She was taken off guard by his comment, so when he pulled her closer she gasped. Her eyes widened, and she looked up at him with surprise.
And wonder.
He moved through the circles of the dance of getting to know her smoothly. A lot smoother than Flutter would have been able to manage. That she was open with him was a testament to how at ease he placed her.
"If you said something like that I would have to say that you were hiding the truth inside of humor because you are afraid of what I would say."
Why, oh why couldn't she just shut up when things were going well? That naggling part of her brain made her say exactly what it was that she was thinking each time. And every time it acted like a bucket of ice water being thrown over someone's head.
She looked away, afraid of what his reaction to her words would be.

Ha ha ha!
Well..... What DID you expect his reaction to be?
You speak your mind rather directly.
Slowly, he moved towards a darkened corner. Privacy had it's best moments. His hand, it crept to her chin, telling her to look at him. So he just stared Flutter down, gazing on those hues of hers. Closing up to her face, then grazing his lips through the side of her head, against her hair, to the ear.
Still, you did not answer me. Would you believe me...if I said I like you?
A sinister smile as he back up enough to stare into her eyes once more. And then, he waited for her reply.

She had expected him to be angry with her at seeing through his ruse. She was surprised that he appreciated the fact that she was so direct. Many had told her in less kind words that it was a curse to speak so freely of her thoughts.
Be what people want you to be, and work out something for yourself when you have them where you want them. That had been what her mother had done. She'd needed a husband to help her buy a house, and care for her daughter, and he had needed a wife to help raise his son, and would put up with his less than desirable traits.
A woman who wouldn't talk about the things he did inside of his home.
Flutter shuddered, and shook her head. Why did she always find herself back inside of those unpleasant memories? She was startled out of them when he held her face, and was thrilled when his lips tauntingly brushed against her. She found herself closing her eyes, and thinking only of his lips.
They were a nice pair of lips. Very kissable. When she opened her eyes up slowly to find him staring at her, she found those kissable lips twisted into a sinister smile. Yes, he was waiting for an invitation of sorts, and he was teasing her.
"I would believe you, but you would have to back those words up with a deed to seal my faith in your words." she said, giving him a coy smile of her own.

His gaze softened. It could just barely give off a feeling of being able to lay on them and drift into deep slumber. His breathing slowed, got steadier.
Hm, hm, hm...
And that was it. Kain caressed Flutter's cheek slowly. Moved forward, breath coming to a temporal stop. His lips brushing up against her's. Again, his breathing continued. The other free arm wrapped around Flutter's lower back like an octopus. And, now, for real. The feeling of another's flesh against his lips was so vey pleasant. He was never the aggressive or violent type. Unless the situation called for. He was, mostly, passionate with these things. And so he would be passionate about his feelings as well.
Now how 'bout that?

Flutter had teased him into becoming a man of action, but she had expected him to drawn out the taunting for most of the evening. She had been caught completely off guard. His arm around her lower back held a strength that set her pulse racing.
She was frightened, and exhilarated at the same time. How was that possible? In all the movies that she'd seen, the actress would be slapping the boy for being so bold. Flutter felt that she wanted to pin a medal on him for making her toes curl with pleasure.
She was breathless, and wore an expression of shock on her face.

His lips taken back towards himself. A finger lifted to his mouth, placing his fingers softly on the surface.
My, my. You looked slightly surprised, Flutter.
A small chuckle drove both his hands to be placed upon her hips. Such a figure would make him feel and want for more. Yet he managed to find the sanity to restrain himself. Such a public place was not really a good atmosphere for private moments. Oh how he wanted to take Flutter to the Hotel he'd been staying at for a while. Make her believe his words further than these simple actions. And in a hushed tone...
Do this action not please you?....or should I continue?

She looked down at his hands on her hips, and shivered with delight. How could any of this displease her? She was one soft caress from jumping his bones right then and there. She had a lot of pent up sexual frustration within her, and hadn't had anyone hit on her like this.
Touch her like that, and now tease her.
It would have been cruel if he didn't mean what he said. One look at his face told her that he would go at a pace that she set. He wanted more, she wanted to give him more but there were all these people around them and these pesky clothes in the way.
"I am pleased. I want more. All of it." she said in a low, husky tone filled with the desire that he had awoken in her.

Ooh. Those were such magic words that made things happen. Made things move. Hell, even made things appear out of nowhere.
Come with me...
Grabbing Flutter's hand, Kain made his way through the crowd once more. Towards the exit. His, once, passive evasion act changed. He was moving through dancing fools with another person. And he didn't want Flutter to get another alcohol bath. So, without anyone noticing, and hopefully, not even Flutter, Kain unleashed his black materia from his clothing. Pushing people aside carefully. Reaching the exit, finally just a few feet away, the black substance disappeared into his clothing once more. Kinda looked like a tentacle rape monster sometimes... The door was pushed open and....
Beep beep!
Kain's own company car from a few feet away started on it's own. And thankfully, it had gas. Both car doors opened as other buttons were pushed. Useful mechanism when you were being chased.
Let's go.
Once Flutter would come in.... Tires would screech.

((ooc: I hope no one minds a small time skip in this thread to following day... ^_^))
Now the morning after a lot of drinking, was sometimes not the greatest of times. Raven didn't manage to escape a hangover this time around, at least his head didn't ache too badly. He was laying on a soft mattress, his soft cotton sheets covering him and without opening his eyes just yet, tried to determine his whereabouts murkily and to no avail. Slowly his turquoise eyes showed beyond sleepy eyelids, his room, his bed... good signs. Where was..?
"Jack..?" he voiced rough but quietly, with morning grogginess, turning his head to see if the redhead had ended up staying with him last night after all.

((Given how neglected this thread has been of late, I think a time skip is welcome 3nodding ))
There was silence for a moment after Raven spoke. Somewhere, wrapped up in the cotton of the sheets entirely like a child afraid of thunder, a small body stirred. There was a little groggy sigh and a noise that was part groan and part squeak. It seemed that Raven's apparent bedmate was no stranger to the joy of a hangover either, though thankfully Jack's would pass swiftly. They usually did.
"I's dark..." Jack finally whimpered, one arm reaching out and patting around while he tried to free himself from the cotton sheets and work out where on earth he had fallen asleep this time. He wasn't sure if he'd actually heard Raven or dreamt it, until his hand finally fell on a strong, warm arm. He was instantly reassured. Jack hated waking up alone, even if it meant forcing his way into the bed of a long-suffering coworker.
Though, as he recalled with a blush that warmed the bed, he hadn't exactly had to force Raven to put up with him last night.

For a moment Raven's awareness came around quickly, just before he felt shifting in the sheets. He remembered a time when such a reaction in him to Jack's presence was one of indifference instead of wanting him to be there. The corners of his lips tugged as he heard the red head sigh and make a little noise before stating that it was dark... and blissfully so in the blond's opinion, "mm.." he answered throatily. Somehow.. Jack had wound himself up in the sheets as usual leaving but the edging for Raven. He silently laughed to himself, a small smile finding it's way onto his lips and lifted the edge of the sheet in an effort to help out his companion while his other arm was found by Jack's hand. The next he knew, the bed grew quite warm. Which only meant one thing. And that soft smile grew a little more.
"Something wrong...?" it was said slow but there was a teasing undertone in there, as though he was attempting to get more of that warmth to radiate, the blond's eyes gentle as he continued to help sort out the mess Jack was in.

A little light crept into Jack's dark world as the edge of the sheets lifted. That would explain it. He must have been moving around a lot in his sleep again. He wriggled a little, aiming towards the brighter patch and the golden haired man he could glimpse beyond it. After a little combined effort Jack's head finally escaped the clutches of the cotton shroud. He blinked groggily, hair a tangled bird's nest.
"Hnn..." He replied to Raven's question. He knew he was being teased, and that just made him blush more. But he couldn't help but smile a little shyly when he caught Raven's gaze. "...Not this morning." He replied, yawning and flopping onto his back beside his bedmate. Jack was not one to wake in a hurry. He loved the comfort and warmth of bed too much. Especially when the company was good.
"Don't tell me it's afternoon already. It feels like morning. Let it be morning." He sighed, half-closing his eyes.

"Hn." the dj replied as he settled back on the pillow now that his companion wasn't so tied up. He wondered just what he meant by that answer but wasn't about to ask. No point in sullying a good morning with too many questions. Ah, right.. but was it really morning?
Raven's hand fished for the PAD on the bedside stand and lit up the display reading the time and set it back down. "Eight thirty-six" he answered. This time, flopping face first into his pillow, hugging it almost while laying on his front, he closed his eyes again. It was great knowing he didn't have to get up for a while longer yet, he could sleep off the rest of his hangover still. The only thing that would be of some importance to do today, was read through that file he was given, the offer of co-ownership of the Den Jack gave him last night. And that could wait, he had half a mind to just accept it outright, but still, it was almost too good to be true, things handed to him like that... but this was Jack after all. Deciding to worry about it later his next thought was about food. With his mind getting more active there was little chance he'd be drifting off again anytime soon. And the allure of bacon, eggs and coffee was about to make his stomach grumble.

"Eight thirty-six?!" The reply was more of a quiet wail of horror. Jack was well known for liking his bed when he had the opportunity for a lie-in. "When I said I hoped it was morning, I was hoping I hadn't woken up before eleven." The little redhead groaned and burrowed a little into a pillow.
He didn't stay bundled up and forlorn for too long though. Though he wasn't used to getting up early unless he had a reason to, there was one good thing about being awake already. He lifted his head and looked across to his bedmate. Raven was cuddled up with his own pillow, eyes closed and looking content as he gradually woke for the day. Jack smiled softly, emeralds shining in his boyish face. Waking early meant getting to see things like that. He wondered how many people ever got the chance to see the DJ so relaxed? Not many, he suspected. Raven always seemed a little on edge and defensive.
He shuffled a little closer and reached out. A small, slender hand rested on Raven's broad back, lazily following the curve of the powerful muscles and warming the skin just slightly. "Coffee. Too early to function without coffee." Jack smiled gently, his voice low in the gloom of the room. "I'll start a brew. Want one?" He decided, willing his body to move from the comfortable position he was in.

The corner of Raven's lips pulled into a smirk; a throaty, slow chuckle escaped him and got muffled into his pillow as Jack complained. All was quiet then for a few moments, allowing that smirk of his to drift back to neutral just as the Den's owner shifted. Knowing he was being watched was usually the first thing to throw the Dj's defenses up. To the untrained eye, any other day perhaps, and definitely any other bed mate; he'd already be prepared to defend or escape, however, that was no where near the case this morning. To the taller man's recollection, it was the first morning he really wasn't bothered at all by being watched. After all, even Raven couldn't count how many times he had caught himself secretly admiring Jack without letting on or admitting it to himself on some occasions. So he just lay there without a care in his half dozing state.
That was until Jack moved closer and soothed his back with warmth. Although he didn't flex in response to the touch, Raven's eyes slowly half opened, just as Jack offered to make coffee. For a moment he said nothing in response and was only aware of how close his companion was to him. Finally it dawned on him that he had a decision to make and grunted softly into his pillow. "Hn... you don't have to do that." he spoke almost carefully, "The coffee maker will start on its own in about a half hour." he explained. It was always set to go for the next morning, since after breakfast, whenever he knew he'd be waking here the following morning. It was a necessity to have for the kind of life he lived in and a mini blessing in disguise some days.
"Buht, if ya wanna go, I ain't gonna stop ya." much less careful was he when saying those words, he knew damn well Jack didn't want to be going anywhere this early, not without a very good reason to. It wasn't just in what he said, but in how he said it that gave away the secondary meaning behind his words. And if there was anyone sensitive enough to read Raven, it was Jack. And Raven's silent message was blatantly clear.
'Relax... stay a while longer.... but only if you want to.'
