At first Madison did not hear the voice of the small child as she was lost in her own little world. However, it wasn’t till she felt the sensation of the tugging that she practically jumped out of her skin. The rabbit quickly looked down to see a small girl standing beside her wearing a rather large fluffy white hoodie.

Although Madison could only see the young girl’s eyes, it was clear that she was everything but unafraid; a feeling that the two of them were currently sharing at the same time. Slowly the rabbit crouched down to the young girl’s level in order to speak to her more closely, after all this child seemed to have something important that she required to say to her.

Sunstrike

"Ms. Bunny, this...this is something papa gave me, to be brave."

Delicate fingers pushed something into her hands, and Madi would feel the weight of something solid, a piece of stone? A charm? It was hard to tell in the darkness.

"He said to hide it...but," A lower lip wiggle. "Mommy said it would be better if we gave it to you." She looked back towards an older woman, toting another child along with her. The woman nodded encouragingly.

“I promise you that it will remain in safe hands, little one.” Madison smiled slightly at the child as the girl handed her the mysterious item to her. The rabbit could feel the small item between her fingers as she held onto it. However, no matter how many times she seemed to rub her hands over the item it was practically impossible to make it out. She seemed slightly focused on it as she tried to decipher it.

Sunstrike

"Daddy found it in the ruins on the ex'pedtion." And with that little rush, she dove back to her mothers arms.

Before Madison was able to say anything the small child was gone. Slowly standing on her own two feet, the rabbit placed the mysterious heirloom inside her jacket pocket. After all, if it was that important it was best to keep it out of sight; at least until she had an opportunity to examine it closer.

Right now though, was definitely not the time.

Stephen/Quinn -

The boys would quietly edge away from what looked to be a for certain hotspot, activity bustling here and there. Even as they made their way backwards, trees began felling to the industrious might that was the shade, scattering, and in some cases, embedding, animals in mighty sweeps of branches.

Well...at least that explained the deer. Rooks weren't bright, but the force of most attacks were pretty damn spectacular.

The boy, sensing the trouble, quietly shifted something into Stephen's hand as they started moving again. It was hard to tell what the item might actually be, but it's importance buzzed across the human man's head like a sudden bright light.

Ichigo -

Speaking of the power and might of Rooks, Ichigo was feelin a world of spiritual hurt as a strawberry haired male hole was embedded into the side of a building.

Another punch was lined up, ready to make the hole a bit deeper, when there was a giggle.

It was so alien in the surroundings, that the sound even caught hold of the creature, deep into the black miasma that made up it's mental processes.

A small girl, no larger then five foot, waved at it from a nearby window, then pointed downwards.

Cue comedic moment where the rook looks down, and suddenly finds it's feet surrounded by a pair of interlocked twin sun's. The ground, what was left of it, broke into quarters, then half quarters, then dust in an array of lights, which then erupted upwards, volcanic-like, and literally exploded the creatures legs out from under it in a volley of fireballs.

Jean Redd watched the black fountain and burn, then land in a wet, wiggly mess about five seconds later.

Ichigo was saved?

Kurosakii Ichigo

Ichigo was still up against the broken crates and the shallow crater he left in the wall from the massive arm swing the Rook gave him. Normally, humans went squish when they hit walls like that. Thankfully, Ichigo's shinigami form was much sturdier due to his spirit, acting like a condensed outer layer to his skin to withstand the impact.

Of course, "withstand" probably isn't the word. "Not die" would be a better fit, as the orange-haired warrior was in a world of pain.

Ghuh...That was one hell of a swing...I wasn't...ready...

No time to think about that, though. Ichigo had to get back into the game as soon as-

!

Ahhhh, crap! Not again!

Ichigo watched as the Rook readied its fist, prepared to drive Ichigo through the building itself. Defending against it in this state would only wear Ichigo down even further. He had to go on the offensive, but he couldn't do that just standing around. He had to move quick!

Or did he?

With only a small amount of warning, a massive torrent of fire erupted from beneath the giant shade as if it was standing on top of a volcano. The Rook was engulfed in the fire so deeply that Ichigo couldn't tell what happened to it. Even so, odds were likely that it wasn't going to be punching things anymore. That was good for Ichigo.

For a moment Ichigo thought he had been saved by some friend or ally from his past that had followed him here like they always did. He had no idea what that last attack was, and for all he knew it could have been kido or something. But before he could settle on some dramatic appearance from someone he knew, a small girl landed in what he assumed was the inky black remains of the Rook.

"Huh? Who are you?"

It was the most simple of questions to ask someone who saved him. "Thanks" probably would have been better, but Ichigo wasn't thinking very straight at the moment, with the whole smashed-into-a-wall thing.

Against better judgement, and a bit of hypocrisy, instead of hovering around where she wasn't needed, Asherah stepped out of the building. Her eyes wandered a bit, the girl wasn't often nervous, but something told her in the back of her head to be on her guard. Resting her hand on her hip, she slowly started heading west towards the wall. Perhaps she could be of use there, or a pretty distraction.

You know, which ever.

[Holy shyte, you replied! Happiness is you. smile

7 months, woooow.]

"Sweet Jesus..." he muttered to himself, ambling over a long-fallen tree. He looked back every now and then, making sure of exactly his distance from trouble. His old joints ached, and instinct told him to reach for a stimulant or a pain killer, or both. Age was tearing him apart bit by bit, piece by piece, and he could just assuage it's vile hands for another battle if he just reached to his thigh...

"No!" shaking his head, Quinn couldn't do it. Not only was he deluding himself into thinking he could remain young and nimble, he was deluding himself that it was the right thing to try. He would need those later anyway, not so soon in the battle. The time wasn't right.

The old man took Stephen's frame into view, trying to gauge his own state of being.
