John turned to Emma.
"Don't kill your self now." He had caught the pace and the hard swallow of food not fully chewed. Listening to her ever excited speech.
"Ah so there is a new recruit 'round here. I'll sure have to introduce myself if I see him. Not really anythin' new with me though, just been turning out weapons for the Corps, some people just keep finding interesting ways to damage their weapons, and even more interesting as to how they loose their ID daggers. " John chuckled a bit.
"While we're on the subject, you be needing anythin' from the forge Emma?"

Emma sat pack and thought for a moment, realizing then that she had forgotten to get a drink. She sat back forward then, "Ah, I'm sure you'll see him soon. If not, Kimiko and Train and the rest of our medical groupies will. Like I said, he's with Matt. They'll fight eventually." Emma said sagely.

Emma's eyes lit up again, for the second time in realization. She leaned forward a little more then, reaching up and into the back of her top. "Actually, I think my tuck could use your particular touch." Emma stated as she drew the tuck, holding it in one hand to examine it. "Since I keep it surrounded by cloth and what not, whenever my armor heats up it warps it a little..." Emma trailed off as she stated her case. The tuck hardly had a sheath, mostly because she didn't have the time to un-clasp it and everything else if she needed it in a hurry. She looked up at John with a pleading look, "Would you please?" Emma was sure she explained the concept of her armor before, so she didn't feel the need to do it again. But her memory wasn't the greatest.

Malkin sighed at Emma's rather scary eating.
"Nice to meet you John. I've overheard your name on occassion when wandering. As for my weapons, I got them in a ruin when-," here he paused, a hard look coming into his eyes, his hands curling into fists, a trail of blood appearing. "I found them in my second home," he finished softly. Looking around he smiled softly. "Bad past. Anyways, Emma, what does your armor do?"

(( FYI Kiro will be just wasting time resting on the roof still. Sorry about inactivity. I would post but I have a lot of work and right now there doesn't seem like anything important is going on. ))

Matt led the way back into the Arena and up to the elevator. They stepped into the elevator and the crank man closed the gate and asked which floor they would like.

"Whichever floor has an empty ring." Matt replied.

"There are several that are empty that I can think of." One of the men said.

"Take us to the closest of those, Larry." Matt said.

Larry and his fellow crank man lifted the elevator only a few floors and stopped, locking the elevator in place and opening the gates for their passengers.

"Thanks, guys." Matt said and led the way out of the suspended box and into the 4th level of the Arena.

He walked across the spacious chamber, which had several walled rings. For all of his seeming impatience he oddly chose the ring that was furthest back. He walked in through an opening in the circular ten foot high wall of the ring and stood at one of two lines that were drawn several feet apart in the center of the ring.

"Alright, kid, let's get this show on the road." Matt said and assumed a wide fighting stance where he was standing.

((I felt that the crank men needed names, the other one is also Larry, but he goes by Lawrence.))

(Azure, if you want I can send Train your way.)

Isaac was getting more and more excited. His first sparring match with another hunter member that actually knew what they were doing. And since Isaac had a hidden gun, he figured he'd have a great advantage at some point. As he approached the line he was meant to he spun his halberd in his fingers, finishing in a wide lower stance with his arms close on his weapon. And since waiting for Matt to start would be absolutely boring, Isaac grinned. "I'll be able to give you reason to stop calling me kid now you know."

Isaac paused a second as his body prepared for the next plan of action. The initiative, of course. Within the distance of the lines at the center, Isaac would be able to reach Matt without stepping forward. Isaac took a step backward then, swinging his halberd in an upward diagonal that let him it bring it back down just as he hit his back step. The first was meant to cause some sort of action out of Matt, the second to stop him if he followed through quickly and was meant to be the real attack.

(Oh, and because I'm not actually sure if you know. A halberd differs from the usual type of polearms, rather than a stabbing weapon halberds of any kind are meant as cutting weapons. The one I picture for Isaac is a spiked top with basically an axe blade just below it.)

Blood, she could smell it. Emma had certainly noticed Malkin's hesitation, it was hard to miss. But she passed it off as if she hadn't, for his sake. "Well, my armor is special. It's been in the Baltiese family for a really long time, it's meant only for the women of our family. And by women, I mean the 'mother' or top of the family, who has always been a woman." Emma started with, using air quotes when she said mother. "Anyway, my armor regulates inner and outer temperatures, making sure that I don't get cold or that fire burns. Seriously, I could jump into a flaming pit and emerge in perfect health. This makes it better for changing climates, certain types of attacks, hell, even if I just want to be a little warmer. It's nice right?" Emma asked with a huge smile. She left out the part where she could kind of manipulate it so it could affect people that were within her reach. And the fact that it still worked if she took it off, like she had to give it to someone else, the effect would then work for them.

Malkin nodded thoughtfully.
"That must be rather useful. But then, I love wearing coats. And armor slows me down a bit too much. I'm rather skinny, so hits hurt a little more than normal, but, my blessing," he said with a snarl, "lets me heal quick and move fast. I've been working on a new skill that might let me dodge most attacks all together," he said quickly recovering his usual quiet face. Wiping his hands on a small cloth he tugged out of his bag, he picked up a few seeds eating them quickly so as to stain his hands.

"I can sure take care of that for you Emma." John took the tuck from Emma. Following Malkin in saying, "Nice to meet you." Then he intently listened to the two of them as they went back and forth speaking.
((Sorry for the short post with John, not feelin his character today.))

Aries stepped to the right of William's attack, enough where if the heel continued along the path it was on, it would miss him altogether. While he moved Aries brought his metal staff up in a strike against the same leg William was trying to attack him with. He would do this, by swinging it into the legs path, he hoped to catch it with his attack before William's body had made more than an 180 degree turn. Wanting to do this so he could hopefully hook the leg and set William off balance so he could hopefully get in advantageous attack.

((Sorry for the delay, creed-san.))

William, who was turned away when Sols staff intercepted his foot could not see or predict the counter and therefore fell for it. He felt his heel catch and realized what his opponent had done. He snapped his leg back the other way, shifting his weight rapidly as he did so. He brought his foot back down and swung his sword back up and around swinging it towards Sol from his right side, counterclockwise.

Emma smiled a nearly vicious smile. "When you're ready to test it, tell me." Emma not only wanted to see this technique, but any fight was something she wanted to be a part of. This blessing that Malkin kept mentioning however was only getting more and more interesting to Emma, and really, she couldn't wait until John left. She liked him, but she also didn't want to bring it up in front of him, not that Malkin hadn't done that enough already.

Emma stood up then, "I'll be right back. I forgot a drink." Emma said as she started skipping again. Back inside the service corridor, she plucked a bottle of mead from a rack and smiled at the people there. Sorry, I forget to get it!"

Train grumbled as he rolled around in his bed. He was tired, but he couldn't get comfortable. He yelled violently and tossed his pillow as he sat up. Why would nothing work for him today? He pulled on his armored jacket as he kicked open his door. The only place he could think to go was the roof. There was usually no one there, it was cool, quiet, and he liked the view. Though the height bothered him sometimes.

When he arrived, he started to grumble to himself again. Already he found Kiro. He slammed the door on his way over to the edge. He quickly looked over at Kiro and grunted, "Hey."

Malkin smiled at her invitation to duel.
"It'd be an interesting battle." he said laughing. "But the technique is far from perfect and I can't control it very well so I'm not able to hold back. And it's not a defensive move. My theory battle wise is if I can kill them faster than they can move then a defense is not necessary." He finished as she then got up. Eating more of his pomegranate seeds, he left himself drift into his thoughts.
((Not sure what to do here, lol.))

Throughout the day, various guards can be seen posting large pieces of parchment in the dormitories, the practice area, the mess hall, and other frequented areas. The parchments read thus...

"New teams have been formed as per the councils decision, and are as follows...

Emma, Gene, Mathias

Sol, Train, Enyo

Malkin, Leroy, Matthew

William, Kiro, Isaac

Those posted above are encouraged to meet with your team members and begin training to hone your teamwork skills. Assignments will be handed out as they become available and to best fit each teams strengths.

Good Hunting"

Gene Clancy stopped as he was about to enter the stables. His eyes moved, without moving his head(a habit he had picked up while on stealth missions), to look at a sheet of parchment that had been posted beside the doorway. It stated that four teams had been formed within the Corps.

He was in the first team. Along with Emma. Not his first choice of teammate. Far to excitable. Though she was good at slaying fiends. The third member of their team was somebody named Mathias. He had not heard of anybody named Mathias before.

It did not matter. He would work with whomever he was required to work with. Whatever it took to increase his reputation and achieve a better position within the Corps. He would defend his new teammates with everything he had, not out of any personal attachment, but because allowing his teammates to die would reflect poorly on him.

He put the subject out of his mind. He had come to the stables to practice firing his bow while riding a horse. He did not know if or when he would ever need such a skill, but it was always good to be prepared.

Matt stepped forward into Isaacs attack and lunged out with his left hand, reaching for the blade of his opponents weapon. He intended to grasp it in his metal clad hand and hold it, where it would be of no threat to him. This was one of his greatest strengths in combat. His gauntlets, his greatest offensive weapons, were also his greatest defensive weapons.

John smiles and nodded as Emma left, looking to Malkin, "It was good to meet you. He chuckled lightly, "But I'm gettin' very hungry." Then he turned away and proceeded towards the food where he would help himself to the largest turkey legs he could find, as well as vegetables, etc..

Leroy looked at the sheet the guards had posted. New teams... "Malkin and Matthew...wonder if they'll last long than my last teammates." Leroy gave a gruff chuckled that was clearly from the bottom of his gut. Proceeding to leave the dormitories.

A rather large oak tree grew from the earth a short distance from dormitories, it's branches sprawled out in all directions. This was Leroy's 'Training Tree' as he dubbed it so long ago. As Leroy walked forward he quickly began to move faster and faster breaking into a full sprint. He planted his feet on the tree and propelled himself up the trunk and grabbed a branch about eight feet from the ground. Leroy wore his usual red tunic with the white cross in front of it, but wasn't wearing his chainmail, nor was he waring the metal boots. Under the tunic he wore a black cotton shirt and pants with leather boots. He then proceeded to pull himself up with his left arm. This was part of his daily regiment, sets of twenty with each arm as many times as he could.

Aries watched the motion as William pull his leg back in a quick snapping motion and then brought his sword in a counterclockwise, sweeping motion. From the moment the movement began Aries reacted by pushing himself backwards so he could get out of the weapons reach, keeping the longest section of staff section off by his hands pointed toward the ground on his left side.

If William didn't abandon his attack or change it in some other way, Aries would wait for the weapons movement to pass him before he would push himself forward into what would be vertically spinning strike that would come down on top William's torso if it hit. If the attack hit, William's positioning where the weapon hit as his head and shoulders were clearly the targets with the attack.
