i'd say the randoms have tailed off a bit, they were getting rather frequent at one point, so i expect something's been jiggled somewhere and they will be less for a while, it makes no difference where you hang out here though, they trully are random 3nodding

I don't think I've had a random event in well over 6 months... figured it must be because I've been here so long.

Though I did get free new clothes when I logged in today, apparently to go with the new layout Gaia has. This one is a lot different than the last go round of "change".

I like the new site design overall, and the free sets of items are great - a boon for new users, but good for us older users as well! Tweaks have been made since yesterday, presumably in response to user feedback - the only thing I'm still finding a bit off is the super-brilliant whiteness (need to get wraparound shades... wink ) and the shrunken avatar in the top right corner. But navigation is much easier, and the look and feel of the site is very fresh and streamlined. 3nodding

I am not good with change no matter where I have to deal with it...

Some change is good, so long as it's quarters, or even dimes... rofl

I'll take that kind of change any time

the glare from the white gives me a headache after a while when i'm online in the evening, but other than that i have no real complaints about the new layout.

oh, apart from one, clicked links don't change colour anymore, so i tend to get a little lost when i'm polling confused
hopefully they will do something about that though.

Many people are complaining, but it is no different than last time. I do not like the little picture in the upper left, that takes up too much space, I would like to be able to shrink that out of the page like we could with the headder on the last layout. Also, there is no easy way back to the menus when you are at your profile.

It's just so white... too bright. I liked the light blue or lavendar they used before.

I kinda wish they could make my own personal view of my avatar normal size. There's weird pixelization errors on it everytime I view a new page.

Also, with my poor eyesight (I only wear my contacts while driving) I can't really see the letters over the Fun-in-the-Sun graphic.

you sure it isn't the glare off those teeth that dazzling you and effecting your reading Harbone?

you're not one of these people who are too vain to wear glasses are you?
would you like to borrow mine?

Gonna have to get some bi-focals soon, Harbone? Or just some them cute little reading glasses?
PostPosted: Thu Jun 29, 2006 9:55 pm

These teeth are really doing their job well! I never thought I could be so irritating! I'm gonna have to become president of Teeth Club for Men (I liked it so much, I bought the company!)

IRL, I have a condition called Keratokonis, which is a gradually thinning of the cornea that cannot be corrected with glasses, adorable or otherwise. I must wear contacts to correct this condition - hard ones, at that.

Which means that I can only wear them for a short period of time and the time is dedicated to driving (unless you'd like to head down the I-25 corridor sometime and take your chances.)

crying Everyone else in my family wears glasses. My wife wears glasses. I always wanted to wear glasses! But I can only wear contacts and I HATE THEM! evil Not soft contacts, not keen colored contacts, Hard Gas Permeable Contacts! Someone-sliced-the-bottom-off-a-little-tiny-coke-bottle-and-jammed-them-in-your-eye contacts. scream

Pity for Harbone.

There, wasn't that nice?

I know those contacts are bad because I think I crushed one a reeeealy long time ago before I knew what they were. Oops. Please forgive me? crying

I forget to wear my glasses and sit here squinting at the keyboard. It's just far enough away so if I lean in a bit, I forget that I should just put on my glasses.
I was saying something about forgetting to put on my glasses, I think.

I don't notice anything new that I want to notice because I'm waiting for the tiny version of me in the right hand corner to grow up.

Also, I feel like sharing a link someone gave me:
http://graphics.gaiaonline.com/images/towns/001/towns.swf
It's a way to sneak into towns when the towns aren't working. It works most of the time.
I changed the name of my town to STUPIDVILLE! Wah-ha-ha-ha! And Harbone lives there too! whee

Oh, I just noticed that those squares at the top now have a kind of drop down menu and it works pretty well. That's nice.

Well...it was working earlier today. Oh well.
