Agreed on most points except this.

Yes, at times she is mean, such as the time she flirted with Cloud right in front of Tifa and wanted to go on a date with Cloud
I fail to see how this makes Aerith mean. : / Tifa herself tells Aerith that she and Cloud are just friends and so Aerith has every right to flirt with Cloud. I mean flirting isnt against the law, and nobody's sueing Zack for it! xD But seriously if Tifa and Aerith switched places would you be saying the same thing? If you are gonna put the blame on anyone, it would be Tifa. If she isnt going to do anything why should Aerith have to wait? And even then Aerith isnt trying to be mean. She doesnt realize that Tifa is there when she is talking to Cloud in the cell. So maybe Cloud's the mean one for not including tifa. ; DI'm not condemning her or anything! The only point I'm making is that Aeris isn't a perfect and she'll have her flaws. Even though Tifa did say that they were just friends, she knew that Tifa had feelings for him. It was THAT obvious to everyone.
Yeah. If Aeris really thought Tifa didn't like Cloud, she wouldn't have been so surprised to know that when she asked Cloud for a date again when they were in those cells, that Tifa was there with him. She wouldn't have gotten so flustered, if she didn't know. x]
Not that I really MIND Aeris flirting with Cloud, but sometimes I thought she could've been more considerate. I don't think she tried to hurt Tifa, but sometimes I think she may have. : Xsorry to interrupt on this debate one year later (blame Foxy), but I'd like to add a point that I feel is overlooked in Aerith's flirting-as trivial as it probably is at this point in time.
Consider the parallel in Cloud's entrance on Aeris to Zack's (now thanks to Crisis Core). Now consider the reactions:
In crisis core-Zack fumbles upon Aerith to start flirting and one way or another - he's asking for a date.
Take the time line of Final Fantasy Seven into consideration to the end of Crisis Core. Cloud is suffering acute mako poisoning, small wounds (left for dead) and a massive sword near midgar when Zack dies. There's a montage of him walking through the desert - consider when FFVII actually starts.
It couldn't have been a couple of days-at most a few weeks after Zack's death with Cloud so close to Midgar with no food or water. In that retrospect - look at Aeris:
She knows her "platonic" love Zack has just died (this is evident in the ending of Crisis) and only a few days - maybe weeks after that knowing-
From the sky falls Cloud in exact replica of Zack. He talks like him- looks like him - carries the sword like him.
I think the flirting is a cute reminder of Zack - something the dark haired man in a sense taught her. From that perspective, although I can't find the right word for it cause "taught" is off, doesn't the flirting seem more innocent?
As for it carrying into the Don's mansion - Aeris didn't really have a grasp on what Cloud meant at that stage and she was just following up with Cloud on previous encounters - on a level maybe to just fit in with him, not knowing Tifa?
Bring up an inside joke almost? I don't know.
Other then that- I don't really recall any flirting Aeris participates in.
Just thought I might drag this back up to reach my goal. lol
