"We'll see then, it's still a long while off till we even make the trip back," Lin though hoped he would meet plenty of people.
Her thoughts though were cut short by Miyuki's voice.
"What's akin mean? What is torture?"
Lin blinked, "Why are you asking?"
"Aethos-sola said he heard that..." she wrinkled her nose trying to think, "tickling is akin to torture."
Lin blinked at that for several seconds trying to wrap her brain around it.
"Ah.... Akin is another word for like, torture is something very unpleasant and hurts. Let's leave that at that."
"Oh...." Miyuki blinked, "But tickling doesn't hurt."

"It's hardly fun," Rhea spoke up. "I was so ticklish as a child ... I hated it. That was just ... not fun."
"To put it plainly," Aethos put in, talking to Miyuki again, "it is something I would rather go without. That being said, I should go back and tell Captain Striate that you're doing all right, Lady Rhea."
"Ah, yes!" Rhea grinned. "Do. Remind him he said he would talk to Lady Alena for me, all right?"
Aethos nodded. "I will. Have a good day, Lady Rhea. Lin. Miyuki." He bowed his head at them all and then turned towards the door.

"Bye Aethos-sola!" Miyuki waved at the man, "Come and play next time okay?"
It was hard to explain why she said this knowing that he didn't know how to play. Maybe she hoped to teach him.
"You too," Lin murmured trying not to giggle at Miyuki.

Aethos raised one hand in farewell before leaving the room, closing the door behind him again.
Rhea chuckled and looked back at Lin. "He's so uptight," she grinned.

Lin could only smile and nod in agreement, that had been obvious for a long time.
"Why do you say that?" Miyuki's voice piped up, she didn't understand as a she thought Aethos-sola needed to learn to have fun.
This was pretty much ten same thing though.

Rhea grinned and winked at Miyuki. "It's a grown-up thing," she replied. "Let's just say, he needs to learn how to have fun."
Or just plain learn how to be social, or how to act around people.

She smiled up at the women.
"Can we?"

Rhea giggled. "I don't think so, Miyuki," she said apologetically. "It's not that simple, and that sort of thing wouldn't work with Aethos-sola. He would require something more ... subtle, something less obvious."
She smiled. "Don't worry. He just needs time, he'll come around. Eventually."

Miyuki tilted her head curiously because she couldn't understand why that wouldn't work.
"What is subtle? And can I play with him anyways?"

Rhea chuckled softly. "It just means it's not obvious," she smiled. "And if you want to try to play with him, you go right ahead."
She shifted in her seat, looking down at the twins. "And they'll need to be sleeping soon."

"Nap time all ready?"
Miyuki pouted at this, even though it meant fun lessons and playing with the other children maybe.
"They sleep a lot."
"You slept a lot as a baby too," Lin reminded her.

Rhea smiled. "Babies sleep more than half the time, Miyuki. That's when they grow. When they're awake, their energy goes to what they're doing. When they're asleep, their energy goes to them growing."
Xion, it seemed, had already fallen asleep on the floor, but Rhiannon seemed bent on fighting it. Her head would drop to the floor, and then she would lift it again and yawn.

"But I don't sleep as much as they do and I still grow," Miyuki murmured.
Though it was veer obvious even to her that the babies were in the process of going to sleep.
"But babies also get tired more easily," Lin replied, "You use to sleep in your ada's arms a lot."

"Not to mention, you are of a different race," Rhea added, heading over to the children and picking them up, one at a time, and placing them in their cradle. "You don't grow slowly like they do, you grow in stages, in spurts ... your energy consumption is different."
Which might explain why she seemed to have so much more energy than normal children.

In truth she didn't quite get it, but the idea was close enough. They were different, that was why the babies needed naps.
"Come," Lin replied rising from her seat, "We'll go, and take a trip into the city."
Since she did not think that Earendil would be done is work yet.
