if you are referring to what I think you're referring to then the answer is simple, a few weeks ago a pair of now ex-members came together under the umbrella of an innocent third member's RP and decided to be utter assholes, the end result, poor thirdy's RP was run into the ground, and those two were banned from the guild, despite being long term members with between them almost a thousand posts (I say that last bit to further impress upon anybody that reads that NOBODY IS ABOVE JUSTICE). Furthermore we found that this pair's activities were in violation of the ToS, so we reported them and shortly after their avatars went naked.

The moral of the story is that while it's ok for a character to be a d**k, it is not ok for You to be a d**k.

I have a question about dealing with posting rates.

I love RPing, but I'm also a college student and a physics major, which means I don't have huge amounts of free time.

It often seems like no matter what level I choose, most of the RPs move so fast I get left behind or forgotten. It really isn't fun because I want to be part of the story, but whenever something intersting happens, I have homework.

I don't think I'm that short on time...I can usually manage with one multi-paragraph (2-5+) post a day, or about an hour and a half of live, short, 2-3 sentence posting.

Does anyone have any tips on either getting groups to slow down or picking RPs that will run slow, even before the RP starts?

First off I'd suggest you find people in similar situations with similar dedication, form your own group and run RPs with each other in mind

Second, one multiparagraph post a day is way better than most people, maybe you just need to play your character more aggressively, put them deeper into things

If an RP is open but still pending on more people to join, can it still be upgraded to level 2 or 3 to see if there will be more general interest there?
When I posted my RP someone told me it was obscure so I thought maybe if it would be moved to a higher level of literacy sub-forums it would catch on better.

We prefer to keep all new RPs in the main forum until they are established, being in any of the other forums seriously cuts down on visibility and early in the levels system's history a lot of RPs died because they were moved too early. If you're sure you want your RP to be judged early we can do that but we can't guarantee level 2.

well, in terms of keeping things in order i'm fairly sure i did ok because i always keep everything organised (i'm just like that) and by the way don't mind the way i'm writing here because i only take my writing seriously if i'm RPing. If you have the time to take a look then here's my RP, namely PSYЯEN - The World After

I can't say I would put that in level 2, all in all it just seems a little thin, but that's just me. I can however almost guarantee it would get moving better if it was in the main forum instead of Level 1, I can move it there if you'd like.

yeah, the main forum would also be nice. if you think it would go better there then i'll take your owrd for it but i just want to know one thing, what exactly about it is "thin"? if you mean thin as in post-less then i know that it is, that's why i want it moved where it'll find more interest in people

Alright, well when it comes down to making my roleplay I think my biggest problem is making the "universe" it's in.

Currently that problem is brought to a different level now with my Sci-fi Rp I'm trying to make. For the most part I was planning on keeping the characters on a ship with occasional stops on other stations/planets, but I suck at creating the world or how I should make the stations/planets like.

Suggestions?

best advice I have for you is to take things one at a time, and first think about if it even matters

How do you know what 'level' your roleplaying is at?
How can you find out what 'level' you are at?

I would like to know what 'level' I would be considered to be at.
The only samples I have are posts from RPs I have been in.
