Hearing a voice downstairs, Ian left his room to check. It turned out to be Kasey. "We're all up here. Be quiet, Keena's sleeping."

Kenna had woken during their conversation, but had kept her eyes closed and her breathing even...eavesdropping you might say. She smiled a tiny bit in her sleep, grateful to hear that she had not hurt either of them, and also happy to hear Tyler finally admit he had a thing for Kasey too. When she felt it was safe, she opened her eyes and sat up, her head swimming from the intensity of the nap she had taken. "Morning." she said jokingly to her friends, her voice caked with sleep. "What's going on?" she asked, innocently enough.

Ian sat down on the bed. "Not much is going on, other than Tyler has found the object of his affection." He pressed his fingertips to her forehead. "How are you feeling? Still hot?"

Kasey blushed, hoping she hadn't awoken the sick girl. Then she blushed again as Ian spoke. "What do you mean?" she asked slowly, not wanting to think to deeply and completely miss any undertones of sarcasm in his voice and become blind with the thought Tyler could truly want her.

Ian smiled as Kasey came in. "We're just discussing the fact that Tyler has a crush on you, but is too afraid to admit it." He nudged Tyler with his elbow. "Isn't that right?"

Kenna smiled at Ian. "I feel much better. I think I just had a chill or something, I'll be just fine." she told him, her smile much brighter than usual.

Ian smiled, acting like he didn't see what he mouthed. Later, they would tussle in the snow, just like they always did. It was a meaningless struggle, but it helped solve most of their difficulties. "I'm glad your feeling better," he said to the now awake Kenna. Smiling, he kissed her forehead softly.

Kenna blushed a light pink as Ian kissed her. "Thanks." she told him with a smile. "Me too. I'm really sorry about earlier. I guess I was talking out of my mind or something. I can't imagine leaving this place. You guys are the only family I have ever had." she added, smiling more brightly than she had all day.

Ian smiled, glad that she was staying after all. And she said that she was feeling better, though she still looked a little flushed, maybe a little fevered. "Wanna go for a walk outside? It might help cool you off, and I haven't had enough time outside. I'd hate to have to go alone."

Ian smiled, taking her hand and gently pulling her from bed. "Thanks." He walked with her downstairs and outside, where fresh snow was still falling.

Kasey timidly made her way to a bed across the room from the one Tyler was now sitting on. Kenna was going to leave? Tyler likes me? Me?... All of the thoughts spinning around in her head ended up in a simple quiet "hello," and even that made her cheeks burn.

Ian was standing outside, while he waited for Keena to get her coat. The snow was crying fresh powder, and Ian smiled up at it. It was so beautiful. Ian wondered why he never noticed the beauty of this world before.
