go from the floor to the ceiling and noticing this he walked away from it, in case anyone noticed. So he walked to the far end of the room and took another cup of punch and once again threw the cup away while starting to get a little annoyed that his date wasn't there and he started thinking about leaving because it was starting to get really boring.

Lancaster held in his laughter a bit. "Perhaps I am. Psychotic in love with you and all of these ladies". He watched as the small girl tried to stand. He leaned closer and took her hand pulling her up far above her feet touching the floor he blinked and smiled to her. "There we go" he said while resting her back to earth. "I plan to dance with every girl here. It seems fated that it is you that I dance with first."

Phae tried to pull away but his grip was too strong. He wasn't hurting her though, but it was very apparent that he had no intention of letting go. Why? It would figure that the egotistical weirdo of the party would trip over her feet. Why couldn't she bump into some shy man who couldn't even talk to women? He was making even Lucien seem normal by comparison.
"I'll fated." she mumbled. "Fall in love with me and that might be the last thing you do." again she tried to wiggle her way to freedom. There was just one problem. She didn't actually want to stop. She'd just met him. She found him to be an egotistical weirdo with a big head. But still, she was rather enjoying being with him. Which frightened her even more and caused her to try and get away with much more fervor. "Please just let me go. This isn't a good idea."
