Caden raised an eyebrow at what he saw. Just seemed like another other room that would belong in a temple. Though the altar seemed a bit different than what he has seen. Well the race that did live here were a strange bunch so things would be more different than they seem. When Shyrae stopped him from going in Caden paused and looked back at her with a small smile. "It was the first thing I've noticed. I bet it was set up like that mainly for dumb thieves that stumble onto this place. But don't worry I'll be careful." But he appreciated her concern for his well being, it was nice. With the warning now fresh in his mind Caden walked inside with the drow and began to look off somewhere else when the elf said something. Walking over to her the guardian took the cloth with the shard in it and studied it carefully. "I think so, maybe we can check with the others when we meet together again."
But it seemed the room had another idea as voices started to be heard and some odd writing appeared on the walls of the room. Caden blinked and drew his sword just incase then turned to the elf again. "Do you think you can read what's on the wall?" He asked as his ears tried to make sense of what was being said to them. Then all of a sudden Eilynne explaing what was literally on the wall. "Oh so that's what it is...that's nice to know." So away went his sword and then he stared at the shard again. "Well I can't use magic so I guess I cannot use it?" It was something to find one of these shards, at least they actually found one.

She blinked as for a moment they seemed to fumble around like human teenagers might over such a moment. "I do like it, it's beautiful. You seem to have an eye for such things. A woman can appreciate that." And yet it seemed he only had his little fashion revelations when he was around her and it was in reference to her. Maybe hse was looking into it too hard, and it was just a coincidence since she hung around him. Jae really had to stop thinking like this. "Well...let's find out if you're right." Gently taking it from him, after all no harm in trying thins long as they were respectful, and thusly trying the headdress on, being careful of her horns a moment before looking to him as a feather or two settled against her cheek. "Well?"
He fell to his stomach as she tumbled away and into the water, leaving him on the ground at the side of the pool of water. Or at least what they thought was water. "It's not too littles, you're too bigs." Scooting forward till he plopped in, flailing lightly a moment before awkwardly swimming a little. "It's tingly like bubbles."
She rolled her eyes. "Oh yes, always a gift when you do share my bed." Setting her hands to her hips and shaking her head. "Yes just like you occassionally sleep with ther women besides myself and I don't rail you about it. Take it as a good thing, Toby." Slicking her hair back from her face, at least the strands that had fallen and started below deck. "I don't know we we have enough to go around this time, I hadn't planned to need extra but it seems that way."
As the others proceeded onward she still remained on the open balcony, though Chylithair seemed to be getting more agitated by the moment and his glancing was getting her attention, especially as he even started to peck at her hair in effort to alert her that something was not right. A dull whoosh or two made her ears twitch and she turned to lean on the balcony railing as if she was looking for that noise, though she was really listening. Something in the air maybe? "Calm yourself Chylithair..."

Wonderful. three more traps, and ten more feet. five feet to go and he could grab at the stuff on the table. this had so better be worth it. but the walls around him came to life as well, and that wasn't good. scribing in who knows what language. great. just damn great.
Desdemona narrowed her eyes on the little woman, and glanced at the shard.
"the same way we focus our breath weapons, I imagine. concentrate, move the gases and powers in you to the proper alignment that you need, and then let it fly with a particular target or thing in mind. am I in the vicinity? adn I don't laze about all day. if you'd left me on my proper ship, I wouldn't be dealing with that wench of a captain."
growling lightly there..before she heard the swooshing sound as well. that didn't sound good. sounded too much like large wings.
Mister Richards glanced at Malik's direction.
"No. but are you sure you see that and it's not some trick of the sands and light off the salt? I don't see anything.."
but he did call over to the Claw.
"any of you notice a blue shaded dragon in the skies?"

And it was his turn to be surprised again. "I do? In military organization and tactics perhaps, not art and fashion." He gave a nod that could be interpreted as modesty and then watched her take the headdress from him. She was going to try it on? He had his reservations about that but at least he knew that she took great care in such things as well, making sure everything was handled gently and carefully. "It's beautiful." Blinking as if he was surprised at his good taste and then lifting a hand to straighten out some beads that hung by her face. "I think it could be remade when we get back to Ilindal. Not with the same quality of materials of course, but I've seen some stores that sell such trinkets when we walked around together."

Shyrae shook her head. "That's a language more ancient than me. I wouldn't have the slightest idea what they were saying even if it wasn't flashing and I might be able to read it." She glanced at the altar and then at Eilynne before setting the shard back on the altar. She had a feeling it had something to do with that.
Eilynne's relaxed position never faltered. "Had you listened when I freed you, we wouldn't even be having this discussion right now. I didn't kick you off of your ship to use your words, so that you could roost on another. You were to make yourself useful and go and search for shards. If you didn't find one in one atoll, then you should have flown to another." She walked over to the large window in the room and then whispered the language on the wall. The heavy curtain shifted to the side and the sunlight was immediately focused through the glass window to shine directly onto the altar and illuminate the shard which began to sparkle and shimmer with various colors.
"When in doubt, use the light." She paused a moment then frowned. "The Riders are coming." Glaring at Desdemona. "For your defiance I should toss you to them. It would be a fitting fate for your misplaced loyalty and slothful ways."
She splashed around in the liquid for a moment and then kicked her feet. "Makes me want to giggle." She could see various shapes appearing everywhere she disturbed the liquid. There were many dragon forms but then other animals began popping up as well. Tigers, panthers, birds and even some that she didn't know what they were. "We've gots friends."
"Worn by a warrior queen just as fitting as you, Jaebelltiah." He gave a nod to Kaznec and calmly walked into the room glancing around. "This has always been one of my favorite rooms in this temple. Every weapon in existence just about can be found here. A few more are locked away since this plane isn't quite ready for them yet but that's another story altogether." He nodded to the spear. "Feel free to take something each of you. You've both been monumental to our search and we appreciate all you've done." He frowned a moment and shook his head. "Riders..."
Thobias merely chuckled, "Of course. How dare I forget taht I too am guilty of such a thing." Following her below deck and starting to shift through supplies. He didn't much care if there was another dragon in teh skies personally. There were plenty on the ship, maybe they could meet up and hunt or something. "If we ration carefully we might make it out. We'll have to cut back on certain things Galley is fond of but he can stretch a hunk of meat farther than most. Good man, Galley."

The crew that was left on deck looked over at Mister Richards' calling and then looked among each other. " 'een nothin' o'er this way Mister Richards. Thoug we ain't exactly 'een lookin' skyward." Thusly looking up. "Need we be worryin'?"
Okay there was certinally something going on around her and she didn't like it at all. Almost sounded like something big, but turned out that it wasn't. Though at the sound of something heavy sitting down on stone, she turned lightly and if she could see, her eyes would be sitting on a small, well ten feet was small for a creature such as thus, sky blue dragon wearing riding tack. Said dragon was staring back at her, though was sans rider.
"It's like a pictured book but they move and change without the pages moving." Though he shook his head, snuffing some as if there was liquid in his nose. "The water makes me feel funny on the insides." And he promptly sneezed.
"You underestimate yourself." He really did sometimes...somtimes it was as if he wasn't aware of his own words. It was an endearing quality really if anything. A smile at him though as he continued in his compliment...though the complient wansn't for her was it? No it was for the item she was wearing. Shouldn't think like that Jaebelltiah, you'll get your feelings hurt. But she couldn't help the smile at him as he moved to fix a piece of two of the headdress. "I could probably mock something up." Beofre a light jump at Rahsaveer more or less catching them...but his words only made her smile all the more.
"I hardly would call myself by some such title. Queens are far more everything than I am." And barely containing the excitment as he suddenly gave them leeway to have an item each. If Kaz wasn't screaming like a school child on the inside before, he probably was now. And of course she moved over to indeed take that spear. Wanted something she knew she was going to use and not just take apart. Some things you didn't need to take apart. But the smile faded with the one word. "Riders? What about them?"
"Means no more muffins but I suppose we can deal. I certinally can't send any of the crew out into the saltbeds not knowing if a nomad tribe is nearby. I fear sending the dragons because of the riders." Kicking a barrel. "How come everytime I go near Hunter we always end up in a mess. Who says women are bad luck on a voyage, I think it's the opposite."

Caden gave a light shrug to Shyrae and smiled a little bit. "Well it doesn't hurt to ask right?" Though he watched as the shard left him and went back to the altar via the drow and the guard couldn't help but stare at the little thing for a moment before turning to the little lady when she opened the curtains to allow some light to shine on it. "So if I was to use that now...I could fly or something?" Just throwing it out there, he never used magic once before except for the odd weapon or item so he had to tread around the subject carefully.
But he blinked in surprise when told that there were dragon riders coming. "Oh...crap." Cue sword being drawn again and looking toward the door. "We do not need these guys right now." Did he hate riders? Yes of course he did. What they did to the dragons made him so pissed off, actually on one occasion they were able to grab a rider who came to Ilindal to nab one, they were that daring. He hated the b*****d right off the bat and never liked any rider from that moment on. "Lady D'vinn! Is everything alright out there?" He asked. Why? Well open balcony that was almost one of the highest places in the temple, a rider could easily make their landing there. But of course Caden didn't waste any time getting to the door of the room, they did not need some person barging in at the moment. Still with the magics that Shyrae had riders could be a crafty bunch, never should one be taken lightly.

Well alright, he could live with that. Modest he was, but not self-deprecating. If she said so then he trusted her opinion. "I was thinking that as well. Come to think of it, there are many things I would like to do when we return." But those thoughts and his bare smile were quickly shattered as Rahsaveer appeared, warning in stride. He had allowed himself to glance over the walls again at the invitation to take something, quite excited no doubt since these were Laerethe artifacts. The ruby pendant at his neck had already been a gift from Rahsaveer and yet here was another opportunity... But at that name, his attention swung back quickly, mind echoing Jae's questions. "They're coming?"

Eilynne knew of Caden's hostility towards her words and while she foudn it foolish and ill-spent, said nothing. What would the human think if he knew he was standing in the very womb of the race he hated so deeply? What would his reaction be if he knew that her kind had formulated, trained, and more or less created the Riders and their ways? She still remembered when this temple had been alive with eggs held at lukewarm as the process was tested, perfected, and then taught. The donor dragons had been slaughtered shortly after but they were each evil in various ways, following a leader who had long ago turned far past corrupt himself. "They live and die out here, Guard. Who are you to say they cannot have their home?"
"No. It works more with the natural energy of the plane and you can't harness that either, Caden. You would need natural ability of your own or something far larger to balance the power. If the orb was put back together, chances are you'd be able to manipulate it. I assume there was some sort of processing or transference in place when the orb was shattered and the pieces stolen?" Said only as she'd assessed the situation and figured out where things were coming from and how it all worked. Fascinating stuff, actually. "Riders?" Not a clue what they were all talking about though she had heard the term before.
"Maybe it's nots to drink?" She hadn't swallowed any herself but she was splashing around and playing in it. "Blesses you!" she called out with a giggle then leaped upon her brother. "You okays?" She paused a moment as she heard hte beating of wings and her eyes widened. "...Daddy?"
Standing silent as he confirmed what had been steadily moving towards them, he shook his head gravely. "Not coming. Here. You two need to be very careful though they shouldn't bother you. Kaznec the crest you wear will keep them from touching you and as long as you keep Jaebelltiah out of their sights, all will be well. Jaebelltiah, this is very important. You must stay out of their sights. You coloring is too exotic and you'd present a very large temptation." He didn't tell her that he suspected she was one of the dragons that had been 'hatched' by the Riders. Her size, lack of blades, and scales only added to his suspicion. Even if she didn't fit the canon description completely, it was close.
He let her rant and rave, aware that once she got her anger out she'd be back to her pirate wench self. "Men are trouble all around, Jewel. Don't you know that by now?" He scribbled down a few more supplies and then shook his head. "The only thing we could do is send someone to a port with some of the gems and barter for supplies. Since you don't like the Laerethe and the dragons aren't safe, the elves have winged horses. Perhaps they would be our saving grace?"

Desdemona snarled at the little lady.
"Want to throw me to the Riders, fine with me. damnable little women and their damned issues..."
stomping out of the room, in tim to see a light blue dragon with no rider on it. great. but she ignored that, and moved tot eh balcony and jumped. Desdemona was an old dragon, probably closer to Lycear in age than Kanzec..and had the impressive size to match. a full grown great wyrm. and a bronze one. she tranformed to her full dragon form, and was probably about half a size bigger than Kanzec. her shining bronze scales reflected light, and her huge ram horns were added to with spines and horns along her back and jaw. her tail was spaded, like a great massive axe, adn she gave a loud, defiant roar.
Hunter glanced up, hearing the roar, and gave a long pause...before reaching out and snatching severla easy to grab things off the table. hell if he knew what they were capable of, but that was beside the point. and out the door he went, moving up and out with a bag of treasure on one large shard of his own from the same table. wether or not it was the kind they were looking for he didn't both to check.
"Oh dragon types....I think we have company!"

Taking the headdress off she had set it to the shelf where Kaz had gotten it and turned her attention back to Rahsaveer as he issued his warnings. "You mean they're here already." And now came the anxity of it all and she stepped closer to Kaz a moment. A mostly nervous nod to the Laerthe as he issued specific warning to her for her color, or rather lack thereof. "I'll be careful..." Though she did look around as a very dull yet familiar sound seemed to come from above, letting amber eyes turn back to Kaz. "Should we head back to the ship, or tuck away in the temple till they go?"
Her attention turned from the hot breath on her face to the shouting of her name, which was half incomplete. It was that human boy...inconsiderate humans, did they remember anything at all? Everything was fine as far as she was concerned and she reached out a hand to the stream of hot air that came in the form of breaths in front of her, touching her palm to it's snout, fingers feeling the leather strapping that crossed over it. "Reins...on a..."She knew that feel, "...dragon..." But...no rider. Took her all of two seconds to have a blade in hand and listening for where said being would be.
Though her hearing would do her no good for the moment as a roar tore through the air and drowned out everything around her. Next thing she knew she was being pelted aside from the swipe of a dragon's claw before something more human jumped her as she was down. Quick burst of necromantic energy solved to let her get herself up. But a second later she assumed whomever owned the sky blue wasn't happy with her touching it as her back hit the balcony railing. Quick twist of chains around her oppoents wrist in fluid motion, and she had one human danglin over that railing in the air, her free hand holding onto the railing to keep herself from bring yanked down as well.
He fell as she jumped on him, but recovered quickly and floundered to teh side of the pool, pulling himself halfway out before his ears perked as well at the various sounds going on. "You think?" Getting the rest of the way out and helping his sister out before starting to pull her along, their little ball of light friend momentarily forgotten and they made motion to investigate. But he stopped and ducted at the sudden roar. "That's not daddy!"
"I just feel the need to say it from time to time." Perching on a barrel, she sighed. She was starting to feel miserable and it didn't help her mood. In fact it made for fun mood swinging. Though at least she was still considering things. "I didn't say I didn't like them, I said they may not like use or may see us as dependent. But those horses may indeed be of help. I'm not saying we need help yet I'm just trying to consider all of our options." Looking up then to the deck above at the sound that made their surroundings vibrate some. "Didn't I specifucally tell them not to transform?!" Thusly heading up to catch what was going on....oh she could kill that woman. "What is she doing attracting attention like that?! We can't leave here, we're not ready and we're under supplied. Is she trying to force us from into the sands?! I'm skinning her and selling her hide for this! Mister Robins, put our remaining crew on alert for riders. They come near my ship and shoot them dead!"

Fingers touched the pendent at his neck briefly, the telltale signs of a frown deepening on his face as a thundering roar shook the ground above. He hadn't had an encounter with the Riders since last century and all of a sudden, here they were again. He glanced down to Jae as he felt her unease mirror his own, then turned eyes back to the Laerethe. "The others aren't ready for this. The ships are hardly repaired and the crew is probably dispersed inside the temple searching for supplies and other luxuries." And thus the issue presented itself. What was he to do? Theoretically he was not only responsible for himself but for the entire group as well. But how much aid could he truly offer? He could see the tension etched onto Rahsaveer's face and he had a feeling that not even the Laerethe could guarantee their safety right now. Briefly, he wondered if the crest would keep the Riders from harming Jae if she were the one wearing it instead. "If they are already here, you can't risk exposure by returning to the ship. I'll stay with you in here." Turning golden eyes now flecked with pale orange back to Rahsaveer, he nodded. "I understand the situation but keep us informed and tell me if there's anything I can do."

He glanced between the dragons and was silent for a moment, merely listening. There was much going on right now and he couldn't guarantee anyone's safety. Riders...they posed dangerous threats to the dragon kind still with them. He knew that their original purpose had been served but their activities hadn't ceased. When the group had been created, they weren't meant to continue on a large scale past the time Grisharne and his followers were destroyed. "Stay under cover and remember, the pendant should keep them from bothering you if they enter the temple but if you find yourself in a bind, rub the surface and whisper my name." He gave a nod to both and quickly moved back out of the room, heading up into the upper levels.
Eilynne shook her head and took a deep breath. Pointing at Shyrae, she commanded. "The other elf requires your assistance. Stay with her and keep her safe and take that with you. I'll take care of this little problem." She disappeared from the upper balcony and reappeared into the room with the pool, just missing the children as they exited. "Areesa. Go find out what's going on. Report back to me as soon as possible."
She turned to the pool and began moving her hands in a special pattern, runes along the outside lighting up and the same archaic writing appearing all around it. Images began to flash in the liquid and she watched, selecting one and pulling the mirror off from around her neck. Reflecting the image into the glass, she replaced the mirror and left the temple. Standing on the salt, the air grew misty and she was suddenly a massive green dragon with curled horns, claws and a bladed back and spicked tail.
Beating her massive wings, she rose into the sky and jerked her head at Desdemona, letting out a roar in response before hovering next to the open balcony and growling at the bronze show off. "Must you forever draw attention to yourself? Take to the skies fool. This is no place for you." She was waiting to see what the Riders were planning on doing. If traditions had been passed down as they should be, her shape and look would be recognized and it would cause the Riders to halt. If not...they could all be in danger.
Areesa passed the children and went spinning down another flight of stairs. "Xeke! I know you're in here!" Floating throughout the rooms, she paused a moment. "Don't be a butthead again! I need your help."
She cringed as a large roar lit into her ears followed by another one as the temple literally shook on its foundation. "That's not either...." Pausing a moment as she waited and then hurried along with him. "We gots to go back!" She picked up the trail of salt and tugged her brother towards the entrance.
She didn't need to be told twice. Taking the offered shard, she tucked it away into a runic pocket and then raced back to the balcony. Seeing her friend with the situation well under control, she relaxed slightly, walking over to them and shaking her head though she scribed a rune to lock Savvy's feet so she couldn't accidentally go over. "Who are you and what is your purpose, human?"
Thobias followed and shook his head as Desdemona rose into the sky in her full bladed glory. "She always was obstinate. We'll just have to keep an eye on her..." Seeing another, much larger and obviously male dragon appear, he frowned. "That's not one of ours nor is that a Rider's mount. Did Des get another boyfriend when we weren't looking?" He saluted his captain and turned to his crew. "All hands on deck! Man the cannons and watch. If a Rider comes within range, shoot to kill!"

She watched Rahsaveer go before turning her attention to Kaznec as he said he would stay down here with her. Was she really that much trouble. Jae frowned, turning a look down to the stone of the ground as she processed thoughts. "I'm sorry..." It was like making him stay was instating obligation, something she had never been fond of. Well damn beign white scaled. Walking away from him, she went to lean against the far wall, listening for anything but not much penetrated this deep down in the temple. "You can help them you know...the stairs are broken getting down here, I'm sure a Rider wouldn't want to risk it..." Trying to give him an excuse to absolve him of his obligation.
The little sky blue seemed to be quite at a loss over what was happening to her Rider, making all kinds of upset and pleading dragon noises to the two elves that had hold of the rider. In fact she had crawled over off the railing and was hunkered down much like a dog showing submissiveness as her pleading noises continued.
He glared up at the two elves, especially to the one that had a bladed chain wrapped around his arm being the only thing causing him not to plummet to his death. "I'm a Rider and my purpose is my own. Your purpose here though is the cause of a look into things. This is a common Rider rest...not many others come this far out into the sandseas, let alone the saltbeds.
She was relieved at the rune her friend scribed, made her not have to worry too much now. But a snicker at the answer they got. "Selfish creature, you're like the pirates who think they own the Sandseas as well." Her attention turned over her shoulder thought at the noise of the little dragon.
He took her hand and let her lead him onward before a flash of black caught his attention and made him trip a moment, hooves sliding out from under him and taking his sister down with him. "I saw daddy!"
A clawed hand reached out and grabbed them, yanking them from the hallway and into the alcove he had pressed himself into. A growl in his throat spoke of his agitation to them before he looked out to see if the coast was clear, tucking one under each arm before retreating to the back of the temple with them. Damnable lot of creatures.
"Just what we need, more dragons that are beacons to those around here. This is not a good scene forming." Shaking her head and pulling on a thick jacket meant to protect to an extent in the head of engagements and the like. Better safe than sorry just in case, but there didn't seem to be too much activity. "If we can avoid anymore attention we need to...passing riders are no concern if they do not realize there are ships docked here."
Two others sat topped upon pale little dragons who merely stood there. One was a pale green wile the other a pale gray. The one of hte red held up his hand as they gazed at the two dragons that had taken ot the sky. Both full grown and looking meaner than hell. Not to mention they looked perfectly strong and capable...dangerous to have a go at without the right equipment. Capturing wild dragons was no lost art to them, but there were times when you had to consider whether it was best to risk being eaten. "Stay your mount, these are not dragons to mess with. We've not our equipment anyway." No recognition at the green....he was human and most sotries from long ago were forgotten to his kind. Little of the old stories circled in the camps these days.
A look up to their third companion...in the world of Riders, if you were weak you didn't get saved. If you were weak, your dragon would know...and then hell would break loose. Better to cull those out. "Leave him, the sky will be dead in a few days." Rider Dragons were about as competent as new born puppies in the ways of taking care of themselves. "Give a call to the other in the temple."

Caden had a pissed off look when the dragon just went storming out of the room. "I swear she is gonna get us all killed someday..." He muttered and sighed a bit. But even though Shyrae was told to go help her friend that didn't stop Caden from going with her. When they reach the next room the guard was a little shock to find the way the elf was, it seemed she took care of the rider that was in the room. Quietly he looked over the side and raised an eyebrow at the one over the edge. "Gods be damn are you lucky..." He muttered and shook his head a bit. "This place belongs to you?" The sound in his voice was of surprise, the temple never seemed like it was in use at all when they arrived. It must of been months since the last time any rider was here.
But then the sound that came from the dragon made Caden turn toward it. He felt sad for the little creature, if it weren't for these damn riders maybe the blue dragon could of have a better life. Sighing he pulled away from the railing and looked down at the little one. "Hey..." He crouched down and smiled a little bit. "Are you alright little one?" He asked as he was about to reach out and pet it but paused, he didn't know how it's creature was trained, it could probably bite him if he wasn't careful.
