Felicity woke when she heard the door to Shadow and hers room open and rolled over to face the door

Valaryia smiled, more confident. Singing was what she did best. "Sure," Valaryia said. She didn't waste a moment, and opened her mouth and ang a celtic tune:
"If you were coming in the spring,
I'd hope you whittle all sweet time away
Building a fire like the corpse
of the red swallow we never burried
I'd shyly accept it as a gift,
pretending I had no great intentions
For in taking this, trying again,
It may be enough to waken the dead."
Valaryia stopped singing, but clearly consumed in loving emotion. The feel of the room grew warmer. She could feel herself getting stronger. Perhaps she could sing herself back to health instead of drinking blood.
((Someday I'll post the song Valaryia is singing. It's something I wrote, and the vocals are done by Michaela Erixon, my ex and friend. I imagined her voice to be Valaryia's.))

Neferata smiled, her fangs peered out from under her lips. "That was beautyful. You are talented." she said as she got closer to Valaryia. She stopped a few steps away from her. "Your voice could bring an army to it's knees and warm the colest of hearts."
Shadow looked to Felicity. "Hello there my love. How are you?" he asked.

Valaryia laughed, trying to supress a huge grin. "Why thank you," she said, becoming modest. She hadn't recalled feeling so good in a long time. Yet Neferata's focus on Valaryia put energetic butterflies in her stomach.
"So, um," she began, changing the subject. "Do you have powers? They say a vampire's powers are unique to them."

Felicity smiled at Shadow "i'm fine i just took a little nap here with Alexia. how are you my dear?" she whispered sitting up trying not to move the bed to much to disturb the baby

"I'm very good my dear. I had a run in with someone I knew from my past and they delivered to me what I have been looking for." he wispered back to her as he kneeled at the side of the bed.
"Well my powers are not exactly unique. I am a necromancer and scholar. Nothing really impressive. I come from a much... older kin. The only time our more unique powers reveal themselfs is when we give in to the eternal hunger and that is not a prity sight." Neferata said as her thoughts drifted back to her youth and the horrors she saw.

"The last books of the great Nagash. I now have all nine books. With them I will be able to better protect you and Alexia aswell as everyone in this mansion." Shadow said.
"A necromancer is someone who can manipulate the dead but we have some other abilities to. There are also some skills that are unique to all vampires once they learn to use them." said Neferata with a grin.

Manipulate the dead, huh? "You mean, bringing people back to life?" Valaryia said. Suddenly she was curious and full of questions. She stepped closer to Neferata. "And what pther abilities do vampires have?" Valaryia asked, not pausing for an answer to the first question. This new question was suddenly a little more important to Valaryia.

"Well one of them loosely translates to the winds of dead. It creates a cold wind that consumes the target, freeing the spirit from the body and turning the wandering spirit into something a little differant. There is the gaze, something that I'm not to sure about yet. Then there is our inherant ability to heal ourselfs and other undead beings. Some manage it through an invocation and some manage it by other means. Most never figure it out though." Neferata said taking a breath afterwards. "Necromancers don't bring people back to life as such. We just animate their corpses and bind them to our will. We can comunicate with the dead and sometimes bind them to an animation but they are never as they where."

"I see," Valaryia said. So father will forever stay dead, she thought somewhat sadly. She stepped back a little to lean in the doorway. Her cloak, tattered and ripped, hung about her and for the first time her garter and the dagger it held were exposed slightly by a hole.
"As a vampire, I'm not considered... dead, am I?" Valaryia asked. "I mean, can I die?"

"Undead is a term givien to things that have died one and have been given an unatural second life. You are classed as undead but most just see zombies, skeletons and wraiths as undead. You can still die, emortality just give you an extended life. You will not age past now and you will never be plauged by disease but other unatural means will kill you. Guns, swords and the like." she said as she looked at Valaryia's tattered cloak.

Valaryia changed position, her back against the threshold, unaware of Neferata's glance. "That actually sounds nice..." Valaryia mused. "Although I wonder if I age too long, I will tire of life." A frown came across her face.
