Zia nodded, following Crux. The proto could ask it to go to the ends of the earth, and Zia would gladly traipse after it. "Might be good to locate Faolan and Trystan, eh?"

Faolan turned away from the girl and her Essentic for a moment, ears going at attention, and scanned the room for his wife. Tilting his head a bit, he frowned and looked down at Lee. "Have you seen Ellandra yet? She was supposed to come back from her meeting with Banning soon."

__( location ) ballroom.

Watching the girl with a speculated interest, Trystan wondered half heartedly if he'd already gotten off on the wrong foot with her. Not that it would have been such a big loss in the long run, he hardly even knew what she was here for. On top of that, she had been on the floor of all places. Strange woman, right? Trystan watched her get up with some amusement. What would become of this, he wondered. From the look of things, Mei seemed to be someone who wasn't used to the lifestyles of the Upper District, not in the way that she walked or talked, oh no, but in the way that she didn't seem entirely comfortable with that dress, and that she'd tripped over it within the first few minutes of her appearance. Strangely enough, Trystan didn't seem to mind as he glanced her over. It seemed that she was also an owner, the man would have guessed, judging by the menacing looking dragon hovering behind her. That should have been a bit terrifying on any normal level, but the Proto looked hardly as menacing to Trystan.

Yes, Banning was popular. But only to a select few, or so it would seem. Trystan did want to know more about the man who'd brought Essentics back, and more importantly, why. Information was precious to him, and not knowing only dragged him further and further into slight aggravation. On top of that, he was curious as to the people the Duke associated himself with - and this woman perked his interest in quite a strange way.
"Funny? I would find it amusing, if not a bit normal. Anyone who is associated with a man who has brought back an extinct species has to be looked at with some degree of interest." Trystan said, smiling a bit. "A business relation." He hummed, nodding. "I see, an owner then?" He inquired loftily, indicating towards the draconic Proto that was now floating away. His black eyes flashed a bit. "Curious, and curiouser, or so they say." Trystan said in a hum, trying not to feel too impatient. Something told him that Mei was different then other owners. Something, but what?

Verdant shrugged and led Ellandra around, not really sure where they were going. He came across a door and opened it; he didn't remember going through any doors, but he wasn't really paying attention in the first place. Of course, the door did not lead to the ballroom. Instead, it led to a large room filled with what had to be romance novels.

"Oh my God, he's got Wuthering Heights and Mansfield Park! They are some of my favorite books of all time!" The nymph ran over to the bookcase and began perusing the many titles; hoepfully, Ellandra wouldn't midn too much if they rested a bit in here.

[Location: Off Limits Area ((Banning))]

"Hey, you two. Miss Sanders, mister Lindstrom, excuse the interruption..." A voice called inside. The Duke himself no less, peeking in by the door with a rather curious expression. Now now, this eager to err around? "You're not supposed to be here kids, how about I take you back to the open area before you get in trouble with security?" For once he was ditching his usual overly polite manner. Heck, this was his home, was easily twice their age, and he wouldn't bite their noses off...

Tsk tsk... he'd been right when he decided to take a quick tour in the off-limits area, before any of his guests ended up straying where they shouldn't go. Oh well, Jonathan must've been delayed, word of an exploded soup bowl in the kitchen had reached him by now. Part of life to him, unexpected disasters like that. His staff dealt with it as with any unforeseen trouble, keeping it nice and contained. The fact these two were here wasn't any big concern yet.

"There's another library in the right wing, if you're that interested. Now if you'd be so kind to follow me back to the others..." Don't make a fuss now? Just come with me and eeeverything will be just dandy. All in all it wasn't that far, if you found a five-minute walk nothing odd in a house. Soon enough they were back at the Entrance, now informed indepth on where to find the second library, room VII to be exact.
Located right beside room V, the music room. How convenient.

[Location: Entrance Hall - dawdling around ((Misha))]

'ttah, leaving Ziazan and Crux to their devices -they sure seemed to know how to entertain themselves-, Misha had started loping around the Entrance hall again. So many people here suddenly, some he'd seen before, others who were complete strangers.

By now, five of them had been called away, including that man with the strange girl, and oh, look, Eli as well! Another female ... female... well, human she was, but Misha couldn't quite put his finger on what was strange about her, too, a most chipper guy he would have surely remembered if he'd seen him before, and Ellandra as well. He'd almost bounded over to wish her luck, but he left it at a silent smile towards her when she left.

They'd all be back soon enough, and indeed, it didn't take them long at all to finish their business. Boy, the boss sure was efficient. Only now did he truly realise these five people had just become owners as well.

Five more siblings... how mind-boggling. He hadn't even met the first five yet! Crux and Ziazan seemed to be doing well enough, and he sure was relieved about that. Lauss, miss Lee's tutor, was ever busy, Aoi seemed to be well at ease with mister Verdant as well. Only Aria wasn't here, yet?, but he knew he didn't have to worry too much about her. Her owner was a very good man, and little miss Sera would surely love her.

...five... more... siblings. Oh dear, oh dear. The bunny really didn't know whether to be intimidated or burst with joy. It only now occurred to him this arrangement meant that Ziazan would have an Essentic companion in it household later, too. Wow... he wondered how that'd play out.

~

Lost in his reverie, Misha stayed on the sidelines a little, a bit exhausted from the rush of emotions and the intricate socialising with Zia and Crux earlier. He'd love to talk to Aoi sometime, but he didn't want to intrude, and he had to keep an eye on everyone else as well.

Oh hey, when had Longway decided to crash the party? Na, she seemed to be having 'fun' tackling that odd guy there, at least until that other woman approached them, and now mother was here, too! hah.. he almost felt a bit sorry for her. If Timka was wary of playing dressup already, he couldn't begin to imagine how miss Lecter struggled with it. At least he was aware he wasn't supposed to tell people about what Mei meant for the little business, so he'd do his best not to blow her cover. She wanted to know more about his brethren, just like himself, but Longway'd told him to let her do hr own research.
'You're not a scientist kid, you'd ask the wrong questions'.
Aha, so any information he gathered would be wrong? Not important? After that he'd given up on the idea of helping her out. TSH, why'd he spy on his brothers and sisters anyway.

Na, Kyru was making a mess again, tsk. Maybe he'd go and tease him, but maybe now wasn't the time to instigate a wild chase through the manor. As long as Kyru behaved, he'd leave him be.

"Interesting indeed. Believe me, you don't know half of it. I guess I don't either." Dear man, nobody knows Banning even close to 'well'. Doubt he even knows himself.

"... and you're making a good choice there." Oh yes. Do NOT make a mess in front of or even in the broad vicinity of Timka. It as hard to say if she sounded vicious or very, very amused now. Hisss~ "I see you're aware we're dealing with volatile matter here, and we'd be rather displeased should anything disrupt our cause." Whatever that cause was, that is. She just went along with it, as long as there were no consequences.

"Lynd you say? Oh that guy. Yeah, I do reme-"
mber a few details on him, and she'd have finished her sentence, and gone deeper into the 'not needing one any longer'-matter, had they not been surreptitiously interrrupted by Dreamer.

"Miss Eversong." : |

Why hello there, nice to meet you and all. New owner and all that, hey hey... joy.. "Yes, I know who you are, miss. nah, not interrupting anything important, just picking out party crashers, the usual. Timka Longway's my name, EBI shop staff. A pleasure to meet you in person at last." yadda yadda, let's get this over with then? Boy, did she ever not prefer taller women. Still, she held out her hand politely to round down introductions with the banshee. At least now she knew the guy's real name. However real it could be with someone who had no problems lying...

"You two know each other?" Bluntness, in your face. "Err... we were about to go and scavenge us something to snack on, would you like to join us?"

blushing heavily from getting lost in the off-limits area of the mansion, Ellandra slipped around the entrance hall, looking for a familiar face - she suspected Verdant would be wanting to explore the library Banning had pointed out to them, and wasn't so interested in perusing the books herself, so had said her temporary goodbyes and left him to his own devices. Right now she wanted to find her husband and show him the little box she held, so that he'd know there would be another member jining their family sooner than the expected baby.

However, she was sidetracked by seeing a certain bunny-eared alter, slightly out of the way of everyone. She hadn't gotten a chance to see Misha yet, let alone talk to him, so the brunette made her way through the room (my goodness it took so long just to cross a single room in this place), and suddenly very conscious of the fact that she'd left her shoes behind in the left wing. Oh well, you couldn't see her feet past her skirt anyway.

"Misha!" She called out, clutching her little box to her so she wouldn't drop it - wouldn't want the little one to be lost before it even emerged, after all - as she neared the bun-bun's position. "Oh, Misha, I hadn't gotten to say hello to you," she said a bit breathlessly, finally reaching him through the chaos that was a fancy party.

The duo nodded wholeheartedly at the prospect of a guest at the Nursery. Elst was first to speak up, however. “Oh, we’d be glad to have you over sometime, right Aoi?” The flower nodded. “If I manage to find something to write on, I’ll give you my phone number. That way, you can call whenever there’s a time you can stop by. And, if Aoi doesn’t mind, he can show you one of his dances while you’re there.” Aoi nodded again.

Yeah, I’d love to show you one of my dances, I’ve been getting better, I think. Rain isn’t the only thing I can bring up now. Despite his lack of a mouth, Aoi's tone seemed to have a slight hint of a smile to it.

Shade nodded enthusiatically. "Alright!" Now if only he had a piece of paper and a pen...unfortunately, he didn't. He wasn't sure if anyone else here would either. "We...could use a napkin to write on..." Now for the pen. Where would they get one though?

The impling looked back down to Aoi, tilting his head as the essentic stated that he could make other things with his dances. "Like what?" It was amazing how Aoi seemed to be able to make the weather change like that. It must've really come in handy at the nursery!

Thinking for a moment, Elst gave up on the phone number, at least for the time being. “Yes, a napkin would work, but I still need a pencil or something. I usually carry one with me, but I’m not wearing my usual jacket, unfortunately enough.”

Aoi was quiet for a second, thinking. Well, I can bring up a bunch of plants at once, make them all bloom. And…lemme think…I can make them change colors, too. Indeed this all came in handy; Aoi was a floramancer after all.

Elst looked around a bit. “Say, want to head over to the gardens for a little bit? They seemed majestic from what I saw of them, and I’d like to see more.”

"You don't know either?" Kaosu repeated incredulously, cocking a brow. She was one of his employees, was she not? "I take it he's not exactly a sociable guy, then." Oh, that would be a pain. The red head had trouble with people who had trouble with people. Those encounters usually ended with someone growing furious. And since Kao was almost impossible to piss off...

""Volatile matter"? Your "cause"? So what exactly is Essential Biotic Inc's cause, hm? Reviving a dead species for fun? For profit?" This Longway character was no Banning but she might be able to answer some of his questions anyways. Or at least confirm some of his suspicions.

Done with his mini-interrogation, he noticed Trystan looping arms with a strange man and sending a defiant look his way. The gesture send a spark through his system, and he almost felt a pang of jealousy. Almost. Granted, the kid had a right to be annoyed with him -Kao HAD randomly left his apartment for about a week to prepare for this silly party- but the indifferent, cheating act was immature. Luckily, the imposter was also immature. Two could play at that game.

Pointedly turning away until his partner left the room, he greeted Dreamer more cheerfully than usual. "Hello hello, D," he purred. Funny, meeting both of his landlords in the same place on the same night. "As the lady said, I'm just here for the free food. You're not interrupting much." Noticing the spark in her clutches, he frowned, "So you're one of the new owners I've been hearing about."

Quickly remembering to hide his disdain for the creatures, he pretended to be curious, "What type is it? Combat?" He snorted. Like that energetic girl needed a bodyguard.

No sooner had the young-ish Essentic decided to maybe go and steal some foodstuffs -he hadn't gotten the chance to see if there was any regular hardcandy hidden in the dessert buffet yet-, when he was called out to. Immediately he lived up from that slouched posture, straightened up and let her know he'd heard and seen her.

”Miss Ellandra!” Ella-sis! Goodness, she did look ravishing like that, no longer restricted by that awkward footwear. He'd observed her before, but had left her to her own devices, so close to Faolan who provided her a rock to cling to in this busy place. Good girl, don't let them get you down eh.

The last few steps Misha came forward to meet her, smiling brightly, almost proudly, even. He was well aware of how tough it must have been so far to stay calm in an environment like this, and she'd gone to see the boss all by herself no less! At least, he didn't think she'd known any of the other four from before. And now here she was, already caring so much about that little condensed presence in her arms, a warm resonance he couldn't ignore even if it were miles away.

”I noticed.” Cheeky grin to a rethoric response. ”Na, how's the party going for you? Ho... how did it go?” For a moment he nearly tripped over his own tongue, so excited he wasn't sure what to talk about first. Right now, her recent owner-dom seemed to be an acceptable opening. Maybe he'd be able to stop glancing at the little chest once he got that off his mind.

Verdant, quite embarrassed for being found in a part of the Off Limits Area; he really should've paid more attention to where he was going. At least the duke didn't seem as pissed as he thought he would- his one reprieve. Now at the Entrance Hall, he departed from Ellandra, who had gone off to talk to Misha, who Verdant now assumed had to be an Essentic. He decided he'd go and see if Elst and Shade were still at the buffet table; he was still kind of hungry and he hated being hungry because then he'd start rambling and going on and on and on about the most ridiculous things and always ended up annoying at least one person, but sometimes he annoyed three or four people, but that was rare; seriously, when would he ever talk to so many people at once? Come on now, it's not like Verdant was a social butterfly or anything and besides-

Oh gods, he was doing it already! He needed to get to the food- and fast.

Shade's ears twitched as Aoi told him a few other things that he was able to do. Essentics were certainly interesting - and Aoi had so many talents! The only thing the impling was good at was playing video games, and that didn't amount for much in the 'real world' as his mother put it. Better to be good at that than nothing at all though...

The boy blinked as Elst asked if he wanted to go over to the gardens and nodded a bit. "Sure...why not?" His ears flicked suddenly and he glanced over, catching sight of Verdant coming towards the table. "Looks like Verdant's back..." He looked back up to Elst, smiling. "Maybe we should ask if he'd like to come too..."

Species? "Although they seem as though they're living in every way, I don't really know if I consider them an extinct species. A species has its own classifications and its own distinct traits. If you look at the Essentics, they're hardier similar to each other asides from what they are created from. They'd probably make up their own Kingdom they were recorded in the books," Mei pondered a bit more. Any textbooks that may have information on Essentics had been heavily censored or burned. Funny how things that she had been interested in since forever could be easily discussed so openly when she would have died horribly a few years back if she stayed in the normal society.

Her mind went blank, "Erm...you can tell from all the different Essentics here. I've always found it kind of hard to picture him as a relative of Misha." A slight nervous giggle escaped Mei. "Well, I think I'll go get something to eat and drink. The food looks rather delicious." She said as she watched Kyru pick a chocolate truffle between his claws and put it gently in his mouth. That little guy really knew how to enjoy himself. He was probably going to complain about stomach problems later; afterall, he always does.
