One of the Bada$$es of the story who uses earth element attacks and along with haveing a quirky backstory has a 'Tsundere' personality......

A mysterious character that challenges the hero at the beginning of the game and the hero wins, but he sees it as unfair, so he is constantly trying to have a rematch to fight for his honor, but something always gets in the way. It isn't until near the end they finally have a rematch and the hero bests him fairly. After that, he joins the party and helps you get through the final stage.

A mechanic who makes the hero run around in a series of side-quests collecting various items (varying from a spanner to a clothing line) in order to build "The Great One"
When the mechine is completed, it is revealed to be an enormous robot, which falls to pieces as soon as it takes its' first step. You can find the mechanic later on in the game, crying saying how she'll fix 'him' and they will show everyone who's a crazy mecha-loon.

An over-eager grim reaper that appears at the end of battles to collect the souls. But if you get taken out in battle, you have to do a mini-battle against her to save your soul!

The man behind the man, the REAL Big Bad of the story who reveals himself only after the one we are led to believe is the Big Bad is beaten by the Hero. Once he reveals himself he kills his subordinate for his/her failure and proceeds to attack the Hero and his/her partners. The player has a REALLY hard time trying to find out the secret to beating him.

The main player character. Starting as a wannabe fighter, tacking on distinctive clothes and traits so his legend will be well known. In the end of the game he becomes a hero of legend and tries to retire to a quiet forest, only to find members of his party-- his friends, setting up shop in his new home village.

An Ice Mage Hermit that lives in the frozen tundra of the northlands, that unfortunately for him, keeps getting bothered by the nearby population of friendly Yetis.

A water spirit that that takes human form and will appear at certain times to give the hero and his/her party gifts that will help them on their quest. Also, late in the game, she'll ask you to help her with what sounds like a simple task, but it turns out to be much harder than expected. Should you succeed, she'll join your party and be an enormous advantage in the coming battles due to her adept healing techniques.

A strange mutant who has somehow merged with the huge snake that ate him due to radioactive effects. This mutant is intent on becoming the next greatest Jedi master and is part of a sidestory where he tries to defeat the hero in random run ins every now and then.
In the end, the heroes realize that he is becoming strong so he can coerce some smart intelligible minds to help return him to his original form.... the snake.

The crazy little girl that has a crush on the main character.
She gets really upset in the beginning when he has to leave the town she lives in for his 'quest' and she beats him with her umbrella.
He comes back later and ends up having to save her.

Zombie wanna be demon who's just some random guy that sings at a bar because he's failed everywhere else. This guy knows something about the place that the hero is going to next.
