"Patient suffers lacerations and bruises from being an idiot training too hard," Shinichi growled as he tromped through the clinic doors and laid Sorri down on the nearest free bed. "We were training Shunshin and he couldn't control his chakra and ran into a rock," he said impassively, as if relating a play rather than an event that put Sorri's life into danger. If only he had recognized just how bruised up the kid was. Not everyone had his endurance at that age. "So, how's he going to be, Kumiko-san?" he asked, referring to the closest nurse he saw, but also laying an eye on Tenko in case Kumiko was too busy. Shinichi lightly traced a cut on Sorri's arm, then took a paintbrush from the nurses station, and wrote 'I'm Stupid' on the teenager's forehead.
Orika graciously took the list of things to do from Tenko-san and whistled. Wow, she didn't know what half the stuff on there meant, but they seemed easy enough to figure out. She loved to be independent and learn things on her own! Group work was fun too, but the nurses and Aya seemed to be busy and ignored her for the most part. That was okay since she had stuff to do that would take her mind off the isolation. "I'll be done before you can take care of him!" Orika said, pointing to Sorri with a giggle. He was in bad shape, but she knew the nurses were awesome and wouldn't let anything happen to the boy. Plus, it didn't look like he'd broken any big bones, maybe just small bones. Well, she wasn't a doctor; How could she tell? Meh. She turned her attention to making tea and began her search for the ultimate calming tea by visiting the hospital's very adequate storage room. Hm, which type? Um, which type would produce the most calming effect? Certainly not black tea, for there was too much caffeine. Oh! This looked great! Orika chose an herbal mixture with chamomile and a little bit of mint. She jogged back to the tea station in case the water was boiling. Luckily, she was just in time to watch the water boil. Orika took the kettle off and added the tea to the pot, then poured the water from the kettle over to let the tea steep.

Akiko nodded. The energetic nurse does seem to have a prominent presence. Still, she felt bad for ignoring Tenko. She wanted to apologize again, but she realized that it probably wouldn't have done much good. Tenko seemed like she didn't need one: in fact, she was quite understanding. Akiko was glad. She was going to turn back to her studies, but she realized that the room she was in was starting to get a little crowded. She looked around at all the people here and wondered what they were all doing here. Some of them seemed to be on some cryptic, riddle-based scavenger hunt. Akiko was impressed; whoever came up with that must have been very clever. It seems like a lot of the people were there for training, either giving or receiving it. She wondered what Aya was up to... but she'd ask about that later. She wanted to finish up her studies on emergency medical care.
She went back to her book and read up on splints and slings. She mowed through the material rather quickly, and she began to realize what exactly would be expected of her. She'd have to keep limbs from moving while they were injured, for one. Akiko imagined what would happen if a broken leg was allowed to flop around of its own accord, and she instantly felt sick. As soon as she reached the end, she closed the book with a sharp snap and turned to Aya. "Hey, umm... have you... ever had to do this stuff?" she asked, hoping Aya would be able to ease her concerns at least a little.

Aya smiled as Tenko, her normal gentle self, spoke with Akiko. "Tenko's the nicest person on Shima. You gotta remember that," the chunin said, winking at Tenko and giving her a big smile. Tenko and Hanabira both had that 'invisible' air about them with their quite and slightly shy dispositions. Aya always loved to give those that were usually missed in the spotlight by greeting them first. "Eh? Oh, yea! Moma-Yuki had me do a million of those. It was really hard at first. I didn't have very good focus like you, Akiko. It probably took me a whole day to finish that book," Aya said, pointing at the book that the girl just closed. As Shinichi came into the room with Sorri, Aya couldn't help but frown a little. The light haired girl still felt that she was on bad terms with the Kage since the Earth Country. There was an uneasiness in her stomach that made her sick when she heard his voice and then saw his face. Aya had never had a grudge before, but now she had one and it was holding onto her.
"Looks like you have your first patient, Akiko-chan!" the girl said with a smile making the frown dissipate instantly as she got up from her spot next to Akiko to get out the gauze. "Why don't you start bandaging Sorri up? I have to look at the medical records in Moma-Yuki's study," Aya suggested as she put her arm around Akiko and gave her an encouraging squeeze. "Remember to clean the wounds and then use anti-septic," the teenager said with a smile as she walked past Shinichi without a glance and then turned around at the door. "When you're all done, Akiko, come find me. I have a neat jutsu to show you," she added in just before leaving the room to go to Yuki's office.

[In Yuki's Office]
"Not all the seals are related to attacks, Maya. The dog represents charge as in gathering energy. In our medical techniques you have to charge up your chakra and hold it carefully while applying its passive state to wounds," Yuki explained to Maya as she commented on the seal of the dog. As she approached the entrance to the clinic, the woman turned around and pointed at Baki. "We'll be out shortly," the woman said, giving way that Baki would have to wait outside while they gathered materials for Maya's learning process. Even though the woman admired the bond between Maya and Baki, the cleanliness and relaxed atmosphere of the clinic were among her top priorities. As she entered the clinic, she instantly smelt tea brewing. However, it was lacking the usual scent of Tenko's tea. Looking into the room with her emerald eyes, Yuki spotted Orika. The girl had been a little bit of misfit lately and at a crossroads in her training. Yuki figured it had been due to the death of her mother, but then again the anbu had always known of Orika's constant change of opinion towards Shinobi. "Making tea, Orika?" Yuki asked as she walked up to the pot where the smells of mint and chamomile were in the air. "Smells wonderful. You should offer milk with this tea. It will really put the body at rest," Yuki suggested to the girl as she continued on through the clinic to her study.
In her study she was surprised to see light blue hair rummaging through her files. Putting her hands on her hips and tapping her long fingernails against them, Yuki cleared her throat. "AHEM!" the woman coughed at her daughter. "You visit the island and the first thing you do is not greet your adoring mother, but rummage through her things and make a mess of her study? Tenmoki Aya, I taught you much better manners than this!" the woman scolded her eldest daughter. As she walked over to her book shelf in a huff to grab several scroll for Maya. Grabbing two scrolls down from the shelf, Yuki handed them to the girl. "These are the two readings you'll need to read to learn the technique. However, before you begin reading those there is a biology book you'll have to read on anatomy," the woman said, grabbing a piece of paper off her desk while shooting a nasty glare at her daughter. Taking out her ink pen, Yuki wrote down the name of the book and then several key subjects she wanted Maya to research. "With this book, I suggest you have a frog to compare and learn the basic parts of a body," Moma-Yuki said in a stern and gloomy voice. Of course, this tone was not meant for Maya, but for Yuki's displeasure with Aya. "Then, make me a diagram showing me you know the major arteries of the body and then also be prepared to tell me how a cell dies. You can either read about it or get a lecture from Tenko or Kumiko," the woman said, writing all this down for Maya and handing her a piece of paper. "Good luck, darling. If you have any questions about your readings, come see me or the nurses," Yuki said with a good bye to Maya and a sharp turn towards Aya. "What are you doing?" the woman asked coldly at her daughter.

As Kumiko sat back many things began to transpire throughout the clinic. First was the sudden appearance of Aya. The last Kumiko knew of her was that she and her boyfriend had went on a mission. Something involving the previous Kage, but the nurse was never given all the details. “My. My. This is a surprise. How have you been Aya?” the woman asked, but her mind was already set onto helping her younger cousin. The or just seeing a medical learning being done had just inspired the girl to help out. Following not too far behind was Maya. As busty nurse watched the cousins at work her mind could see the connection the two were building. “Heh maybe more like sisters?” the enchantress surmised as she adjusted her nurse hat. It would do Aya good. The siblings in her life seemed to disappear for one reason or the other, but hopefully Akiko could break that nasty habit of Tenmoki family disappearance.
Hearing Tenko speak from the other room the beautiful nurse had to speak up. “Bahh. Don’t try and make it look like I steal the spotlight. As soon as a medical crisis is underway you steal all my thunder.” she replied to her friend. Soon another face that Kumiko rarely saw, but for different reasons. The blue eye cougar felt that the wild girl just didn’t feel at ease in a clinic every time she had to come. Or perhaps she had a fear of needles? The final unexpected guess, although him carrying a student was not a surprise, was the Kage himself. As the man talked of Sorri if he was just part of a story and not actually there, the dark blue brows furrowed a little. “Well he won’t ever if you keep having him run into rocks Shinichi-sama. Maybe if your learning curve wasn’t meant for jounins they wouldn’t end up this way.” nurse cougar stated with irritation in her voice. Her brain did not know the entire story of their training, but based on past actions the red demon of Shima was one to teach children through broken bones, missing teeth, and scars that lasted for most of the year.
As Aya suggested the idea of fixing Sorri instead of Mokei Mokei the girl decided to contemplate this for a second. After a few seconds she shrugged her shoulders. Always better to learn with the living rather than an actual dummy. Also if worse comes to worse she’ll fix any part of Sorri that Akiko may have made worse… Instead she can use, Sorri, once he’s conscious to fix Mokei Mokei or maybe Orika when the tea was done. Kumiko’s arms took the white headed teen as well as the paint brush from the crimson kage. She placed him on a bed for Akiko to work on. Using a pale forearm the seducer was considering to rub the paint off of the boy’s forehead, but thought of a better idea. Instead she used the paintbrush for her own artistic creativity, making a devil’s pointy beard on his chin with two swirls on his cheek, two small drawn horns above Shinichi’s graffiti, and finally colored his eyebrows with the black paint so that it looked as if he had one long unibrow above his eyes. Well Kumiko could always blame Shinichi for this.
The last person to this party in the clinic was none other than the hag. Well if two Tenmoki were here the big busty old woman couldn’t be far behind. Giving a Tenko a look she made her next words to attack the rival in her life. “Speaking of stealing the spotlight Tenko, here’s the hag that likes to be the center of everything.”. Turning back towards the anbu, Kumiko pushed up her cheek with one of her palms. “You wake me up to come to the clinic to help Tenko on my day off and then you come down here yourself? You getting senile in your old age you bat?”she stated not in anger, but in curiosity. As vicious as her words were, the cougar was just snooping as to what the woman was doing today.

Aya ceased her digging as she heard a familiar attention grabber echo up the throat of her dear mother. Freezing where she stood with several papers in her hand, Aya slowly lifted up her head to smile at her mother. "Hi, Moma," she said a little nervously with a shaky smile. She knew not to move and not to go anywhere while her mother spoke to Maya. As she listened though, Aya was a bit curious about which technique Maya was learning from her mother. It sounded like the healing jutsu, but... that didn't seem like Maya. As Aya awaited for her mother to turn back to her, she heard Kumiko's comments from the other room. It seemed that the loose nurse had gotten harder in her language, calling Moma-Yuki a hag and an old bat. Aya felt like Yuki's already agitated state was going to be even more aggravated thanks to Kumiko. "Gomen ne sai!" Aya quickly said, apologizing to her mother as she asked what Aya was doing. "When we returned from the Chunin exams, Kana fell ill with a high fever and an overproduction of plasma. There's no way I can treat him since I haven't been educated on his clan's special abilities, so Kazuma and I came to see if you had any records," Aya quickly blurted out to her mother. "I came to the clinic thinking you'd be here..." Aya said, stating the truth to her mother as she shrugged her shoulders to her ears in an attempt to be cute and innocent.

((Naughty Aznka! I had to figure out the scene of the accident all by myself! I think I have a general idea of what's happened to him, though...))
Akiko looked at the poor ninja. He sure was in poor shape--at least on his head. He looked the victim over and saw the primary injury: trauma to the back of the skull. He seems to have lost a good amount of blood, though Akiko couldn't say for sure what that would've meant. Namely, she didn't know if he was unconscious from the blood loss or from the blunt force to the head. She hoped it was only the latter.
She take a closer look at the wound and immediately took a few steps back. She hadn't seen any real injuries like this before, and it was more than a little intimidating to be the person responsible for his care. She swallowed, hoping the lump in her throat would go down. She wanted to go straight for the bandages, but she shied away. There were too many questions left. What if, for instance, he had some kind of neck injury? If she moved his head any, she'd only end up injuring him further! She really didn't want to risk it... but seeing the poor boy lying there defenselessly, she realized he needed some kind of help. But why did it have to be her? Why so soon?
"I... umm, give me a minute..." she stammered, trying to gather herself to approach the boy again.

Yuki turned and shot a green cold stare at Kumiko before slamming the door to have some privacy with her daughter. Readjusting herself once again to put those small hands on her large hips, Yuki waited for her daughter's apology which came sure enough along with an explanation. "I see," Yuki said rounding her office to sit in her chair that Aya stood closely by. "I have no records of any of the Kun Kumo genetics. They dislike us, Aya. You'll have to go with Kazuma to Onbin Kashou and ask the elders there," Yuki said with a sigh before reaching in her desk for a bottle of white wine. "There's been word of Samurai activity in the area there as well. I've charged Kane's squad with checking it out since Sukotto is taking a squad in search of the Peregrine scroll that the Samurai are also after. Its a rather good thing that you showed up, honey," Yuki said pouring a glass of wine for herself and for Aya. "I'll have to ask you to go with Kane and investigate while getting an antidote for your Kana," Yuki said as she leaned back in her chair, handing the glass to Aya while taking a sip herself.
Aya listened to her mother's words and took the glass of wine from her. She looked dully into it with her blue eyes as the Samurai Order came up again. Aya nodded, knowing that Kana's family would be in trouble and even if they held that prejudice towards her that Kazuma did, Aya would try her hardest to help... for Kana. "Hai..." Aya answered softly before taking a sip of the sweet wine. "Oh! Thanks for sending me those techniques, Moma. I'm very eager to learn them. I've been practicing too for them. And I was also wondering if Tomoko was around? There's a useful water technique I was hoping to learn from her-" Aya began saying, but Yuki quickly interjected with words and a hand."Tomoko has been banished from the island along with those children she calls brats," Yuki said, putting a halt to Aya's thoughts and wants. "You could also ask Shinichi to teach you water techniques. He is the ninjutsu master, Aya," Moma-Yuki told her daughter as she leaned back in her chair, not knowing that there had been tension between her daughter and the new Kage. Finishing off her glass of wine and putting the bottle back in her desk, Yuki stood up. "Anyways, I'm glad you're here to help, honey. I have to get to the Kage's office. There are many requests for missions lately due to the Samurai Activity and they must all be sorted out," Yuki said as she moved towards the door. "Keep a close eye on Kazuma while he's here. I don't like having him on this island. You shouldn't have brought him with you," Yuki told her daughter as she left the room.
"Kage," Yuki said firmly as she approached Akiko who was tending to Sorri. "I don't know how many times I have to tell you to take it easy on these kids. They're not going to get any stronger by lying around unconscious," the woman nagged at him. "Attend to his head first, Akiko, honey. Kage-sama, I would like you to come with me to the office. There are some things I need to go over with you," Yuki said as she began walking away towards the exit of the clinic.

Aya's loose grip on her wine glass tightened slightly as Yuki stated that Tomoko was banned from the island along with Seiko and Zoku. What had Tomoko done now that she was banned from the island? Aya didn't like being away from Shimagakure and out of the loop. "Ok," Aya said as Yuki began to leave, but turned around to say one last thing. As Yuki left the office, Aya let the door close behind her. Leaning against the desk with one hand while the other held the glass of wine, Aya stared sadly into its placid surface. Tomoko was banned from Shimagakure. Kazuma wasn't welcomed here. Shinichi was the master of this island. The Kun Kumo's disliked her. Why was all this decided? The anbu and the Kage decided everything. The clan leaders fastened everyone with opinions and dispositions. Aya was getting so tired of it all. Closing her blue eyes, she sighed heavily with disgust as she thought of just taking the glass of wine and throwing it into the wall. As the thought played out in her mind, the glass remained settled in her hand. Setting down the glass on Yuki's desk, Aya headed towards the window. She didn't want to pass by everyone again, so she would take her leave in a more silent way.
As the blue haired shinobi went through the window and landed gently on the grass outside, she began her walk towards the arboretum where Tomoko's tree house was. Hopefully the woman left behind some scrolls on the technique that Aya was interested in. If not, Aya would do as her mother asked and find Kazuma to keep a close eye on him. The boy had messed up several times while in the village. Right now he was with Kane on the shoreline. There wasn't anything he could do right now... As those thoughts settled Aya's mind, she made her way up the path to the arboretum while casually playing with her chakra. Aya was so close... to snapping from all the invisible weight on her shoulders.

A frog? Maya's jaw almost dropped when she saw the amount of reading to be done. Naturally, she was about ready to say 'thanks, but no thanks,' as far as learning the technique, but she shut her mouth and nodded in what she hoped was a grateful manner. With the two scrolls and the sheet of paper, she knew she'd probably have to find the book at the library, which she made a face at. She didn't want to study there, it was so ... quiet. And studious-looking. Maybe she could get the book and study somewhere where she knew no one would be...
Maya gave a small smile - the Forest of Sorrows would be a good place to study, and Baki could definitely catch her a frog there! He might also be able to catch dinner, which was always a good thing. She was sure Mai... Maya faltered for a second, old habits crashing down on her world. Mai wasn't around anymore to barter with. There was Prodo, and Udo, but otherwise... Maya sighed and rubbed her face with her free hand. Hell. She turned, exiting the clinic and whistling for Baki, making a quick stop at the library for her books and then heading straight to the Forest for some intensive studying.

Akiko got her nerve up and approached the victim. She had a lot of concerns, so she checked them one by one. First, the victim was unconscious, but she didn't know how far gone he was. "Are you okay?" she asked the boy, speaking gently but just loudly enough to be heard. She got no response. "If you can, try to move your fingers," she tried. If he could do that, then at least she'd know he was responsive. Regrettably, he did nothing. So, perhaps he would respond to pain. She opened up the front of his shirt and rubbed his sternum with two knuckles. The boy grimaced a little at this, and his body stiffened a little. This was a good sign; he wasn't fully out of it.
For a moment, she watched the steady, if strained, rise and fall of the chest. She then moved on to see if there were any other injuries. She put her hands behind his neck and very carefully felt there. Thankfully, his neck seemed strong and unharmed. She then swept her hands down behind his back and worked her way down his body, pulling her hands out and checking for blood every once in a while. She did find a small scrape on his left forearm, and it was bent at an odd angle. "Umm," she started, unsure of how things were done around here, "This guy... or subject? I dunno... he's got head injuries and his arm might be broken. Nothing else, though," she concluded. Akiko: Fix up Sorri! Use the gauze and tend to Sorri's wounds. The big chested nurse gave a sly smile at the reaction from Yuki. It was nice to get that woman to squirm, but it was no fun if she didn’t fight back. After all what much of rivalry would it be if there weren’t flares on both sides? Guess it is because of all the anbu work she does along with this arising ordeal of samurai. With a sigh the blue eyed woman turned towards Akiko to see her progress. She gave a little chuckle towards the girl. Melding a person was a lot tougher than a dummy. “Very good. You’ve assessed what is wrong. Now do you think you’re up to the challenge of fixing him up? Give it a shot. If you need help Tenko and I are right here.” she stated with a soft smile.

Akiko blushed a little. Being encouraged by the nurse was a good gesture, and the offer to take over should she fail certainly put her mind at ease. Still, she hadn't really done that much to earn this praise. If anything, all Akiko had done so far was assess the casualty and avoid the main problem--the bleeding head.
Akiko tried to think back to the book and what it recommended to do in this situation. Unfortunately, nothing was coming to her off-hand. She considered her options at the moment and decided to start cleaning the wound. She looked around for some supplies, but she was greeted with a very wide selection. It was quite overwhelming to see so many options, especially since she wasn't exactly sure what she was looking for. As her natural indecision and the dire nature of the situation clashed, she began to panic. Not even thinking, she snatched up some soft gauze. She began to turn the object over in her hands, both looking for the end and considering what to do with it. She first tried to clean up what she could on the top and back of the head. She managed to get some of the blood up, but she was quickly amassing a large pile of bloody gauze. She decided that must not be the way to go about it. Mercifully, the next solution quickly popped into her mind: perhaps she could use water to wash it up. She took two steps to the sink and tried to get the water flowing. As she grabbed the handle with bloody, slippery hands, it gave a great deal of resistance. When she continued to pull on it, the handle popped off, unleashing a torrent of water that quickly began to pool up at the bottom of the basin! As if ridding her hands of some hot coals, she threw the handle down, letting it fall into the cascading water. She glanced around, looking genuinely concerned and almost crying a little.
Akiko: Fix up Sorri! Use the gauze and tend to Sorri's wounds. Clean it up properly and then inspect the wound to decide whether or not he needs stitches. DC: 23 1d20 + Knowledge (6) + Intelligence (5) + Assistance (3) = ...ugh. Train: 1/3 Special: Sorri can wake up after the exercise is completed.

The chaos of the situation began to steadily rise. She dashed back to the patient, glancing again at the head wound. It seemed to have bled quite a bit since she last saw it. Thinking quickly, she grabbed some more gauze and placed it on the main wound--a jagged scar stretching from three inches above the point of his ear down to a hard knob at the back of his head. She covered it with a couple pieces of gauze and tried to apply some pressure to coax it to stop bleeding. Unfortunately, it quickly soaked through the gauze, so she grabbed a few more and put it in place. These soaked through as well, causing Akiko to grimace and grab a handful of gauze, pressing it directly into the wall. She didn't wait nearly as long this time: the second she saw a tiny spot of red, she panicked. Starting to cry and hyperventilate, she went into a frenzy and threw gauze at the victim's head until she could see no more blood. As her tears flowed more readily, she fell to her knees, absolutely dejected. "Please..." she implored, "stop bleeding already..."
Akiko was crushed. This boy was going to get worse, and Akiko hadn't done very much at all to help. She put her personal shame aside for the time being, focusing on the boy. She knew what she had to do. In between sniffs, she stammered, "...I... I can't... please, help... help him..."
Akiko: Fix up Sorri! Use the gauze and tend to Sorri's wounds. Clean it up properly and then inspect the wound to decide whether or not he needs stitches. DC: 23 1d20 + Knowledge (6) + Intelligence (5) = ...one... point... away... Train: 1/3 Special: Sorri can wake up after the exercise is completed.

The naughty nurse came up behind the child giving the child a gentle pat on the back. Her aqua eyes showed compassion at the girl’s situation. “Now now. It’s hard, I know, but don’t give up so easily. What if you’re on a mission and one of your friends are in this condition? You can’t just leave them to bleed to death now. Now first let’s assess the situation a little bit more and see if we can work this step by step. The bleeding looks horrible, but it’s not as bad as you think. Did you know the face and scalp have many blood vessels near to the surface of the skin? Because of this a minor cut may look a lot worse than it is. Now why don’t you go and check his head again and tell me if you see signs of his skull being deformed or skull fragments.” Kumiko stated giving her an encouraging push in the direction to Sorri. The nurse already knew that his skull didn’t need critical aid, but for now she wanted Akiko get used to the sight of blood and not be afraid to get her hands a little dirty. “Ohh would you like gloves for this as you check again?” the medical teacher asked holding out a pair of gloves. “I hope your aunt doesn’t mind if I keep you here for a while even though it is night time…” the woman said to herself.
Kumiko's Encouragement: +3 to Akiko's next roll
