And as nothing seemed to pop out from the forest... Mei and Ami would be strolling on through the forest without a care in the world. She whistled on through, while occasionally looking around to make sure the area was safe. Hearing things didn't seem to alarm Mei, as the forest was filled with pokemon... the question would appear in her mind though, why wouldn't they reveal themselves?

[16+8= 24/5=4.8 rounds to 5]
The snake coils would wrap their way around the turtle as she starts to squeeze. Tighter ... Tighter they would curl as she moved to prevent an attack by literally crushing her opponent. The thick shell would find itself useless to prevent this as the coils grew every stronger.

The attack was well timed and the kick perfectly aimed, but the mew smelled blood in the water and she had no plans of letting him get away as she would catch that leg as it swung as her.
There was a dull pain in her hand but she could live with that as she smiled in his face as she simply pushes him away. There was nothing to fear from a dead Pokemon as she merely defends herself.

Her smile was met by a frown with eyes dull and full of anger. When he was pushed, he balanced himself, making sure not to fall. She was getting cocky now, after just landing one hit she had already assumed him as a pokemon to be left to die.
He stepped up to her, pain signals going off so much he could no longer run. And, looking her in the eyes, he tried to make it clear that while he still stood on two feet, he'd give her hell. He swung at her legs, her whole lower body, with a Low Kick, putting as much power into it as he could. It probably wouldn't end the fight, but it had to do something.

From inside her shell, Mazu could feel the snake wrap herself around her shell and there wasn’t much she could do about it. In a matter of seconds, it started to hurt. A lot. She needed to get this snake off if her. So she started to shake herself violently, hoping to get the Ekans to let go. Squirtle - Mazu

The attack was worthless as she simply deflected it sending the Pokemon over her shoulder and crashing head first in and through the bubble containing his trainer as it popped from that forced entree.
It was a bubble that had been made by psychic means and with out the new inside to preserve it it easily crumble under the might of the dark type a lucky break for such a weak attack that had hit against her.
Though she wasn't done yet as she turned and flew after him again. She was going to end this once and for all.

It would work as she shed the Pokemon like an extra skin. The snake landing and curling up in a defensive manner. She knew another attack would be quickly following the first.

Burnout and Jasmine would continue onward, as Jasmine would lead on, her crutch announcing her steps as they would head onward, with the Lampent floating behind her two steps backward.
It had been a bitter and terrible defeat they'd faced... they had let down so many pokémon it was innumerable and impossible to begin the weight on Jasmine's shoulder just now in the Lampent's mind, although safe to say, it wasn't as light as the female Spinarak there on her shoulder.
Curled up in the warm and lush cloak that Cheza had gave her... she considered herself lucky that there were no visible wounds... and that she was part poison, so the wound wouldn't continue to work upon her... but that said nothing of internal injuries... things she couldn't see so well.
She could only hope when the little one would awaken, hidden and safe there, that she would be comfortable in that bedding.
Burnout had to laugh despite himself, the sound like a puff of smoke inside his lamp, the lid atop his flame nearly popping up an inch. So many girls her age he imagined afraid of bugs, especially spiders...
But then, Jasmine had never been afraid... then again, she was as far from a girl she could remember...
But then, this Jasmine before him... she wasn't HIS Jasmine...
And his mood festered once more.
But Jasmine finally stopped.
And he stopped as well, waiting until she would turn.
The greenery was behind them, now here they were in the heart of the desolate crater... "We're in a bad way, aren't we?"
Burnout didn't answer.
"I have a list I need to fill... to find a battery for a store owner I promised to search for... I'd hoped we would have found that with the Joltik."
"I have to find some item rare enough to sell that can repay my medical bills... not to mention maintain my land..."
"I want to catch a Skarmory, and I only have a Heavy Ball left..."
Burnout's flame skipped a second, his scowl fixed on her... she would have chosen THAT pokémon of all creatures, wouldn't she? He kept quiet and waited upon her with no other indications.
She just looked at him and shrugged with a half-laugh, "I like pokémon that can take hits, Steelix, Skarmory, Shuckle... What can I say?"
"I'd like to think my pokémon are tougher than my bones anyhow."
And then she let her head fall, a heady sigh came there, "...And I need to find another pokémon... one that's strong... but I don't necessarily look to keep... to trade, for a special pokémon I met, the very first day I came to the Academy..."
Burnout's eyes narrowed and he fixed upon her, suddenly whirling before her face accusingly.
And she laughed, reaching out and placing her better hand upon the glass surface, "Burnout... You're someone special to me."
She held her hand up, and slowly, pulled at a bandage, and kept pulling, round and round she would unravel as he pulled back, and there it was on her face.
The pattern followed under her chin, her cheek and earlobe, and curled around her forehead too, the scars and the red inflamed skin showed themselves prominently.
He would recognise them forever. They were from HIS flames after all.
"Consider these marks a contract, between you and me."
"To be stronger."
She struggled for a second, but she managed to slowly work the bandage round again, a bit flimsy, but it would do for now anyway, although a loose end or two would certainly toss behind her in the low wind the crater held.
"...Lindbergh is poisoned... and our new 'friend' Nightingale is knocked out... We need to find plants, healing plants to try and brign them round, help them."
"If I asked you to fly up... could you look around, see if you can spot any plants that jut out from the rockface, or shrubs amongt he edges of the rock?"
Burnout sighed, it was a heady sigh, sometimes history was doomed to repeat itself, and sometimes, even he would be made to follow decisions he wasn't sure... like the Spinarak, how could he not interfere?
Now, he was the one fighting onward... and if he wanted to do the right thing, to keep fighting, he had to stay by this girls side, to stay by her... for better or worse, he looked at the face, and even if the gauze covered it, the marks would always be there, they had a contract.
And he nodded, floating upward, gazing around far and wide, he no longer had his nose, his sense of smell, now he would need to judge new senses and new methods of searching, but he would look and keep looking to see if he could spot anything useful...

Once the pain had ceased, Mazu poked her head out, and the rest of her body followed when she saw she was no longer being attacked... Good, that meant it was now her turn to have fun. Like before, Mazu dashed towards the snake in order to tackle it to the ground.

[[ Forgot to say it before, but... ]] FUMBLE! -1 TO MEWS DEFENSE!The bubble popping was a welcome relief for Ada, as she caught Carmine in her arms as he burst through it. A big smile was on her face and she held him close for a moment, careful not to hurt him.
"Scrag" she looked down, Carmine looked up at her with a spark of determination in his eyes. She knew what he wanted, and she wouldn't go against his wish now, as she set him down on the ground. "Be careful" the Scraggy nodded, and he turned to face the Mew once more.
He moved to the side, hopefully getting out of the Mews way. Not today she wouldn't!

It would come at him ...like an assassin in the night. The poison barb dancing and twirling as it went for the pokemon as it speed across the sky. It would seem that Burnout had once more attracted attention that he wasn't quite ready for as the Poison bug would glare daggers at them.
Invaders of his territory, he had noticed the Spinarak and knew already whom it belongs to. That Joltik, and he wasn't going to allow them to walk freely in his territory scoping out the place and causing problems for him and his family here. They have so far kept the Joltik out of their territory and they didn't plan to let them get a single stringshot worth of hold in his lands.
That meant driving them away.

The battle would end then as the turtle hit against the snake. Knocking her hard against the wall as she would slide to a stop against the dirt floor once more, but this time, she wouldn't make any moves to get back up. Her eyes spinning around in her head as she simply stayed there.
The battle was over with a victory for the Turtle.

((xD Yay, just in time to get one post back in here...))
Burnout moved in instinct.
He no longer had his nose or ears of that of an Arcanine, but instinct was a constant, it was a part of him forever preserved. Perhaps even more so as a spirit.
He moved and the stinger flew in an arc he could almost plot across, his eyes would fling back to the Skorupi.
He was in no good mood to trifle with now...
His displeasure filled his throat.
[If you survive this attack... take my suggestion... run.]
[Run and keep running!]
He would not say any more, as he hung there in midair his flame built, but instead of releasing the attack from above, the bottom section of his lamp opened like a vent, and suddenly,t he burning air was unleashed downward, sending the Heat Wave right over the Skorupi in counter!
Just because Jasmine was his so-called trainer, did not mean he and the girl shared interests in preservation of enemies!
Still... if it stayed conscious, it could have been handy...

The move would hit even as the Scraggy tries to avoid the attack. Her tail whipping as she floats over the pokemon and smiles deeply. Yes, that was satisfying but not enough ...as she looks over at the trainer. She needed more to thrash ..more to take down because of what had happen to her friend. She needed more to satisfy her rage.
She waited for something else to come.

Once Mazu had delivered the final blow and some mental cheering, and congratulations were done, Celeste decided it was time to continue on their way. She figured they would reach the end of the cave soon enough, so she let Mazu out of her pokeball to explore whatever was left of the cave with her. Squirtle - Mazu
