Agaio watched her, studying her expression as she pushed herself up above him. He fought the urge to pull her back down, but it was a hard struggle, and his chest was still heaving.
She smiled at some secret thought, and he thought he would pass out from desire. Good heaven, she was beautiful.
Then her expression fell, and he found her studying him just as he was studying her. There was a moment of silence, of nothing but their breathing. Then she asked the question.
He was silent. Then, with obvious reluctance;
"We should probably figure out how we're going to find Rani." He suggested without much enthusiasm. He didn't move, but awaited her consent, and wished that she wouldn't agree to hastily.

His answer hit her hard with the harsh reality she didn't want to remember, her first failure. She nodded, it was what they should have been doing, but if she couldn't find her how on earth were they going to catch up with her? "You're right," she sighed. She was perfectly content just laying here on him, but she was able to force herself to shift enough to unweave her leg from around him, now she was simply laying next to him laying on his chest looking down at him. "But how do you propose we do that? Where could she have gone? Not even my sprites could find her. And that could mean that something magical could have taken her, but we don't know this place enough to know what is and isn't magical." She sighed as she let herself fall against his chest again and rested her chin on her folded hands that rested just over his chest.
"Even if we started out blindly we have to wait for this storm to pass..." she muttered as she looked out the window, the snow had covered everything. She couldn't even see the differance between the trees, the ground, and the sky. It would be hopeless if they went off to search now. They would get lost, not be able to find their way back, and most certainly freeze to death or die of starvation if they are able to weather the storm.

She lay casually against him, touching him, speaking in that soft, sultry voice of hers, resting her head against his chest. It was impossible for him to think.
He was aware that she was making good points, but couldn't think enough to think what those good points were, and he was torn that she was ready to move on and torn that she was lingering, and his heart was pounding so loudly he was sure she could hear it and all he wanted to do was kiss her again.
He had to act. He sat, drawing her up with him, and moved away. He climbed to his feet and paced, restless, but, sadly, not on Rani's behalf.
"You lost a lot of energy looking for Rani. You need to get your strength up." He gestured to the stew cooling on the hearth. "You haven't eaten in days." He reminded her. He hoped it wasn't obvious that he was still aroused from their intense kiss.

She felt him move beneath her, and felt suddenly abandoned when he stood, leaving her there sitting on the floor leaning on her arm gazing up at him. He paced, like there was so much to do, when there was nothing to do. She listened to him, he had points, she hadn't eaten since that makeshift soup she made two days before. It wasn't until he mentioned it did her stomach softly rumble. She sighed. How was he so in tune with her?
"Alright," she said. She folded her legs about the ground and without the help of her arms she stood. She felt ,suddenly, naked as she noted the absence of her skirt. She gently bit her lip and walked over to the couch and grabbed one of the drier blankets and tied it about her waist like a sarong. Than with that she went to the fireplace and knelt beside the stew. "May you pass me two cups or bowls? Do we have any spoons here?" the stew smelled bannal, but it was food, and she did need some.

Agaio nodded to some dishes baside the fireplace, but didn't move any nearer her. He leaned against the wall and watched her every move, while at the same time pretending rather convincingly not to be watching her at all.
"I've already eaten. Don't worry about me. Feed yourself. You eat, I'll see if I have any luck locating Rani."
Now he moved across the room and grabbed his staff from where it leaned against the wall.

Lura went to spoon some stew into her bowl when he stated he was going to look for Rani. She was instantly up on her feet. "Did you not hear a thing I had said?" she asked in disbelief. "If you go out there you'll either freeze to death or starve should the frost spare you!" She was by his side is seconds blocking his way to the door. "I will not let you leave this house until the storm has past! You're no help to me or Rani if you die lost in the snow blizzard!" she had her hands pressed firmly on the door frame, her slender body blocking his way. He could easily push through her to the foyer and leave, but she prayed that he would stay.
She looked into his eyes, and deep in them she saw the restlessness. Something in the back of her mind told her that he wanted to leave, that he didn't want to be near her. She tried to suppress the thought, closing her eyes as she found herself trying to keep herself from shaking. He'd leave her? "If you wish to be alone, there are many rooms in the house." she stated as if with great effort. She was able to breathe again, opening her eyes and looking up to him, her face a mix of restraint, stubbornness, and a slight trace of pain. "Just sit and eat with me, we can go help Rani when we are able to go out, we obviously can't do anything for her alone, but together we can do more to help her."

Agaio stood where he was, holding his staff, and watched Lura with silent alarm as she jumped to conclusions and made a scene. Part of him wanted to defend himself. He wasn't really going to leave. He just needed some time alone. Alone...without her distracting him. He'd never be able to get anything accomplished if she was too close, tempting him.
Then he saw the fear in her eyes. He knew, suddenly, what she was afraid of.
Was she really that afraid of him leaving her alone?
"Lura." He wanted to laugh. He wanted to cry. He felt so helpless and restless. "I just...need to concentrate. I'm not going out in the storm." He spoke levelly, his eyes on hers.

She felt so foolish, had he not said 'ill see if I have any luck locating Rani'? She was suddenly so confused. She let her arms fall to her sides, stepping to the side to let him pass. "I..." no, she refused to finish, she just closed her mouth and silently walked past him to the other room. She wouldn't say she was sorry, that would prove herself to be wrong, to be a fool. She knelt by the stew once again and finished spooning the stew into her bowl. She silently took her bowl and walked to the couch, sitting on the couch and wrapping herself in the now slightly dry blankets, and started eating.
The stew was good, it wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either. She could eat it for more than one meal, and that meant something. She contently ate the stew, refusing to show any emotion that would state whether she liked the food or not, Agaio had already gotten so much out of her, she wouldn't give him any more...
But should he touch her again, she didn't know how long she would be able to keep to herself.

Agaio watched her try to compose herself with amusement. He wondered if it would help her feel better at all if he said that she actually looked really cute when she panicked. He decided against it, seeing her stubbornly regal expression. Maybe in the daylight she would be more playful.
He was definitely going to have to get used to the whole dual-personality thing.
He drew a pentagram on the floor and stood in the center. He murmured under his breath and pictured Rani. Rani. Rani...
But it was a little girl he saw, with long dark hair and a blue coat, dancing in the snow. And he knew this little girl...and he didn't.
And it was Rani...but it wasn't.
And then he saw water...a stream, a flower.
And the girl who was Rani, but wasn't, danced through flowered trees, laughing and singing until suddenly her song was cut short and she was gone.
Her sudden disappearance ripped a hole in him. He couldn't fathom it, but losing her was the most painful thing he'd ever suffered.
And there was a string, and a flower...and spring.
He dropped out of the vision out of exhaustion, flopping on the floor. He held his head, trying to clear his mind and understand. They needed to go back to spring. Something about spring. And a girl with a jacket. And...and...
He rubbed his temples, breathing slowly in and out, trying to catch his breath. How much time had passed? He had no idea. But it was still dark outside, and the storm still waged, and he was cold and exhausted.

Lura was well into her second helping of Agaio's stew when she heard a soft thud from just outside the room. She turned around and saw him on the floor. He looked exhausted, strained, pained, breathless. What had happened?
"Agaio?" she asked, trying to hide the alarm in her voice as she placed the stew down on the floor and briskly walk over to him and knelt beside him. "Agaio what happened? What did you do to yourself?" She didn't touch him, her hands hovering over him, tempted to comfort him, tempted to give in to him. But she simply took her hands back and placed them on her lap. "Are you ok?"

When Lura showed up, Agaio straightened up and made a big show of not really being that tired. "Success." He said breathlessly, a big...but tired...smile on his face.
"We need...we need to go to Spring." He rubbed his head with the heel of his hand, trying to push away the dizziness. "There's something in Spring that might help us."

Lura saw right through his act, one of those talents you know? And she only sighed and nodded, only until he finished talking. "You found her?"
"We need...we need to go to spring." he looked dizzy, she placed a hand on his shoulder, "There's something in spring that might help us,"
Lura was over come with the fact that he'd found something, and she had found nothing...and the sensation that flooded through her hand from contact to his skin. "Oh...but spring? thats where we started!" She found herself hurt, that he was stronger than her, that he was able to find the child and she was so powerless.
She sighed, standing, her hand using his shoulder as guidance up to her feet. She silently returned to the couch and sat there, not even touching the stew at her feet. She crossed her arms and pulled her legs up under her. How could he had found her? He just sat there, didn't do anything...
It was dark in the room, the snow outside made the dark night even darker, and the stew in the fireplace had blocked her from making a new fire. She didn't mind it, she liked the dark. It kept her hidden, seculded...yet also reviled her deepest secrets and desires...she tried so hard to hide them in that blackness.

(( Someone has a jealousy complex. XD ))
She didn't sound too impressed with him. He was disappointed. She sounded far more frustrated than impressed. Her frustration wore off on him, and when she had abandoned him, he took a moment to fume. She was so difficult! She wanted to find Rani, but was only frustrated when he found a clue. She wanted to kiss him...or at least he desperately hoped she did...yet she was happy to pull away once the kiss had been shared.
He wondered if he could get her to kiss him again. He wondered if she even wanted to. But she had to. How could she kiss him so passionately and then just move on?
This was exactly why he hadn't wanted to perform his seeking spell with her near. She had this power to command his attention. He hated that.
He moved back into the sitting room and found her curled up on the couch, practically glaring at the fire, which she was thoughtlessly allowing to die.
He rolled his eyes and sighed. "You could at least keep the fire up, if nothing else." He growled testily, moving forward and pulling wood from the stack of firewood. He moved the stew pot and carefully rebuilt the fire, taking inventory of how much wood they had. They had enough supplies for the two of them to survive maybe two more days, if the storm kept up like this. And once the storm let up, they were out of there. They couldn't let the trail get too cold. They had to find Rani.
They had to get along.
That was kind of hard to do, when Agaio was stuck between wanting to smack some sense into Lura and wanting to kiss her senseless.

(lol ^_^))
"You could at least keep the fire up, if nothing else." came Agaio's voice as he entered. She was suddenly angry at herself for jumping at the sound of his voice.
"I spaced out," she stated calmly. "Beside's i like the dark." was her answer. She let her legs stretch out on the couch. She turned from him as he started the fire, the blanket that she'd tied around her waist scratching against her legs. She was tempted to take it off, but thought twice when she remembered that HE was still in the room. She looked over her shoulder to see him working on the fire. His broad strong shoulders, those thick arms...She closed her eyes. How could he control her so easily, her emotions went hay wire at his touch. She turned away from him again; leaning her back up against the arm of the couch, her legs bent and her knees against her breasts.
She shivered slightly, she was about to mention how cold it was, only to stop herself. If she was cold, it would make him right to set up the fire...unless he warmed her...She once again looked over to him and bit her lip. He was an amazing kisser... and when he touched her, she was on fire.
No, she repremanded herself, she wasn't going to give into him. not now...They had to find Rani. But when she looked out the window and sat he blizzard raging she couldn't help but getting her mind mixed. They had a while before they could do anything... and they were in the dark...she was rather comfortable on this couch, it was late at night...
No, she repremanded herself once again. "I think it's late enough. We should get some sleep," she stated, seemingly out of no where. She stood briefly and untied the blanket from her waist, and was back on the couch in moments covered by the two blankets she had. "Besides, i'm tired..." she stated, rolling over so her back was facing Agaio and her face was up against the back of the Couch. She would not be weak around him. He can't be more powerful than she, she refused.

"I'm not stopping you." Agaio muttered when she mentioned sleeping. While she made herself comfortable, he did housework. He was restless. He didn't like being coped up, but he knew it was suicide to leave in this storm, and that made it even worse.
The company wasn't exactly fantastic either, he thought to himself as he boiled snow water and scrubbed dishes and unused blankets...and the chairs and footstools, and anything he could drag near the fire. Then, finally tired, he soaked a rag with the hot water and touched it against his cheek. He sighed at the comfortable warmth, slid off his shirt, and began to wash himself. He was covered in dirt and caked sweat. It was quite nice to feel clean again, though he had to sit right next to the fire so he wouldn't freeze to death in the cold. The warm, wet cloth was soothing. He ran the cloth over his chest simply for pleasure now, and was reminded of how Lura's hands had felt over his chest as they'd kissed. How she'd pressed herself against him...
He shook his head and wiped his face clean. He didn't need to be distracted by Lura right now. Now was a bad time to let passion overcome reason.
