"Hm, you close to him, I guess?" She asked casually as her smile was but a soft suggestion on her face. Her eyes searched his face--it was handsome. His blonde hair reminded her of the yellow of the sun, rather than the bleached white beaches like her hair reminded her, and his eyes were a blue like the sky or a hot burning flame. He was nervous, she could tell, and it made her smile curve her lips more. She spared him, though, and looked into the fire. "I never had a sibling..."

Mike was almost thankful she looked away. He blinked a couple times, then widened them. 'Bad thoughts, bad thoughts, bad thoughts, bad thoughts...' "Y-yeah, I am," He said, rubbing his eyes. "He's my best friend... I miss him a lot. Kinda sucks." It did suck. He hated and loved missing his brother. Mike fiddled with his brother's dog tags, looking at the name imprinted in one of them. 'Jake Widtsoe' "Youre an only child then, Leith?" Mike asked, looking at her looking into the fire.

"Yeah." She said simply, a flash of that terrible night flashing over her again. She heard her mother's screams like a far off echo and she squeezed her eyes shut, taking in a deep breath. "I live with my aunt who is single and unable to bear children...No chance at anything close to a sibling." She pulled her knees clsoer to her chest and put her arms through the sleeves of the jecket, wrapping them around her. She wasn't really cold, but she needed that embrace.
((night....it's too late....my brain is audibly sizzling.))

[[Im slowly dying as well xD; Last post for tonight loves~]] "I see," Mike said. He wasnt sure how to reply, but he ended up saying, "I guess its too bad, unless you like being an only child." He watched her curl up next to the fire. Mike felt it wasn't his place to touch her, so he just sat next to her, trying not to look into her eyes again, cause he knew if he did, he'd drown this time. Instead, he looked to the harbor, waiting to see Warakai and Lucien come this way. Mike half wished they would, but half wished they wouldnt. 'What kinda guy wouldnt want to be alone with a beautiful girl?'

Warakai sat watching the spheres as the fire ate through the thick paper it was about four minutes when it started to happen, the fire reached the thermite and there was a crack and a spark. "Time to go, we don't want to be in here when that stuff reaches its top temperature it cuts through steel in seconds" Warakai said standing.

"I have no other choice, really, so I guess I better suck it up if I don't." She smiled and was quiet again. After a moment of silence beyond the crackling of the fire, roaring of the waves, and the slapping of water against the boat, Leith turned to Mike again--her eyes staring at him. "Show me your flames again. I want to see how you do it." Sure, she could control water, but it was amazing to think that he could manipulate fire. Summon it from within him. It was amazing, and more powerful than her own ability. It was frightening and that's what she loved about it. ((Sleepy heads! >.<))

"you're going to be disappointed they don't explode they burn they melt" he said watching as more sparks flew out of the spheres, "whatever I am not sticking around to wait for that to happen" he said leaving in a bit of a hurry.

Lucien smirked. "I never told him that there was nitroglycerin in the furnace..." He took a nap against the wall. It would be a few minutes until the liquid in the furnace made contact with the spheres.

"Hmm," was all that Mike said. For a while, the two were silent. Mike tired his hardest to focus on his fire, or the waves, or the sand, or the sky. But none of it was as interesting as the Elemental next to him. "Show me your flames again," Leith said, almost startling him. "I want to see how you do it." Mike arched an eyebrow, a smile creeping across his face. "Sure!" He grinned from ear to ear like a kid in a toy store. Sometimes it was tiring bottling up his inner fire. Now he got to entertain. Mike jumped up, hyped and ready to burn stuff.
He wasn't exactly sure how he did anything Elemental-like. All he knew was that there had to be some sort of heat source before he could do anything at all. He had plenty of heat: He had a fire and his body. He could easily create friction if there wasn't much heat, which was convenient. But what to do to impress Leith?
"Hmm, let's see..." Mike thought for a moment, stroking his chin. Jabbing his hand into his pocket, he pulled out a small piece of jerky from its bag, and popped a piece in his mouth. Immediately, he grabbed his throat with both hands, as if he were choking, teetering and tottering in the sand. Then he spat it out, along with a cloud of fire. The jerky landed in the sand, smoldering. "Phoooo-eeeey! Remind me not to buy spicy jerky agai,n please," Mike coughed, smaller clouds of flame igniting from his throat. Scratching his head, he muttered, "Yeah, that was lame... sorry."

Leith was rolling on the sand, laughing hard. It was a free laughter and was almost musical. Her face turned red and she had to force herself to calm down before she passed out or wet herself. When she could, she asked, "What was that? A failed attempt to swallow a sword beef jerky style? Oh, that was funny! And you were smokin' like the Empire!" She laughed more, covering her face with the large sleeves on his leather jacket as she laid on her back in the sand.

"That's exactly what it is," the fire Elemental smiled. Mike couldnt help but laugh a little himself. Laughter was too contagious. It felt good knowing he was at least a little funny. Or maybe Leith was just easily amused. Either way suited Mike. He thought about juggling flames or dribbling them like a ball, but decided that'd be too corny. He decided to experiment.
Plopping down next to Leith in the sand, Mike scooted close to the fire. Folding his legs, he put his hands on his knees and sucked the fire into his mouth and swallowed. His throat churned with the hotness of the flame, and the night was dark and empty once again. Mike stood and snapped his fingers. A small flame made itself known on his pointer finger. For fun, he passed the small flame from finger to finger. Then, sticking his foot in the smoldering campfire, Mike directed the flame to travel down his arm, his torso, his leg, and all the way down to his foot. Mike had to bury his toes deeper into the ash, but it eventually lit, and the campfire was alight again. Experiment finished.

Warakai crashed through the doors hacking through the few guards still lingering in the ship. His blade tore several large gouges in walls and doorways where the ark was to wide he didn't head for the door in through instead heading for the deck. Warakai leaped off falling toward the rolling waves piercing the water with minimal splash and darting like some strange looking fish towards his boat.

Leith clapped happily, "Wonderfully excecuted! Bravo!" She wanted to show off too, but when she looked out to the waters she ached just trying to listen to the ocean talk to her. "So, how long have you known you could control fire?" Leith asked with a smile, the fire light dancing on her face and glinting off her eyes.

Mike did a little bow, pleased at himself. "So, how long have you known you could control fire?" Leith asked him. Mike frowned a little. He didn't actually remember. He knew he discovered his ability, or curse, when he had left home. But when he did discover it, he was scared to death, but grateful for it, since it had saved his life. "I'm not sure, but it was after I set out and walked the streets," Mike said.
But... what if he had his powers this whole time? If he was an Elemental, his powers were in his blood, that would mean he was born with it... Mike was a little unsettled. After his brother died, his parents seemed to die with them. They even divorced a few months after. Mike didn't even seem to exist. Or maybe... his parents didn't want him to exist...?
His thoughts were interrupted by a flash of movement coming this way. Mike looked, seeing it was Warakai, dashing across the water towards the site.
