Arch the Angel Sam didn't respond, and when she left continued to work out for the remainder of the class. Jeffery gave Kat a strange look at the end of it, after Sam was out of sight. "You blow it?" Kat gave Jeffery a sharp look, the gray in her eyes a bit cold. "I didn't blow anything. The kid got spooked so I backed off." She took a drink from her water bottle, snapping the cap back on after she finished. "He's paranoid, freakishly so. May have a right to be, but it's not going to change the fact." She shrugged her shoulders, "building a trust isn't going to happen any time soon, which means we've got to rely on a trust already built." She glanced at Jeffery, "that means it's your go."

"What am I supposed to tell him? Trust the crazy woman pretending to be 16? She's with the resistance against the Brotherhood of evil mutants? I don't think he's on the right side of that race card." He harrumphed quietly. "Well, what do you want me to tell him?"

Their meet-and-greet, and pamphlet giving lasted for most of the class, and ended with Crane issuing the pack-up order, which caught the attention of Marcus, who made his way to their tables. "Need a hand packing out?" He asked Crane, who turned to meet him. "No, not at all, mister...?" "Marcus. You can call me Marcus." HE said, offering his hand to Crane. Crane returned the handshake firmly, nodding to the other, "Thank you for the offer, Marcus. Take care." With that, Marcus turned to leave, and Crane added Marcus Shipp to his list.
Rook finally managed get his pass out of study hall and escape to the gym, headed to meet with Kat. Spending moments hunting for her in the gym, on the track, before finding her in the weight room, talking with Jeffery. He trotted up to them, a small grin on his face. "Howdy coach, Kat."

Kat stood up, and checked beneath her shirt to make sure the bullet wound hadn't opened up during the class. She let out a small breath of relief as she noted the bandage was still snow white. "Don't tell him anything. Ask him if he needs help." Kat placed a hand over her forehead a moment, holding it there. "Then let him do the telling."

He nodded back to her, shoving his hands in his pockets. "So, how goes the hunt?"

Jeffery made unhappy noises, grunting. He glanced at her bandage. "Oh, s**t. I..." he stammered, any heat in his voice dying out pitifully. "I forgot about the... yeah, I'll go get him.."
Before Samuel made it to the locker room, Jeffery caught up with him. "Hey Sam, I need to talk to you in my office." He said, Samuel shrugging and following him. Samuel was paranoid, but he trusted Jeffery, and needed to talk to him as well.
"What's up coach?"
"Sit down Sam, I wanna talk to you about last night." Jeffery said, taking a seat. He didn't have a desk in his office, it was barely even an office, but he was a gym teacher, he didn't honestly need one. "Specifically, about the guys who came for you."
"How'd you know they came for..." Sam stood up, his eyes narrowed. "The police wrote it off as a breaking and entering. How'd you know they came for me?"
"Be chill Sam." Jeffery spoke calmly. "I'm in contact with some people who are running from the people that went after you." Jeffery gave Sam a quick rundown of the whole super powers thing, including the burst of them in St. Eva and the Keepers.
"So.. you're saying I have super powers, and now the brother hood of evil wants to kill me?"
"I assume you do, they didn't tell me if you did, or what it was, but the bad guys want you. They wanted to kidnap you, but after you fought them off, they're going to try and kill you. It's not safe at home."
Sam shrugged, sitting now. "I already left. I only came to school today to see if there was anyone looking for me, those guys who came after me."
"I don't know if they were looking for you, but the Keepers were here today, they had a stand, the one with the little blind kid." He held up a hand. "That's not as important, do you have anywhere safe you can go? I think the people I know can find you a place, I'm not sure, but.. wait, where are you going?"
Sam had stood up, and started out the office. "I'm gonna find the guy."
"Sam! Sit down, Sam! This is a bad idea!" Jeffery hopped up, moving after him.
Samuel covered the distance quickly to the commons area, finding Crane quickly. "Hey sir, wondered if it was too late to get one of your flyers?" Sam smiled, holding his hand out to shake. Jeffery stopped at one of the entrances, watching the scene.

Crane turned to look at Sam, a plesant smile on his face as he fished one of the flyers up. "Absolutly not, sir." He said, handing one to him, "Is there anything I can help you with?"

Das Steube He nodded back to her, shoving his hands in his pockets. "So, how goes the hunt?" Kat looked at Jeffery a moment but remained quiet at his grumpy noises and stammering, wasn't much to say to it. Instead she turned back to Rook with a perplexed look on her face. "I'm having a hard time coming off as trustworthy. How about you?"

I can't even get them to start a discussion about the prospect of me selling them pot." Arch "No sire, that'll be it." Sam smiled, extending his other hand to shake. Crane shook his head, making a mental note of this kid also having powers before letting go with a friendly smile. "Take care then, sir. Be safe."

"Pfff, getting people to talk is nothing. Hell, I don't even need them to talk, I just need them to pucker. Information isn't going to always help you save a kid though," Kat gave a stray basketball a vicious kick, sending it flying across the gym. She moved her hands into her pocket, her features calm, but her shoulders tense. "This isn't working, Rook, and it feels like we're just bringing the wolves to the sheep, rather than taking the flock to safety."

Samuel didn't let go of Crane's hand though, pulling him close. "You, and whatever other super villain ******** you got, meet me at the football field at midnight tonight." Sam released his hand, leaving the area.
Jeffery, who had been out of sight, walked with Samuel, waiting till they were out of earshot of Crane and the area. "What the hell was that?!"

Crane's cheerful smile quickly turned sour at what Sam had said, remaining silent as the boy left. He turned to his gathered men, quickly recovering his demeanor. "Hurry, men. We have places to be tonight." He said loud enough to be heard by Jeffery and Sam. *** Rook sighed, and motioned for them to start walking. "Then we leave, and come up with a better idea. No sense trying to make this work if it isn't."
