{{note to everyone, the viewing deck of the Hawk is the top half of the purple glass part on the top of the pictured ship. The bottom half, seperate large part of the glass, is the cockpit.}}

"Olympus isn't breathing down my neck Darrin. Only Duga of the old guild, he's not happy my expulsion isn't dampening my work." Rannek commented with a slight laugh, tilting his head back to look at the roof of the viewing deck.

"Look I..." He paused and flicked the small yellow button that indicated someone was using the radio system. The two traders sat in silence, listening to the conversation being held between Gabriel and Arilam.

"Gabriel I'll open the small landing bay we'll sort through your junk later, along with the price for getting my girl running again." Rannek said straight into the wall mounted com-link.

After that Tenkyuu turned his attention back to his fellow trader; there was a lot to think about now. Two traders from Olympus, along with a mechanic a mercenary and not to mention the high-authority mage. What exactly was going on between the kingdoms? Rannek had his orders and half his payment for the assignment given to him from the Olympian Armada General, which he knew none of these people would approve of. Rannek gave a slight shrug of his shoulders to that idea, not really caring what these people thought. His boots slammed down onto the wooden finished deck and he stood.

"Welcome to the White Hawk Darrin." Rannek announced, clasping the man's hand tightly.

((Part two of two, also has a day passed? By my recollection, no, but I wanted to make sure in case I got that wrong. If I am, let me know and I'll correct my post))

Karawan's eyes were on the ground. It was as almost as if he completely forgot about home, and yet it had hardly been an entire day since his departure. He began to sweat from nervousness. How long have they been watching me? He stayed in that position, on one knee, until he heard someone speak. They were far enough away to be unnoticed by anyone, possibly even villagers.

Master Ketmet now stood immediately before him, and touched his head, signalling him to stand up. The High Mage began to walk deeper into the wood, Ketmet following. Karawan stood up and followed them, when the High Mage began speaking.

"Know you this wood, Karawan? This is the Wood of My Ancestors, the Proto-Forest, before our families went into the sky. There are many secrets here. Many truths that haven't been spoken since the Haze came and changed our world."

Karawan listened carefully, when the High Mage stopped walking.

"Our world, youngling, is in great peril. And you, unwittingly have walked into the middle of a great plot. Do you trust these new friends, these foreigners?"

Karawan thought a second. He didn't know if he trusted them, but he trusted them enough. There had been so much adventure in such a short period of time, and in all that time, he'd been saved twice.

"With my life."

The High Mage stood stoicly but Master Ketmet doubled back.

"What do you mean with your life? Your life?" Ketmet walked up to Karawan and looked as if he might have striked him. Karawan wanted to speak up, but could not without commiting a taboo. The High Mage then spoke.

"My Advisers, My advisers. It is futile to argue. Karawan cannot leave these people, not without endangering his cover. Karawan," he turned to face him, "the Grand Vizier of Metalcrafters has left us for Valhalla, the Causality is dissolved. Duat is now under potential attack from Olympus because of the Metalcrafters attack on their capitol. We are now in a state of force diplomacy, while also await the attack of Valhalla's Star. Out country is dissolving. I wonder, do these foreigners know that you are Duatian?"

"Yes," Karawan answered, "but they know me as Rhin, and as a teacher in training, not as a vizier." Suddenly, he felt bad about lying to them. "Lord Holiness, what should I do...do for Duat?"

"Continue with them, report to by sending pine word through the trees. Can you send Pine Word?"

"Yes, I've read up on the theory."

"Good. I see you seek Maidander and Progili. Not a..."

"No no, I'm creating the Emulsion of Daphne, to recharge an air orb."

"But this forest doesn't produce Malchia," Ketmet said.

"The captain, Mr...Sir Rodrick...yes, Sir Rodrick. He owns a Malchia farm..."

Master Ketmet followed the High Mage silently as they both walked away. Ketmet looked back and mouthed "you were always a bad liar." They walked toward a cypress not far from where they were standing, when the High Mage turned around and spoke.

"Karawan. Be vigilante. Keep these foreigners in your good humor. We may call on you to do a great work for our country."

As the High Mage and Ketmet made their way through the tree, Karawan fell back. He sat in a patch of Progili, and gathered it up, then ran back toward the camp, all the while thinking I must tell them...they must know...I need to know they can trust me...I need to know I can trust them...

"M'lady I do not believe that Duat is behind this plot. I agree with your thought on the over-throw of the Valhalla king." General Sheperd responded, many behind him held their breath, wish to speak but know better to hold their tongues.

"It is my understanding that if Lady Beate would go through such trouble as to fake her death and perform such an elaborate failure then she is in fact a danger to Olympus." The General was more speaking his thoughts then explaining them, "If a fool controls a nation the other nations live in safety knowing they can outwit that fool. However, sire, if the fool is removed and the nation is ruled with a hard hand and a clever mind....."

The General did not speak for a moment, trying his best to find the right words to describe the situation at hand, "...if a clever mind were to take control of Valhalla, Olympus may fall."

Again there was a noise from the General's crew, many of them showing fear upon their faces. To them if Joshuwan would ever consider the idea of defeat then the threat was indeed great.

Darrin smiled wide as Rannek took his hand. He couldn't help it. The guy was cool. He chuckled at the thought of him using the word cool. It just didn't fit Darrin Merl. But oh well. "If you'll excuse me, I must return to my ship to get some personal effects." He turned and began walking out of the room. "Oh and Rannek." He turned around to look his new companion in the face. "Thanks."

When he got to the Jackie Marie, he took some clothing and ammo, just in case. Also he took some extra money from his personal stash in his quarters. Then he went to the bridge and got onto the communicator for both of his ships. "This is Darrin calling the Jackie Marie and Pluto's Revenge. I will be taking an extended leave of absence. I don't know how long i will be gone, but until i return, Zain will be in charge of every aspect of the DTE."

He then looked to his second in command Zane. "If anything goes wrong, you let me know. But otherwise, i don't want you to contact me for any reason. Just sell. Do not get involved with this whole deal. Stay neutral at all costs."

"Yes, sir. Thank you."

"We'll talk soon, old friend," Derrik said as left the Jackie Marie and returned to the White Hawk.

The Floßhilde took off from the Michael's docking bay and quickly spun up and out of the passing warzone, to the west toward Duat, and up up into the highest reaches of the Stratosphere. Andora performed augments to the jet machinery as they climbed higher and higher, well outside the reach of radar. Outside, it appeared as if they were sinking into knight, when in fact they perched along the edge of space and atmosphere. Beate was strapped down to the throne now, but the feathers danced elegently in the absence of gravity.

Andora radioed from the bridge, saying, "Your Majesty, we have a hailing from His Lordship the Grand Vizier of Metalcraft, Lord Ampedwin."

Beate answered. "Please patch him to my visual feed."

"Your Majesty."

"Your Lordship."

"How does your Majesty delight in our attack on Olympia. We most certainly gave Queen Pandor—"

"I do not delight in it at all. Your bad blood with Olympia is not the concern of Valhalla. You attacked my Cousin's kingdom without my consent and that act lays on your head, Your Lordship." The Grand Vizier sat back in his chair, upset and disappointed when Beate continued speaking. "If the Metalers on Duat wish to join my new Kingdom, they will do as I instruct them. Any other action against Olympia will be an act against me, and then I cannot promise you protection from that fanatic Osiris and his plans."

"Yes Your Majesty."

"Now, Lord Ampedwin, you will take your garrison of Metalcrafters to Odmil within the next two hours and meet Lord Thorik Lokiago. He will give you orders from there. You will strengthen my ships, and file under the current hierarchy. I'm making you Lieftenant of my Left Guard, under Lord Lokiago. Do we have an understanding? You are not a mercenary, but a defect to my approching Kingdom."

Lord Ampedwin nodded as Beate switched off the channel. She radioed Andora to ask her to leave the Metalers from Duat more instructions, and then returned to the visual feed.

After a few moments, she patched through, right to the Bridge of the Zeus.

"My Godmother Queen, I humbly request an audience." She clicked her fingers on her cold metalic throne while the Floßhilde skipped across the troposphere.

Arilam sat in thought as the conversation between the two other mercs ended. He didn't like how the number of the group was growing. Any more people, and the group would become too conspicuous to move quietly through Valhalla at the rate things were moving. In the end, if things became too hectic, Arilam would have to leave the group.

As for the object he needed to steal, Arilam was worried. He knew that an object considered dangerous by the Queen would be well guarded. If worse came to worse, he might even have to detroy the thing, whatever it was. "This trip is really becoming bothersome. If this mess keeps its current status, there'll be all out war by the time I get to whatever it is I need to steal."

But, those troubles could wait until later. For now he needed to fix the ship, and keep the Twin Fruit safe, for the sake of the potion Rhin wanted to make. The new merc ("What was his name... Darrin?") seemed trustworthy enough. Or at least he was straightforward about his intentions. It seemed that, before anything else, he might need to use Rhin's potion of Rannek, instead.

Arilam hopped off the deck onto the sand and walked over to the Ninth Gate. It seemed like he had fixed everything to his specifications. The large air orb that Gabriel had brought with him looked like an appealing addition to his bike, but he didn't need the distrust of his current comrades at the moment.

He straddled the bike, testing the feel, before flying it back to the White Hawk and docking it. "There's too much to do. Seems like this mission is getting more and more complicated. Can't worry about that now though."

Arilam walked out of the bay, ready to help Rannek and Gabriel finish the repairs on the ship.

((Okay, I finally created Pandora's profile))

"Hmm. Yes, this is true," the queen sighed, rubbing her temples. "It seems that the reason Valhalla could never truly win over us was because that fool Heimdall was too... poetic in his actions. Like in this battle, it would appear that he wished to rile us up. Make us want to send the full force of our fleet, so he can use this secret weapon of his to attack our fleet and destroy it all... if it really is as capable as it is supposed to be."

Pandora once again began to pace, arms crossed. "However, if Beate was to take control, no doubt she would prove to be a much more cunning adversary. Not unlike old Osiris, really, but less honorable in her actions."

"The thing is, Beate could not have completed this complex manuever or begun this plan without the aid of some large number of reinforcements. Also, to successfully shy away from a battle like that, she would have needed some high ranking military officer to escort her away quietly. Someone who also wishes to dethrone the King. But with the king's current rule as a basis, the number of canidates to chose from would be endless."

"Ach. Plans within plans within plans," Pandora moaned, shaking her head. Her head tilted as she heard the approach of an officer. "Hmm? Yes? Some new development?"

"Ah, um, my lady. It seems we're recieving a direct transmission from a distance away. From a small carrier between here and Duat. The woman on the com is requesting the audience of... 'the Godmother Queen.'"

Pandora's eyes widened, "Ah, how strange and convenient." She turned toward the screen showing the face of Joshuwan. "It seems we may have the opportunity to answer more questions than we previously thought. Let us see if we can't muddle our way through the predictions and get to the truth, shall we? I don't think you've had the opportunity to meet my cousin yet, have you General?"

Another screen flickered to life adjacent from the face of Joshuwan. A beautiful young woman with red hair, wearing a great black gown appeared, and the crew gasped. "Ho, it seems the peacock is preening its feathers," Pandora chuckled. "Are you celebrating the death of yourself? You'll forgive me if I don't feel like giving a eulogy, I hope, dear Beate."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 25, 2007 11:30 pm

A devious smile crept across Beate's face. She could see not only Pandora, but in the screen behind her, a rather delicious looking sky captain.

"My Godmother Queen, Cousin Pandora, how lovely to see that you yourself aren't loss on worldly pleasures. Is that your consort? I know you are only two years older than me, but he's practically ancient."

She unlatched herself from her seat, and began to float about the cabin. The absence of gravity made her appear as a ghost, the elegant black dress floating on the ground while her pale, white face shimmered in the glow of low-space. She floated closer to the visual feed, so her head was closer to the screen. She held it in her hands and floated off the ground, her dress flowing down and rippling with her movement. It was as if she was swimming through water.

"I'm sure you've shared your fair deal of theories, and I come to quell them. If my well executed ruse with the Rhinemaiden did anything, it was to show my father that I am dead, and show my dear Cousin that I am alive."

Her face glowed and the closer she got to the screen, the more eerie her face became. Her voice echoed and she sounded rather metalic and cold.

"The Valhallan assault was not an assault made by me, but by my father and my brother Bernhart. If all goes right, by midnight tonight, Bernhart will be...taken care of."

She winked, and waved over to the sky captain, blowing him a kiss.

"I do not want war, Pandora. I want my throne. My little brother has been unfairly loved, and I have been exiled for far too long. Now, I've had my royal geneologists write you into my family, I've created a diversion for my father, and I've amassed a sizable and secretive garrison. But I will not win this war, not with what my father has."

She smiled, looked behind her, and quited her voice, as she began sharing her secret.

"I'm sure you've heard of it." She whispered. "The Epiphany Charger."

She floated back to her seat, elegantly, and sat down on the throne. Andora walked in, removed her feathers, and replaced them with a saphire and black gold coronet, a diamond hanging in the middle of her forehead. Andora then handed Beate the Priscilla, when she placed it on her lap.

"My Cousin, My Godmother Queen. I want and..." Beate paused, and put her heart to her chest before speaking again. "I want and I beg for your help. Let us crush my wicked father."

She crossed her legs, and waited for Pandora's response.

Joshuwan watched the woman, holding back his sharp response, knowing to well he needed to hear what she spoke of. Though when she blew the kiss his hand lept to the hilt of the sword strapped to his hip, even though his rations mind told him there was no way he could strike her down with the blade. His hand remained there through the rest of her speech, knuckles white from lack of blood.

"I suggest you spit to clear your mouth of her venom my Queen." Joshuwan snarled.

After hearing the princess speak of the Epiphany Charger Joshuwan couldn't help but smile. He knew full well that not only one, but two plans were in place to destroy the weapon. Though by all reports both men were now working together, Sheperd was unsure of how that would eventually turn out.

"I would advise my Queen that we mearly allow these fools to destroy each other." Joshuwan advised, no longer offering even a glance to the other screen.

"Right, lets just cut through all the bull Gabriel. I'm going to offer you twenty thousand for the orb your carrying along with free transport to where-ever your going." Rannek announced when he and Gabriel were finally face-to-face, "It's a better offer then you'll find in most places, not to mention you'll be saving maintence costs on lugging that thing somewhere on your bike."

Rannek was trying to think through everything that was going on. He need Gabriel to help repair the ship, he needed Arilam to help him get into Valhalla. The mage though..... the thought gave Rannek Tenkyuu pause, the mage was the one person in this growing crew that he did not really need. If the boy got back before they finished installing the air-orb then Rannek would take him along. If the mage never made it back, well he'd best hope he likes lower earth. That inner thought caused Rannek to laugh aloud, walking along the decking with his fellow traders and more then likely offering odd faces toward his sudden outburst.

Karawan galumphed through the forest and toward the docking bay. So many conflicting feelings were running through his head. He'd never had the heart for war, and couldn't stomach the thought of going home anymore, back to his father, or his station in the Vizieriat. This growing war was become more than anyone could handle, and now the High Mage was personally traveling and intercepting him in a forest that he himself did not know about. Maidander was kept only in the most scared of gardens on Duat. Of course the High Mage would have access to them, but why would he travel to a tree on lower earth?

Karawan ran out of the dark wood directly in front of the White Hawk. He made for the inside with the herbs in hand, got onto the ship. Walking down the corridors, he passed Rannek and the man he was talking to, paying little attention to them, and kept walking until he found Arilam.

He barged into the room in which he was standing and spoke urgently. "Airlam, I need to speak with you."

Darrin immediately found a nice quarters upon returning to thw White Hawk, and began unpacking. "I'm sure Rannek may not like me making myself at home. Well, I'll deal with that when the time comes. I guess I'll go ask for permission to tour the ship. Maybe get to know its occupants better."

WHen he had finished unpacking, he proceded to where he had last seen Rannek. On his way, however, he heard someone speaking in a room to his right. He stopped outside the door to listen to the conversation. "Not eavesdropping. I was already here," he thought.

Gabriel's jaw dropped at the offer. "Twenty thousand!?!" he exclaimed. Gabriel could expand his shop and hire employees. Heck he could build a small ship yard. Gabriel eyes went distant as he though of the possibilities. "You've got yourself a deal" Gabriel said with a smile.

He pulled his tools out of his bike and loaded himself down with all he could carry. "Where's the engine room?" he asked as he put a small device on the loose air orb. The orb started floating a few inches above the ground and rotated lightly. The tools on Gabriel made him look like kind of monster but he was ready for every possible scenario. From a loose bolt to a complete engine rebuild.

Arilam had grown bored with the conversation between the two traders and moved back to the bay, where he was fine tuning the Ninth Gate. He needed it to be working at maximum efficiency, in the occation that he would need to carry the Valhallan weapon all the way back by himself.

Arilam glanced often at the Twin Fruit, which was once again sitting in a window, soaking in the sun. He needed it to remain safe if the potion Rhin wished to make was to be done properly. Arilam sighed and layed down on the floor, staring at the ceiling. He wondered if the battle over Olympus was over yet, if Ilium was still standing or a pile of rubble. "That will make this mission much more complicated, that's for sure."

Arilam turned in surprise at Rhin's sudden outburst as he burst into the room. Standing up and noticing his panicked expression, Arilam thought to himself, 'He hasn't snapped, has he? I know Lower Earth can be disorienting, but still.'

Standing up, he brushed himself off and noticed the herbs. "Oh? You've got everything already? Are you ready to make the potion, then?"

Pandora sat back into her "throne" as she listened to Beate's and Joshuwan's statements. While she did care for her dear cousin, she certainly didn't enjoy dealing with her attitude toward others. 'It seems that the greatest thing she was inheritted from Heimdall was his egotistical love of being superior. Hopefully, she doesn't consider herself a god amongst her subjects as he does.'

"Calm yourself, General," Pandora sighed, turning to the angered face of Joshuwan. "There is no point in becoming flustered in debates such as these. Anger tends to lead to unnecessary bloodshed when invoked in such a place as politics." She let the word slide off her tougue grudgingly.

"As for the matter of letting these two destroy each other, such an action cannot be done. With a power struggle of this magnintude, it is certain that even if we avoided the conflict to our best extent, we would no doubt still become a victim of the consequences revoked by such actions."

Turning back to the screen emitting Beate's face, Pandora rested her head on her hand before continuing. "I've heard of this weapon Heimdall created, yes... the Epiphany Charger, you called it? But I'm sure you would have guessed that I have already created plans to do something about it. Yet here you are, requesting my assistence in your family squable. It seems that you place a great deal of trust in my willingness to help you with this plan of yours, dear Beate. Blood bonds run strong, but this is most certainly not enough to assist one like yourself in such a bold action. Therefore, you must believe that this Epiphany Charger of Heimdall's is something truly fearful."

Pandora sat up again, and smiled, at the screen. "Perhaps you can explain to me what exactly this Charger is, and why it would require such great extents to defeat? Listen well, dear General," she said, turning back to Joshuwan's image. "This may give us incentive to assist, after all."
