Volgen stopped as he stood slowly.
" I am what you call an 'Old Soul'. Time on another level... I have reach a point in my life that I CAN learn new things for ANY one. Yes I am your master, but I am no Sith. I do not enjoy death like most do. I do not teach as most would... In fact this is my first time. " He smiled oddly as he said this. But being a Defel, his smiles were all odd.
" Do not take this as I can not teach or that I am weak in any way. I could wipe the floor with you if I wished..." His eyes glazed over as he drifted into another bad memory. Grabbing his head, his wrenched back. He didn't yell. He just took a deep breath and got on all fours again.
" Come... We should eat. "

As the Revenge flashed through hyperspace, the child on board dreamed of happier days; days filled with exciting adventures with his friends through the streets, alleyways, and overpasses of Eriadu's urban landscape. The dream, however, morphed into a nightmare, as one by one his friends were snatched away from him by a horrible creature in a white lab coat. Finally, when all of his friends were taken, the monster came for him...
The boy awoke with a shout, looking around the room and trying to figure out where exactly he was. His abrupt rise sent him tumbling off the side of the cot he lay on, and he sat on the floor with his knees huddled against his chest. Finally he saw a tall soldier in an armor he had never before seen across the room, sitting on the bulkhead and leaning against the wall.
Suddenly, the armored soldier began to move, standing up and walking towards him.
The boy hid his head in his legs, willing his nightmare to be over...

"Everything that exists in the 'verse, exists in balance." Marie said, resting her hand in his while gently tracing the fingers on her other hand over the skin on his arm. "Life and death, pain and pleasure, war and peace, light and darkness."
Her fingers danced back and forth, tracing a pattern as she talked. Then, slowly, a comforting warmth began to spread from where she touched him, the lingering effects of her power gently caressing his own.
"As a Jedi you learned how to wield the forces of light to your benefit, learning how to work wonders by manipulating the very basic elements of the galaxy. They tried to shut you off, however, from the other half of your power."
As she continued, Marie let her hand trail up his arm, across the top of his shoulder, and come to rest gently on his neck. From there, her power spread across the entirety of his body, washing it in that same warmth as before. Her other hand, which had been resting in his until this point, now grasped him lightly on that same arm, and pulled him slowly towards her.
As he neared her, Marie gazed deeply into his eyes, open wide with fear and uncertainty. Her own green eyes were calm and unwavering, peering through the feeble barriers he had set up in his mind and searching the darkest depths of his soul. She held his gaze with her will, so that he could not look away.
"At least twice before you have experienced what power your rage and pain could give you. Once in your battle with the training droids on-board the Avatar and again yesterday when we called the lightning. That power stems from deep inside you, and only your darkest thoughts and fears can summon it. So remember the horrors of your past, remember the nightmares of your previous battles and the pain of injuries sustained. Remember all that you have suffered, and use that suffering to call forth your beast..."

Jakar's stomach twisted as Marie's power surged into him. He closed his eyes tightly, feeling a pain inside him as if someone lit his soul on fire. His eyes seemed to be on fire as well, more so than the feeling he was getting from the center of his body. The power kept swelling into him, and at each moment the power came in, his eyes and soul grew hotter and hotter.
Jakar opened his eyes sharply as he took in a large gasp of air, as if he had been holding it far longer than a human should. He jumped back and turned around, looking into a reflective surface on the wall. His eyes were a sulfuric yellow, as opposed to the hazel hue they had once been. The familiar adrenaline-like power flowed through his veins. Jakar stood up and looked at Marie. "I feel..." he paused. "Great." A smirk painted his face.

"Not a sith," Sonya said with disgust. She went from a master now to a person without any abilities. She gave a quick huff, before resigning the conversation.
"I would like to figure out how to take down a ranged opponent with my sabers, for starters."

The noted mockery in her voice was ignored by Volgen. He didnt need to prove any thing to a novice.
" Yes not a true Sith. I dont care for their... games. " He turned down the hall and walked not to far into another room. Inside crew men laughed and sang as they had gotten the news from Gray about getting a hefty pay and new equipment.
" Ranged targets hrmm? That is simple and complex at the same time. " Volgen said walking to his privet eating chamber. It was privet for a reason. He may be sophisticated to a large degree, but he still ate like an animal.
As the door shut he turned to Sonya.
" How well do you use your force powers? Because unless you want to bast them with a ranged weapon you will need a high level of force ability. "

Sonya raised an eyebrow. If he wanted to measure things, he would get it. Lifting an arm up, she sent out the strongest push she could, denting the wall in a nice circle right beside his head. The bulkhead groaned a tad, before she lowered her arm.
"That's about as strong as it gets. I focused mainly on my lightsaber combat back on Umbara."

Volgen seen this before. She did just what he needed. He looked to the dent and scanned it. With the width and depth he attempted to see how far her saber would fly if she threw it. She would get a good distance. But not enough to stop a sniper from picking her off.
" Then this will be your first task. We will work on your ability to throw your saber. Now if your planning on getting this to be able to take out long range targets then you will have to push your self... or ill push you. But learning this may not be easy or attainable. We will train your force ability.... After eating. "
Volgen sat and tapped at a vid screen. A hatch opened above him as a dead Narglatch body fell and landed on the table.
Volgen let out a growl as he motioned Sonya to sit.
" You may eat what you like... I dont mind sharing... " He eyed her. He didnt think she would have the guts to eat a narglatch.
" If this is not to your liking I can get some one to fetch you some thing more... Easy. " Volgen stabbed a hand into the chest and pulled out the heart. Taking a bite he held it out to her to see if she would take.

Sonya cocked a brow. Drawing her saber, she sliced a leg off and picked it up.
"Don't suppose you can find someone to cook it. Not all of us happen to have organs designed for eating raw meat."

Pleasantly surprised, Volgen pressed a button on the vid screen and moments later a oddly dress chef walked in. Bowing he took the leg and walked back out.
" Very impressive, I lived with your kind. Many of them ignored me. Didn't see me as a threat. I showed them... " His eye twitched as his mind wondered for a moment.
" You are not like the ones i met. You have much more potential then many of my colleagues. " Volgen continued to eat. He used his claws to slash open then chest. Many unknown organs spilled out.
The chef returned with a plate. The leg had been prepared and made more presentable. Volgen sniffed the air.
" Talsha. You have out done your self. " Volgen smiled almost drooling over the plate. He resisted the urge and bite into more organs.
" Tell me... What do you know of the force? "

Kira saw the boy awaken and moved closer to check on him. As she did, he looked up at her almost in terror and huddled against the cot as far away from her as possible. It took her a moment to realize that she was still wearing her buy'ce, and how she must have looked to the traumatized youth. She slowly lifted her hands up and removed the helmet, setting it on the bulkhead beside her and letting her long hair fall down over her armor.
"It's okay, little one. I won't hurt you," Rook said, bending down to look into the boy's eyes. He stared back at her, confused and frightened, but past all of the mixed emotions swirling beneath the surface she saw one thing that the boy probably hadn't experienced in a long time.
She saw hope.

Two doors opened on either side of the the training room, and two large, multi-legged droids walked out of each, crawling across the room like mechanical spiders. They came to either side of Marie and Jakar and stopped, waiting. Lady Celeste stood up from the floor and walked over to him, standing a mere inches from his face.
"I have other business that needs attending, so I'll leave you here to test out your newfound power," she said, standing on the tips of her toes to kiss him lightly on the forehead. "A word of caution however. The Dark Side is capable of granting you power enough to do seemingly impossible things, but it is far too easy to lose yourself to that power. Master it, tame it, learn to manipulate it, or it will do so to you. The ranks of the Sith are littered with those too weak to control it; I hope that you will not share that same fate. Those skills that you learned in your time amongst the Jedi will aid you, but the final test lies within yourself."
"Good luck," she said, and slipped out of the room, stopping at the door to look back at him one last time. Then she was gone, and the doors closed and locked behind her.
