Err yeah.. I was typing this and tried to hit send yesterday morning, and then comcast went down for my neighborhood for the rest of the day! scream So I saved what I had typed, and here it is! fawN yesterday Poppetta you can still pick up persistent pukers and drop them in lakes though twisted rofl Oooh I want to try that! *squints at her cds* Oh, the one I have is Sim Theme Park, and I remember I sometimes liked to trap the kids after they'd come off a coaster so they couldn't leave, and they'd just walk around puking and dropping trash, and that would make others puke too. rofl There are so many games I used to love, like the original warcraft, starcraft, age of empires (and II), and unreal tournament that I'd like to play again. In fact the last couple of weeks I've been playing starcraft again because Jason's been watching his Transformers season 1 dvds, and one of the voices reminded me of starcraft. I don't even think I've reinstalled the sims 1 game or exp packs since I've had this computer, and that's a lonnnnggg time! So while my internet was down all day, guess what I did? blaugh Played Sim Theme Park all day and built two really successful theme parks that made 200k and 100k in profit respectively! 4laugh

i'm going to have to get RCT2, it was what i'd asked for the christmas before last, i was pleased to get the 3rd game instead, but i still really want to 2nd one as it's easier to play!
i can see now why Michael Jackson had all those computers with a different game loaded onto each! rolleyes
and isn't it great how much you enjoy playing a game when you go back to it after a long break? but then of course you play it to death until you're sick of it again lol

Sorry I haven't been here all week.. but ya know I got Sims2 Open for Business for Mother's Day... ninja
I see it's going to take me a while just to catch up on posts and save new avatars and see about these fabulous angel wings Poppy seems to be wearing! eek
Open for Business is actually more fun than I anticipated, and I've only tried a few businesses so far and haven't experienced all the possibilities. I tried a very small business in the business neighborhood and hired a few people to help me restock, be cashier, and push sales on customers. LOL. They/you gain experience the more they do it, reflected by earning a bronze, silver, or gold badge for that skill.
The downside of the business in the other neighborhood is that my business owner has his needs go way down and he had to go home (which takes a long time to load between neighborhoods), so I built extra rooms for restrooms and a small kitchen/break room, but he still tired out and wanted to go to sleep pretty quickly, so I tried making a home business instead. (I'm not sure if some of the bigger/more expensive business locales have other rooms to meet workers' needs or not. I should check.)
So, the home business was cool and people come in your house and you can toggle an open/closed sign for when they come/leave. But I kept having everyone who came go upstairs to the kitchen first! Which was annoying, so I used a new feature where you can lock a door and only allow certain people.
I tried a home business with hired help, and then created a new 'gay hairdresser' who ran the business himself so he could up all his skills. Not many people wanted a makeover, and it's funny, if it doesn't let you choose the look, it creates these hideous makeovers that make the customers mad. The times you get to choose their look, they like it. He started a flower business too, making flower arrangements, and getting to create the more expensive varieties as he gained skill badges. Soon after getting a gold badge for flower arranging, he tried to fix the dishwasher and electrocuted himself to death though. cry Usually when they get electrocuted, their needs just go down and they walk around looking burnt for a while, but I think since his needs were already low, he died. I saved without quitting to fix that though. lol
The weird thing is that for some reason, his needs will often take a serious jump for the worse, and he'll suddenly be really tired and really hungry and he almost died 2 more times until I managed to get him to make food without falling asleep (although he kept falling asleep into his plate of food.) I don't know why that's happening, so maybe I'll look for some forums or something. He's not sick, I know that. Just all of a sudden several of his needs will just DROP like that. I thought it might be because his aspiration meter was in the red, but I fulfilled some of his wants and got him into the green and it was STILL happening, so I don't know.

A big bummer for me is that since the expansion installation, my do-all heal-all painting I downloaded no longer shows or works. I used to use it to immediately max out the needs and aspirations of everyone on the lot if I wished, which was handy when I was working on a skill all night or something. I really could have used that yesterday! I wondered what sorts of customized downloads were available for this expansion, especially mood fixers. whee

I hope you all don't mind me bumping this thread, but the new expansion pack "Pets" is out. Has anyone gotten it yet? Mine has been shipped and I'm waiting anxiously for it to get here. xd Since Sims 2 came out, I've been waiting for them to include pets in a ex pack.

Yay! I'll probably wind up with this exp pack too, as I have all the others, but I sometimes don't get them right when they come out. My little demo disk actually didn't have anything on the Pets pack other than a short blurb and a picture, which I could have gotten off the back of the box, plus some! The sample disk was really for people who had never experienced Sims 2 before, and it just included a version of Create-a-Sim (with limited options) and that's it.
I actually spent most of yesterday playing Open of Business, hence why I wasn't here.

Mine's gotten better, especially after my recent upgrades! Those do sound tempting.. I don't suppose those items are create-able at the work tables, so do you just buy them and mark them for sale like any other regular item?

I've got 2gbs of downloads myself and it seems like since OFB my load time has decreased a ton. I also split my DLs up, so all the bodyshop stuff (skins, hair, etc) is in Saved Sims...that also seemed to help alot. Well, my copy of Pets seems to be stuck in Ohio... cry It would be great if it made it here so I could play some this weekend when I know I'll have time.
