"Oh you really think so?"The red haired Azalie mocked as she took the sword from her back and prepared to fight Ephiny. She swung her blade from right to left intending to hack the other woman in half,a mix of fury and joy showing on her face.
Cyane prepared for another attack when she seen Ephiny step in the way,"Ephiny no!"she called out becouse she knew how dangerous this woman truely was. Wincing the shameness pulled the dagger out of her shoulder and threw it back at Azalie but the red haired girl simply cought the blade with a smirk,not even stopping in her fight with Ephiny.

Ephiny gritted her teeth. This was going to be a tough battle and she definitely couldn't afford any distractions. Luckily, her weaponmaster was up to the task; Eponin had never failed her yet. Her Amazons would rally under Eponin and take care of the assassin's army.
"I really do," she spat back as her staff somehow connected with the assassin's side, knocking her slightly backwards. Ephiny knew she was a good fighter, her opponent's overconfidence definitely worked in her advantage.
"Cyane, get out of here," Ephiny managed to let out not before blocking a myriad of blows. "You're no use here." The blonde was already injured and Ephiny wanted her out of harm's way. "Go, for Artemis' sake!"

"No way I'm not leaving you to fight aginst her on your own"Cyane replied as she stepped in front of Ephiny and blocked one of Azalies attacks with the blade of her spear. She got an idea if they both fought together they should be able to defeat her,Cyane glanced over her shoulder just for a moment and grinned hoping that the other woman would understand. Just when one of Azalies attacks were going to hit Cyane moved out of the way and spun behind the regent so that the other woman could block the attack.
'Humm they're argueing,perfect time for me to strike!'the red haired Azalie thought as she brought her sword foward to stab Ephiny,the blow was blocked by cyane.'Darn her! if they work together this could get tuff'now that the blond was distracted she attacked agian only to have Cyane disapear behind Ephiny."Stop playing games!"Azalie growled in frustration.

Knowing that Cyane was as stubborn as a mule, Ephiny relented though the thought of making it an order had crossed her mind. Either Cyane would never forgive her or most probably Cyane would just ignore her command. Ephiny blocked Azalie's thrust as the blonde spun out of the way. I guess we do make a good team, she thought before counterattacking. "Games are fun, are they not honey?" Ephiny asked Cyane sweetly, mocking the assassin. The three continued to trade blows.

"Humn so much fun"Cyane purred as she placed one arm around Ephiny's waist and the other holding the spear shot foward to block then attack agian. Cyane could tell that this red haired girl was getting even more frustrated and even more upset,her attacks became more vicous and more careless as well.
Azalie could not believe this,her job was suposed to be easy just kill these two and the amazons would fall apart but they were more prpared than she thought. It didn't help that they were now attacking her together,each of them making up for the weakspot of the other.There had to be a way,she growled and started to attack them more vicously but she was leaving herself more open to attacks as well.

Ephiny almost smirked as Cyane wrapped an arm around her. The redhead was definitely distracted now as her attacks became more and more sloppy. Suddenly, Ephiny saw an opening; the assassin had dropped her guard as Ephiny and Cyane had been on the defensive the whole bout. It was an optimal time to go on the offensive.
Without warning, Ephiny unleashed a series of attacks. Her staff was a whirl. She hoped to disarm the assassin. She knew Cyane had saw the opening as well.

Cyane knew Ephiny had seen the same thing as she had,it was evident in the way the other womans attacks changed and it really was a turn on. 'Focus now Cyane and think about bedding her later'she told herself as she too began to attack the crazy ladies weak points.
It seemed that they weren't the only ones wining,Azalies amazons were backing off and in fact some of them were runing away. The battle was over,now if only they could get this crazy red haired woman to surender or at least give up finaly and permantly things would become peaceful.
This was not good,they were starting to push her back and it didn't help that many of her warriors were retreating."Come back here and fight you cowards!"she screamed over her shoulder but none of them were listening to her.Well at least she would not give in so easily,Azalie lunged foward in hopes of pushing the duo back agian.

Ephiny almost scoffed at the the assassin's pathetic charge. She easily sidestepped the thrust and swung her staff down low, hoping to knock the redhead off balance. She heard Eponin's fierce battle cry and knew that the battle was won. She felt many of her sisters now coming to help Cyane and herself.
This was beginning to get tiresome. Her whole body was covered in sweat, not to mention blood and dirt. Her muscles ached, she was panting like an animal and to top it off, her hair was absolutely wild. We really need to end this now, Ephiny thought. Cyane was caked in blood and dirt but somehow she pulled the look off, Ephiyn thought for a split second. She shook her head clear of those thoughts; inattention could get her killed.
She doubled her efforts, finally her staff connected with the assassin's leg.

Azalie managed to dodge the staff and she could feel the wind from it sailing past her,'That was a little to close'she managed to think for a moment before she was hit in the stomuch by the blunt end of cyane's spear.She felt the eyes of her enimies all around her and she tried to tune it out and focus on the battle.Her momentary distraction coused her to miss blocking the leg blow from Ephiny and she fell flat on her back,before Azalie could even stand she found Cyane's spear pointed at her throat.Sighing in defeat she put her hands up to show surrender and waited for what ever toture or murder they were planing.
Cyane swung her spear so she was using the blunt end and when Ephiny had the crazy lady distracted she got a direct blow to the stumach then she waited for her partner to strike agian. When Ephiny knocked her off her feet Cyane was ready with the sharp end of the spear and aimed it at her throat.She could see it in the red head eyes the understanding of losing but she didn't remove the spear from her throat,she didn't not trust the assasin.

Ephiny growled at the fallen assassin. Ephiny tried to catch her breath as her chest was heaving, making it difficult to ask questions. She looked up to see her Amazons surrounding them. She decided she would ask the questions later. They all needed to see a healer first.
"Tie her up," she narrowed her eyes. "Tight. And take her to a cell with two guards posted at all times." She looked over to Cyane who still had a wild look in her eyes, her spear still pointed at the assassin's throat.
"Cyane, it's over," she said gently, squeezing the other woman's shoulder affectionately. "It's over. Let them take her away."

Cyane growled but Ephiny's words calmed her and she slowly moved the spear away. She stared at the woman for a long time as she was lifted and had her hands tied behind her back before she was led away.Once the crazy red haired woman was lead away Cyane turned to Ephiny,"If I were you I'd post more guards to keep an eye on her I have a feeling she'll get away"the shameness warned.
She looked around the temple and seen that not only was is covered in blood and dead bodies but several statues had been destroyed as well as the stone table for offerings."sigh,I just had peace and now its been lost agian"Cyane muttered not looking at the regant. All the chances she had of being with the other woman were lost when the red haired woman attacked again,now Ephiny would spend her time questioning the prisnor and worrying about her tribe.

"You heard her," Ephiny said. Eponin, her weaponmaster nodded before disappearing to double the guard. Ephiny surveyed the damage. She could not help the tears that trickled down when she saw her fallen Amazons. They had died valiantly as warriors, at least that was a comfort.
She watched in melancholy as the rest of the tribe grieved for their sisters, mothers and lovers. She faced Cyane who was muttering bitterly, refusing to face her. She gently wrapped her arms around the blonde and impulsively placed her lips on hers. "I'm still here, you know. We're both here and we'll make it through this. I promise you."
If there was one thing Ephiny had learnt from this attack was that one could not count on life giving them a break. You only had one life and Ephiny vowed that she would live life to the fullest. She owned herself, Phantes's memory and now Cyane that much.

The shameness was suprised when the regent put her arms around her,so suprised that she barely cought the words after that but she did catch the kiss. It took only a second before she kissed back and tears welled in her eyes,"Yeah I know and I have a feeling she knew too"Cyane replied as she put her arms around Ephiny and looked up at the statue of Artemis.
"What about your duties as regent?"she glanced at the other woman and sadness filled her agian,"You can't just ignore your job".Cyane pulled away from Ephiny and looked at the ground,she had already promised herself that she would not get in the way of her sisters when it came to Ephiny.

"I think I can balance my duties as Regent and my duties to us," Ephiny replied softly. "There will never be a good time." She would try her best and that was all she could do.
"Come on, we have got to get you to a healer," Ephiny wrapped an arm around Cyane's waist, supporting the other woman. "You're still bleeding and I'd rather see it stop." She knew Cyane didn't feel the pain now due to the adrenaline of the fight but she would in the next few days.
Once she'd get Cyane to the healer, she'd confront that assassin. She frowned...she was not looking forward to that.

"Thats true"Cyane replied with her head bowed still,"No matter what we do theres never gonna be a good time for us to be together"she thought though 'maybe we shouldn't be together then'but she didn't dare to say it outloud.
"Me to,not to mention we have to get away from the stares"she whispered the last part in Ephiny's ear so that non of their sisters could hear them. It was true,most of the other amazons were watching them now and muttering amongst themselves. Cyane put her arm around Ephiny and allowed herself to be helped out of the temple and over to the healers hut,the adrenaline was starting to ware off and she started to feel the pain of her wounds.
