She nodded as she closed the door behind her before turning back to Amora, "Yes, though not as much snow as the Borderlands or so I hear. I've never spent a winter there before, but I'm told I would be stuck there for a while if I went right in winter."

She had been there before winter hit full blast but never stayed long enough.

Amora blinked. "That much snow?" she questioned, moving towards an intricately carved wardrobe. "Impressive ... I've never heard of that much in one place before."

She pulled out a few tops and pants and laid them out on the bed. "I think we're close to the same size," she murmured, looking Lin up and down. "Try it on."

Picking up the clothes, Lin nodded getting her foxy fluttering friends off of her, they had behaved during lunch but she was sure they weren't going to like it out there.

"Give me a moment," she murmured ducking somewhere to get changed.

Belatedly Lin realized that Amora should be taller than her... right?

Amora ushered Lin over to her dressing screen in the corner of the room. "Let me know how they fit, all right?" she asked brightly. Then she headed over to sit on the bed and wait.

Fourteen she might be, and very close to being an adult, but Amora had the short genes of her grandfather and she was barely taller than Lin, if at all.

Lin folded her own clothes before putting on the new ones. They actually fit quite well, which she supposed wasn't so surprising. She looked down at herself smoothing it out a bit before peeking around the screen.

"They fit very well, thank you," she told Amora before stepping out, "Normally when I borrow clothes they need to get hemmed, but then again Tinuviel hasn't been my size in ages."

Amora blushed faintly. "Mother says I'm not likely to grow much more," she said softly. "Even though she and Father are both quite tall ... but I seem to take after Grandfather in stature. Perhaps not to the same degree, but ..."

She smiled widely when she saw how her clothes fit on Lin. "They look almost as if they were made for you instead of me," she laughed. "They're perfect for you! Come, let's find you a cloak ... though I suppose I shouldn't really call it a cloak, that's not quite accurate ..."

She went to her wardrobe and pulled out a sash-like hood, then went back to Lin and draped it loosely over her head, letting the ends hang down behind her. "There. What do you think?"

It reminded Lin of a shawl, as she looked at herself. It was kind of neat actually, good for when you needed to cover your head but needed something light, and way better than a hat.

"Actually this is nice," Lin grinned putting her hand on top of her head.

Some of her pets, seeing that she was done tried to land on her again, but Lin told them plainly that they probably wouldn't like being out there. They were butterflies after all (sort of).

Amora giggled, watching the butterflies.

"They do what you tell them to, don't they?" she asked softly, returning to the wardrobe for a sash of her own. "The butterflies, I mean. You talk to them. And they listen to you."

She pulled her sash over her head, then smoothed out her skirt. "That is quite a gift."

Lin grinned, "Only these ones, I raised them so I guess that's why they listen, but normal butterflies... I'm still trying to convince them to leave me alone. They like to leave whatever voices they gather with me."

She wished she could, though she, since the butterflies came back, managed to get her four to become butterfly bodyguards, which seemed the be the only way to get them to leave her alone.

Amora smiled and moved to a bedside table, then opened a drawer and pulled out a small pouch.

"Well, we don't have many butterflies here," she murmured, "especially not at this time of the year. So I'm sure you'll be able to enjoy your time in the city."

Now they just had to find Sir Gilead.

"I'm sure it'll be fine," Lin agreed.

Though more for the fact she learned to tune them out, it was like listening and not listening, she now understood how her mother handled Nina. Besides listening to them were at times like eavesdropping and that was rude.

"So where do we go from here?"

She didn't know where to find Sir Gilead or anyone for that matter.

"This way," Amora nodded, heading out the door and turning right down the corridor. "There's a room just down here where the castle guards can spend their time off-duty, if they like. He's usually in there, gambling with a few of the others."

She tied the pouch to her waist and hurried down the corridor.

"Gambling?" Lin blinked as she followed Amora down the hallway, "Bets?"

She knew of bets of course, everyone in the family did it, but it was about life and it always stayed within the family. It was kind of embarrassing especially when you were the topic of the bet. At least it was never over if it would happen or not, but when.

Her family was very optimistic like that.

"Cards, dice, matches ... I don't know how much they bet, nothing substantial or anything, they would be dismissed if it was."

Amora spoke as if it were all just an everyday thing, and there was a faint smile on her face.

"It's just something to pass the time, since, well, they don't have all that much to do besides their guard duties."

It was a good point, there probably wasn't much to do between shifts. She wondered what Haven fighters between shifts. Besides sleep that was...

"Hmm.. interesting..."

She wondered if they had any interesting hobbies.
