Scrambling over the top of the cliff, Ripley breathed a sigh of relief. He had made it up without finding another surprise. Sure, it had taken a bit of time...and his legs and arms were aching by now...but he had done it. Half way through this course...his last run.
Up next, the swing across the gator pit. Gators....not his favorite, he remembered. Still...he'd had more successful swings than not. And there was the fact he was still alive. And he was almost finished with the challenge!

The self pep talk was much easier this time. This was the last time he would have to face this gator pit. (He hoped.) With the end in sight, Ripley gathered his courage and reached for the rope. He would make sure his grip was solid. He would make sure it stayed that way.
Ripley, mentally prepared for the swing across, tried for (hopefully) his last leap across the gator pit.

When Ripley landed safely on the other side, he was grinning. He had done it!! He had made it past the gators again! He turned to look at them...which was not the best idea. A shudder traveled through the audio at seeing the snapping lizards in the pond. Hopefully, he wouldn't dream about them tonight. He had conquered the swinging challenge in which they were involved, after all. That was like beating them.

He turned his attention away from the gators, and towards the log. The last obstacle. Then he would be finished. He could so do this.
He charge and run technique had worked before (except that one time when his foot slipped). So, that is what he decided to try again. With a snort of confidence (he was almost finished!) he started running towards the log. It was the only thing that stood between him and the end of this challenge.
PostPosted: Sat Aug 01, 2009 12:45 pm

He ran, as fast as his tired legs could make him go. His feet stayed on the log. He had almost forgotten about those sea gull guns....until a couple of the birds passed by, so fast they were almost not seen. He actually had to dodge one (pure luck), but he made it! He made it across the log!
He was finished! He had ran that course five times. FIVE. He wasn't sure how he did it, but he did do it.

Thoughts of the gators and falling fled his mind as happiness and pride filled it instead. Though, he was tired. Ripley headed back towards the beginning of the course to sit down and rest a bit. He wanted to watch the others run it...and sitting down seemed like a good idea. He was certainly tired....it was very possible that he would be sore in the morning, too. But he wasn't too concerned about that.
No, as he sat down, his thoughts turned towards dinner. What would 'Master Chief' decided to feed them after this harrowing challenge?

Noel felt rested enough , ready for another shot. He was going to hate him self for this later. Noel already did one round and now to do another? Was he nuts?

Admittedly, yes, Noel was a little crazy. Anyone who spent five minutes with the guy could tell that.

Back at the beginning of the course Noel let out a drawn out sigh before getting on his belly and starting to crawl through the wires yet again. It wasn't so bad the second time but it still sucked.

Noel felt his jacket get caught in one of the barbs and tried to wiggle free but it just was not going to happen for the mod. Noel would have flailed at this moment but he didn't want to get even more stuck. There was only one thing to do, go backwards.

He backed all the way out of the course, leaving his jacket behind, and started off in another entrance.

He really really did not want to be here right now. The mod needed to do this though for the good of the team. Damn....

This time the mud was to thick and to watery. The mod found him self stuck in the mud of the course. Gah! The first round had been flawless but this round seemed out to get him. Was this some sort of warning? Noel shook his head and tried to continue forward. This did him no good though, he was clearly stuck.

The boy closed his eyes and screamed for help. There was no way ANYONE could get out of that gunk.

Before the mod knew it he was back at the beginning of the course. Did he really want to go through this AGAIN? Noel was in tears by this time. He really was shook about the whole thing.

Still, shaking, he got down on all fours and decided to give it another go. Glutton for punishment?

To Noels amazement, he made it out the third time alright. He was still sniffling though and shaking. Really the boy was a mess.

And now he had to climb the cliff again. Joy... Why was he doing this again?

With one shaking arm after another the boy started his way up the cliff, praying he'd not slip up. After all, his hands were covered in slippery mud at this point.

(( wire crawl ))

Lucifer scowled, standing with his arms crossed, he did NOT appreciate being woken up so early, though he supposed it was at least one morning he would not wake up with a certain fuzzy fanboy staring at him.

Oh, but upon seeing the challenge, how his expression change. Ah, now that was more like it, no stupid cliff diving, no stupid river cross, this...this looked like a war zone, he liked that. Heh heh, he wondered if there were any landmines buried in that course, and if so, what he'd have to do to get his paws on one. Ah, how he would have loved to see a nice explosion.

may as well get started...

Noel had made it safely up the cliff. His tears had stopped and his hands seemed to be alot less muddy after all that climbing. Still, the boy was shaking. The fact that he knew crocodiles where up ahead was not helping.

Noel made sure he had a firm grip on his vine and made sure to close his eyes like he'd done before as he kicked off. The idea of spending some more time in a Crocs mouth did not appeal to him.

She sighed, wasn't there child labor laws against stuff like this? This challenge was insane! I mean, just look at it! With a sigh, she looked at the course, thinking that this was like the beginning of a video game every one hates because it's so goddamn hard that you can almost never beat it.

Throwing herself on the ground, Helen began the struggle across the wire, her body pressed as low as it would go. she winced every time she heard something fly by over them, and there were a few close calls with the items landing right next to her, Helen miraculously managed to make it to the other side with no problems, except completely ruining her clothes.

Doing a brief victory dance, Helen set off for the next form of torture the lovely Chef had prepared for them.

(( cliff climb ))

He had made it through the wire, somehow avoiding being scratched or tearing his clothes on the wire, not that he would have really thought much of it if he had. And not a single landmine, heh, that was disappointing.

He was on his paws again, eyes narrowed as he looked at the cliff. Climbing a cliff, there was no way it was that simple. Heh heh, so that's where the mines were hidden.

(( gator pit ))

Two obstacles down (heh, the cliff hadn't been so bad), he was halfway through. And then...

Lucifer stopped in his tracks, ears laying back as he approached the next challenge. Alligators, whatever, if he wasn't afraid of sharks he sure as hell wasn't afraid of them. Pond, water, he HATED water. GOD DAMN IT! WHY THE HELL COULDN'T THEY COME UP WITH A CHALLENGE THAT DIDN"T INVOLVE WATER?! Where the hell was his -fire- challenge?

Whatever...

Two flawless courses done in his second round.. but he figured the two failures at the first course canceled those out. Great, he stood in front of the last challenge. The log.

Taking one step on the log after another Noel seemed to be doing okay. He just prayed he didn't fall through into the beaver trap below. Oh god. Or fall off or something... Noel closed his eyes.

(( beaver balance - fail ))

Deep breath, paws had landed safely on the other side, god how he hated water. At least this time he had avoided going for a swim.

Now he stood at the last challenge, eyes narrowed, tail twitching, searching for a pattern, or at least an opening to make his move. Sea gull gun huh, he wondered how well that would fire something else, like maybe squirrels.

A moment longer, it was as good a chance as he was going to get, time to go.
