Alright...
Good job, Kyou, I've got nothing to say, there...just keep pluggin' away!
And Torak, I'll send you a trade since you were the only one to answer questions. xd
And if I don't get a new lesson up today, hopefully I'll get it done soon....
This is going to sound like a list of excuses to you guys, but it's all true--I swear. But, like I said, last week my computer wasn't working at all, I can't get on Gaia at school, graduation is coming up (don't hate '0 cool , Prom is Saturday, I'm debating breaking up with my boyfriend just because I miss the single life, and finals are in less than three school weeks. So if I don't get on as often, that's why. I've also got a list of other things to do for this guild, including getting two articles done on time (check out the new beginner's article that will be coming up!!!) for the guild newspaper and editing the articles themselves.
So, yeah, life is catching up to me, and I totally appologize if I don't give you the attention you deserve. "This, too, shall pass."

I found that usually I naturally seem inclined to balls (at least thats how my hands form, but I think the energy itself is doing more of a cable sort of thing between my hands). Today I took some time to really focus and try to get some results instead of just goofing off and half committing to the exercise. Once again when I really take the time to ground and meditate my hands will get to the point where they feel as if they're on fire as I rub them. This time my focus on grounding really helped the energy flow, but the energy itself seemed to do something really unusual.
I was focusing on making a ball specifically, though usually I have trouble making it disconnect from my hands (is it supposed to do that, or should there be actual contact between your hands and energy?). Instead of making a ball it seemed to create a strange sort of vortex or whirlpool of energy. At first it started moving counter clockwise and I could definately feel the pull, I actually had to try not to let my hands get pulled away by the current. It wasn't like the energy was dissapearing, just swirling in a circle. I'm not sure if it was a ball though, it was certainly a circle framed by my hands but I'm not sure if it was three dimensional or not. I could reverse the current but it seemed to disrupt the energy somehow for a moment (like if you're stiring tea and suddenly you go in the opposite direction) the second time I tried to reverse it I lost focus and it disappeared.
I could tell that the density of the energy was really thick, but I seem to have problems concentrating it. Grounding definately helped with that and drawing energy from the earth (I had figured that golden energy, which I've discovered I seem to work really well with actually, would probably be better taken from the sun but I had forgotten to focus on a specific source and was naturally inclined to the earth). I think before I was just kind of using the energy in the immediate area or excess energy that I had, because I didn't know how to draw energy from the earths core at the time. When I tried to put it into a smaller area it resisted and couldn't really be compacted. Getting it pretty large wasn't a problem (though obviously it got harder to focus as I pulled out) I started off about the size of one of those kiddie basket balls and could widen the edges to the point of a beach ball but it was getting smaller that I really had trouble with.
Should I be trying to get it so that there isn't a 'current'? Is the swirling ok or does it need to be static? Can the energy be making contact with my hands, or does it need to leave my hands and gravitate towards the center where my ball is?
Will I be able to use the swirling ball instead of a static one if thats what you intended? The active moving energy just seems to suite me better for some reason. I find that I work best with the God instead of the Lady during rituals so maybe thats why I'm inclined to golden and moving/active energy. I'm just assuming though. XD You're the expert. I just wanted to know in case it interferes with upcoming lessons.

No, moving energy is fine. If that's all you get, then go with it. Don't try to get too picky too soon, you know what I mean? wink

Lesson #7
Now we are going to start to put the elements into our shields. For this lesson, you can pick your element, but I would rather it be one of the five main ones (air, fire, water, earth and spirit). You can shield for or against something, but you should have lesson #s 5 and 6 down PAT before you try this lesson.
Start like usual, find a place where you won't be disturbed for a while. (After this it gets a little messy, so bare with me here.)
Choose your element. You may want to pick the element itself, or the color that is best associated with the element. Construct a shield and program it.
Simple, right?
But no, not really. Kyou asked if moving energy was alright for shielding. I say yes, it is--especially for constructions made of Air, Water and Fire. Earth? Eh, it doesn't move much, does it? Spirit? Well, it depends on the person. If you see Spirit as a moving thing, then it should move in your shield.
Also, how do you capture such an element and have it as a shield? First, start with your favorite element--it might just turn out that the element likes you too. You should show respect to the element, and give something back to it (just like a ritual, huh?).
If the element doesn't cooperate, ground yourself and try again later (min. of 3 hours). If it still doesn't work, ground again and (3 hours later) meditate on the element and ask it if you offended it in any way. If so, ask if you can make it better. You may not get a definate answer, but instead a feeling. If meditation doesn't work, try another element.
If you are unsuccessful, post a question here and I will get to it as soon as I can.
Reminder: Put all of your findings in you Book of Shadows because it might help you in the long run. Also, do not work with the elements when there is a slight chance of a thunderstorm, especially if you are good at controlling vast ammounts of energy.

ok, been really bussy with school and such, so i havent been here in a really, really long time. So i finially did lesson 5. It was intresting. Ive been toying with it for a week or so and i think i finally got it how i like it. I drew energy from the earth and made a some-what green blue color. Then i made this color enclose me from my chest out and around me. Diffrent from the sugestions, but i think this way worked best. Then It took the form of an eggish shape, more so an oval. I think it is because i wanted it to be snug or something. The ball was to big, and felt empty. So i had this blueish ovalish sheild around me. I felt is swarming around me. It was pritty cool. I told it to protect me on my jurny, since i was to go to a flea market today. I was safe all day, even when there were some crazy drivers, or when we had to J-walk, i was safe. I also felt a sence of protection and comfort all around me. It was pritty amazing. But it seemed to heighten my sences. I could smell things no one else could...is that normal? Also it disapeared when i wasnt looking for it, but reapeared when i was, and soetimes when i was not...is that normal also? Just wondering...ill move onto lesson 6 soon, once i get the hang of this whole sheild basics.
And dont worry, ill ground soon...^_^
blessed be heart Zabazor

I did lesson number one. It felt so...weird. My hands felt like they were vibrating or something, like your leg feels when it falls asleep. May I join your class? I know it's kind of late, but it's so cool! And, I was wondering, what's a Book of Shadows? I hope that wasn't a really stupid queston or something...

Ok so I've tried texture twice now.
I'm still working with the swirling ball/whirlpool and so far the fact that its moving in a continous circle makes it really difficult to apply certain textures to it. For example, it really didn't seem to like sticky because that slowed it down. It would seem to work for a few seconds, but then it seemed to ignore me and did its own thing. Trying to give it hard edges didn't really seem to work too well either, because it seemed to naturally move towards a circular/spherical shape because of the swirl. I tried pointy too, but that had the same effect as the sharp edges for some reason and it didn't really work.
Strangely enough hairy seemed to work very well for me because it didn't make it slow down or have to maintain a specific hard edged shape. Since the "hair" could still swirl with the rest of it it seemed pretty happy. It seemed to have the effect of when you're spinning around underwater and your hair is following you, if that makes any sense.
I haven't tried sandy or bumpy yet. I doubt that even if I could manage sandy I'd be able to actually feel it because its hard to feel that texture unless it really rough. It might slow it down too, so we'll have to see if that works. Bumpy I think would work better, so I'll try that next time.
Does it sound like I'm moving in the right direction? I'm sorry I'm so far behind some of your other students X_X I haven't had as much time to work on this and I'm trying not to rush through.
Edit: Also I've occasionally had a problem where my energy won't turn into a ball and either continuously "flickers," kinda like a light bulb and then other times it will try and form a cable inbetween my hands.
Should I take a step back and continue to work more on maintaining and creating the ball before I continue anything else with texture? And have you ever had this kind of problem yourself?

You're all doing really well. Sorry I haven't been on much. Really, I'll try to make more time to get on. Real life's been a b****.
Zabazor--Your sense of smell could be due to the fact that you're more attuned to Mother Earth and Her energies, now. It's nothing wo worry about, though it is a gift you should really mention in your BoS.
Fallen Angel--Don't worry about asking questions! No question is stupid when you're learning! I would love it if you joined my class. A BoS (Book of Shadows) is basically a magickal journal. You can put anything in your BoS--from spells, to meditations, to what happened in everyday life!
And Kyou--I'm torn between telling you that you're messing with an element or a spirit when you're trying to do energy work and telling you to stop trying to do texture for a few days. So I told you both (lol)! I really don't know what's up with it...you're either letting it take control or actually dealing with a spirit or elemental of some kind. For you, I have a special assignment. Is this our second one for you, or am I just crazy? lol rofl
Kyou's Texture Lesson:
Sit at a desk or a table. Cut out a 1" x 1" sheet of paper. Bring up energy that "fills" this sheet of paper. Make it as tall as a quarter. "Peel" the energy off the paper and set it on the table. Now make texture grow out of it. Try several things, but the easy ones first like hair and carpet and pins. Then move on to sand and bigger lumps. Tell me how this goes.

._. I'm sorry I haven't been practicing much as I should, but I can't help it. It's been quite rainy lately, with some sinister clouds. And it's been advised, more than once, that playing around in that weather isn't a good idea.
I'll send updates as soon as I have them, and the weather clears up a bit ^^
[[not that I don't ADORE rain and stormy weather. It just gets annoying when I have nothing to report >>]]

Oh sweet, my own lesson!
Speaking of which I figured some of the problem in my basement might have been from not grounding completely, so I went down there the other day and focused on grounding all the excess energy in the room. Its still hard to work in but I kinda "drained" the extra stuff out so its not quite as stifling.
I hadn't thought about it possibly being a spirit or elemental. I'm not sure what kind it would be though. I haven't really been focusing on using elements because that seems to complicate things. So other than drawing my energy in a golden form the earth I haven't tried messing too much with altering the energy. I just kinda let it do its own thing, instead of telling it what to do. I don't really have a problem when I try to apply a specific element, but then again I usually fizzle out if I'm trying to do that. I'm not sure what the deal is, but if anything changes.
My only concern with the paper thing is that it may not want to go into a specific place because that may require it to be stationary, but I'll try anyway. I may start with a larger piece of paper first since I have more trouble making it small then I do making it large. What I did in my basement was I kinda made an energy drain in the floor like you'd have in a bathtub, and it kinda sucked everything into the earth to ground it, or at least thats what the plan was. I'll see if I can make a similar drain in the piece of paper to make it stay there.

Im on lesson two. I chose the earth, and I did the color green because thats how I usually am by default. It came pretty easily, but when I tried to do blue it didnt work as well. I had to concentrate harder. It was a ltitle easier when I tried silver.
Also, Im not quite sure what you mean by keep your findings in your bos. Is that like a journal?
As far as grounding goes, I have never done this. Since the incident where I pulled energy from a person, it just kind of, became part of my energy. The color just kind of shifted to what mine was at the time. And what happens when you don't have energy in you? Is it bad to ground yourself if you aren't practicing magic?
I did have difficulty adding texture. My energy balls usually only last a few moments if I'm not constantly adding energy to it. I guess they just disperse quickly. I did manage a pyramid, and I sticky ball. Pointy and hairy were a little too hard and sandy I coudnt quite get. I'll have to practice.

Kyou--YOU should be in charge of the energy, not the other way around. Make it do what you want--it's good practice.
And Castor--I'll add your name to the list. =) And yeah, a BoS is a journal. You should ground every time you do a magickal work. Ground after meditation, ground after a spell, ground after energy work. I've taken too much energy before and not grounded--BIG mistake. I had a headache for a long time afterwards! burning_eyes Anyway--don't move too fast. Work on your grounding and lesson 2 for the next week. You'll be burned out if you don't. Also, I want you to do some meditations. PM me if you need some ideas. 3nodding
Great job, you guys! Keep it up!

i have not worked on the next real lesson but i worked on the private lesson for kyou. The texture lesson. I got a peice of paper, 2"by2", charged it, and gave it a fuzzy texture. At first i had to be very close to feel anything, but i was not sure if i felt anything. I added more energy, and told it to grow. I could not feel it definantly and at a slight distance. It was kinda fuzzy. my fingures felt like i was gently stroking velvet. It was really warm, and tingly. So far that is the only texture i have been able to make.
As you know, i have to had problems with texture, and didnt think i would improve. But this proves otherwise. I shall practice more, and hope for more improvement...
edit:another texture i tried was pins, but i couldnt do it. I did not feel the sharp p***k of the pins, or the cool of the metal. I seem to have much truble with this texture.

Ok, I didn't try the paper thing yet but I was doing a circle last night for some other reason and decided to take the time to see if I could control some of the energy.
I got my ball going but once again it was spinning. I didn't try to put it on anything but thought that I might try to see if I could exercise some more control, so I tried to stop its motion and make it take a specific shape with more force than I have before. The result wasn't so good, stoping the circular flow made it begin to collapse and trying to force into a shape caused my palms to hurt. I think that putting it in the paper might still work though, and I'll keep on working on exercising more control with a bit more subtlety. I think if I slowly coax it then it will do what I'm asking. I think I'm just coming in too hard and too fast and its like "Woah buddy, back off for a bit."
