You're nothing but spawn. The absent father to the hero, you dissappeared 10 years ago during a rountine mission to eradicate fiends. The hero will destroy you without breaking a sweat, but while you lie there dying he will get a good look at your custom-made armour and recognize it. This will lead him to investigate your death and dissappearance, only to learn the horrible truth of the country: the army is nothing more than a test group for human/fiend genetic splicing.

You are a door in a dungeon. Specifically the dungeon under the one cemetery in the game. The eyes follow the player as they approach and creep them out more so than the rest of the dungeon.

The basic student at the school that the hero is supposed to save. Only then to realize that there is no other hero in the story than yourself. Thus thrusting you into a large battle with a hoard of zombies to protect the school and your home town. Later on you will face the necromancer that raised these dead and are after your town and its supply of Twinkies (Zombieland reference there)

A holy warrior who once fought on the good side.
your wife, sister, girlfriend (or any other important female in your life) was killed and so you tried anything you could to bring her back.

the bad guy in the game offers you the power to do that, instead, when faced against the good guys, your power takes over you, mutating you into a weird squid thing

You are a black mage that serves as the main villain's side kick. If that main villain changes, so does your loyalty. You are a complicated boss to defeat when it comes to strategy, but with the right strategy, not all that difficult. Often, the villain party thinks that you've got some funny things to say, after all, you look like a court jester, and possibly are, but they only succeed in angering you, because you are, in fact, a very serious villain, though you know better than to turn on your party for simply trying to pester jokes out of you.

You are a rich snob from the nobility who always hangs out at the castle where the party has to go see the king every ten minutes to decide what they're going to do. While nothing you say has any plot importance, you give the player a lot of interesting tidbits about the world and the people in it, much of which consists of gossip. You look down on the party for being dirty and travel-worn and all and are generally a jerk, but you are a good person at heart -- You foil an assassination attempt on the main character, which the player only finds out incidentally after one of the girls in the party finally gets sick of your attitude and slaps you.

A student at the Academie, your specialty is your long shuriken. When your school is caught in a battle between the empire and the resistance, you join forces with the hero and help beat back the empire, much to the disgust of the other students. Cast away by your friends, you decide to join the resistance, and continue to fight the empire.
