Denomination: I'm not quite sure what this means... redface

What drew you to this guild? A friend of mine, Robert (rmcdra) invited me to be apart of this guild.

Influential quote: How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tiding, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God Reigns!" - Isaiah 52:7

I'm a friendly person and easy to talk to and would love to make some friend here as well as learn more about the guild.
Welcome Hinata

Nya! RM! I'm happy to see you again. As you can tell I'm much happier. I think this vacation is just what I needed...Anyway, I don't know what Denomination I should be in as a Christian. sad Can you help me?

Denomination: Roman Catholic

I was invited after a crew member saw me post in the ED about how the Bible can have its mistakes since God Himself didn't write it, but his followers, and no matter how good His followers may be, they are still human and capable of making mistakes, recalling a story incorrectly and such. I'm also tired of having to associate myself with Christians who are against homosexuality, think the whole world should be Christian, etc.
Influential quote:
"I like your Christ, but I dislike your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ" --Ghandi
I think that quote can easily be applied to any era of Christians who lived generations after JC.

Denomination is what part of Christianity do you follow? Baptists, Gnostic, Later day saints... etc... Ether way, Welcome. I hope you have fun while you are here. smile

I figured...I don't know! D: That's what always worried me. Does that mean I'm not s true Christian or that I just need to learn more?
Not in the slightest, Denominations just means you hold different things higher than the others. Like one holds freedom of choice higher, where another holds the baptizing higher. Or hold saints higher... It is just a formality at most any way. Like calling a guy mister, lady misses... Doctor Jones... Does it change the person for who they are... no, just gives insight to their own person. razz

In the past I got criticism like that but it was just silly comments in high school. I do belief in God just maybe not so much in-depth and should practice and go to church more and everything else.

I would say, Baptist or Non-denomination... but, that is strictly between you and God. Where ever you feel at peace, is your denomination.

Personally, I was raised a baptist, until recently went to a pentecostal church, and yet follow my own path in understanding the bible. Which would label me as a Non-denomination. to me a church by definition is more of a group setting, in which minds of all walks of life, and understanding, come together to share their understandings of the works of God. There is no wrong, and no right. Sadly, modern churches have you listen to one person's definition of the Bible and your denied a mind of your own.

My mother was pentecostal growing up but never really was strict when she had me years ago. I mean I'd like to think God has a sense of humor. ^^; If that's not too crude...

for one we agree. Though, in the same sense, that is the argument of many atheists and the like, use against us.

Eh? Well, yes I'm sure they do/have used that concept but honestly for the atheist who truly are irritated by religion or just believes in general, that comment should be something nice to hear. I never understood why people can be so harsh or vicious when discussing religion of any kind period. I mean, rather than have no faith and seeming to be a bit pessimist about people ir life why not take a change and put faith into something like God? I mean no one can take God away from you right? ^_^

The people of the pentecostal church, I went to, believed no one, not Satan, Budda, the lost puppy, or anyone; could take God's gift away from you... But, you could refuse it, or walk away from it. Even after you prayed for redemption and salvation, you can still walk away from those two gifts. Like a kid walks away from his christmas toy to go somewhere else. And it is that reason that Satan, puts so much "hell" into our lives. So we can turn away from the gifts.

Personally, I have yet to find that in the Bible, so I am a bit sceptical

I'd like to think that God has a sense of humor too. I mean just look at a wild banana, the seeds in that thing will break your teeth XD. But anyway, we're pretty liberal here meaning that we encourage asking of questions and some of us may have some "unorthodox" views, so you won't be seeing the "True Christian" arguments in here. We're not about that. Not everyone in this guild is Christian but they are welcome to post in this guild. The main rules I have for this guild is, don't be a d**k to other members, don't advertise without permission, and don't treat this guild like CB with all the chat-speak.

Welcome Sheila. Doesn't change too much but the whole quote is "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ. The materialism of affluent Christian countries appears to contradict the claims of Jesus Christ that says it's not possible to worship both Mammon and God at the same time."

I can help you find a denomination that mostly fits your views if you want. I wouldn't worry about it too much though, the important part is finding a community of believers you feel comfortable around. I have that added for kind of a quick reference of what doctrines one believes.

No, no! Of course not. I mean with that said, I think sometimes Christians may get so caught up into what we have to do and what God is really saying that we are lead astray. The last thing He wants is for us to be fighing and arguing amongst ourselves over anything let alone Him. sad Does that make sense? ><;

That's true...and it's kinda sad but to each his own I suppose. Can make someone else DO something they don't want to do. It's when a person accepts God's gift or any gift for that matter that things will get better^^

(I'm so nervous I'm not making sense I really haven't talked religiously in a long time.)
