Celeron nodded.
"Alright then rest for now. Celeron will not be so quick to strike you down now. He may try but I will know when and where he will appear before he does now thanks to his insistent need to torture you." Celeron said calmly. "Eventually we will beat him.

She didn’t know if she needed to be comforted or fearful. She just felt relaxed with Celeron near as she would place her head upon his lap and fall asleep. Her eyes were so heavy that perhaps she could sleep there and not be so scared even inside Azrael’s guest den. Kokoro had appeared there a couple of times already to take her while everyone was there. Now not everyone was in the room, she was an open target.

Shinn smiled and giggled softly, enjoying Miluiel's soft touch. Azrael held up a hand. "Don't you worry, we don't speak entirely in our tongue unless it is on a feast, or if a matter of importance is being addressed, then I as the Alpha, must hear and speak in out language, which we call the Old Tongue." He explained. "Though learning would help in that case. I actually only accepted being raised up to Alpha a year ago. They had wanted me to be Alpha earlier, but I was reluctant to take, feeling I wouldn't be a good leader, for you see, I am the youngest Alpha in any known pack. I accepted at the urging of the elders." He said looking into the fire.
Shinn stood up puffing out his chest. "When I grow up I'm gonna be Alpha! I'll be the best Alpha there ever was!"

Miluiel laughed. "Yes you will most certainly be the best Alpha ever little Shinn, with your father's training." She smiled at the pup. "Little Shinn, will you help me learn your language if I teach you about the world?" She smiled at the pup, thankful that he knew the common language that she spoke as well. She had her own language in her mind, but would not think of using it to confuse Shinn.
"But why were you so hesitant, were their other worries?" She wondered if he had had his mate at that time. She looked at Shinn and wondered what he thought of his mother missing. What did he think of it? Miluiel smiled. "When do you want to begin Shinn? Are you hungry?"

Shinn laughed and nodded. "Yeah! I can tell ya!" He said happily. Shinn's stomach growled. "I guess I could somethin' ta eat." He said.
Azrael smiled faintly. "Well... the forest was still living at the time, but it was not healthy, and I didn't want to do anything would make the situation." Azrael said. There was more to it, at the time his feelings had been turned upside down by the death of Izalia, and it had taken awhile before he had recovered enough, and Shinn was old enough that his sisters could caretake for him, without Shinn missing him while was out. He would tell Miluiel of this later however, he didn't want to get into that topic. Azrael patted Shinn's head and stood up. "I will go grab some meat for you, my son. Just call out if you want something as well, Miluiel. I do think we have some dried fruit if you prefer that." He said, standing up and heading toward the storage.

"Fruit would be lovely," She blushed looking at Shinn, "You see fruit, as well as vegetables and other plants are what some creatures prefer to eat." Out of her pack she puled out a piece of bread with a small bite eaten out of it. "You see this, for me one bite of this will keep me full for hours to come."

Shinn blinked. "Really?" He said tilting his head curiously. "That's interestin'. We sometimes eat have fruit sometimes, but I like rabbit better! Mmm.... rabbit is yummy!" He said licking his lips and rubbing his tummy at the thought of rabbit. "Does that taste good?" He asked about the bread.

"It's alright, good enough for me." She broke off a very little bit, "Would you like to try it?" She asked offering it to him. She took off another piece and put it in her mouth. The taste was very plain, very bland, there was hardly any taste. "I am not familiar with rabbit." Miluiel said softly.

Shinn cautiously took the piece of the bread offered to him. He sniffed it a few times and then popped it into his mouth. He chewed it and the swallowed. "Not tasty." He said in response. "Rabbit is better!" He said again enthusiastically.
Azrael returned with a piece of meat for Shinn in one hand and some fruit for Miluiel. "Here you are, Miluiel." He said laying the piece of cloth in front of the elf. The fruit was simple, mostly composed of berries, with a few bits of apple and apricot mixed in. He gave the meat to Shinn, and the cub began to gobble it up with gusto. "Slow yourself, my son. Its not going anyhwere!" He said with a small laugh.

Miluiel laughed jovially, "I'm sorry little Shinn, it is a part of the world though." It was her job to teach him, she just hoped that it wouldn't hurt him to eat the meat as well as the bread. "I am not fond of the rabbit, but that is just my thought."
"Thank you very much Azrael, it is greatly appreciated." She nibbled on a piece of the apple and a couple of the berries. "This is wonderful! Thank you!"

Shinn swallowed what was in his mouth and looked up at Mara. "Oh, okay." He said, a bit downcast, but his enthusiasm bounced back up instantly. "But bread isn't that bad! Tastes better than treebark!" He said with laugh before returning to gobbling up his meat.
Azrael smiled. Good, she brings the message across. He thought. Azrael ate a piece of dried apricot. "It is no problem. We keep fruit because we do eat fruit, but its more of a treat for us." He said.
Shinn finish his meat, and gave off a tiny little burp, covering his muzzle and muttered a polite "excuse me." He rubbed his tummy, happy that there was food in it. "Opau scolded me for climbing a tree to grab an apple once." He said.
Azrael looked at Shinn. "With good reason. You are a wolf, my son. Not a cat!" He said whimsically. "You could have gotten hurt.

"It's alright if you don't like it. It's a different culture. We are made differently. The way I work is different from how you work. We have many things in common, but small differences."
"I am not taking your treat then am I?" Miluiel asked fearfully, " I can continue to eat the bread." There was no nutrition in the bread, it was simply to fill an empty stomach.
Miluiel rubbed Shinn's head. "You have very fine manners, your father has taught you well! And I would have to agree with him, climbing trees is very dangerous." She knew that this was not the time to talk about people who lived in trees.

Azrael held up a hand and shook his head. "No! Nothing of the sort. I'm just saying we don't eat it often, and with the forest back we will be able to get as much as we need during the spring." He said to reassure her. "Please, eat the fruit. And think nothing of it! Please eat your fill!" He said to her.
Shinn nodded taking in what Miluiel meant about the differences in culture. "Is that the only kind of bread there is?" He asked curiously. His tail swished about, he wanted to learn as much as he could about other places. He sat down on the floor, cross legged, looking at Miluiel with wonder and attention.

"Thank you very much!" Miluiel said to Azrael. "I really wouldn't want to be taking from your snacks, especially if they were something very special to your clan."
Miluiel turned her attention to Shinn. "No, there are many types of bread, and many of them taste much better than the one that you sampled. What you sampled is a type of bread that comes from my clan, and only my clan makes it. It is not made for taste, but for sustaining one who will be traveling, and maybe not able to access food on the path."

Shinn nodded and smiled. "Just like there are other kinds of fruit!" He said in understanding. "That's interestin'!" Shinn's tail thumped on the floor. "How do ya make bread?" He asked.
Azrael smiled and shrugged as he watched the two. He was keenly interested himself in their discussion.
